One Police Plaza (iRP) (FO) - Lee_Redfield - 01-20-2011

Sender:Recruit Officer Chase Harlan
Date: 19/01/819
Subject: Patrol #3
Arrests: None
Officers Present: Officer Kerensky (Helped me to pursue Red_Bull out of New York System), Recruit Officer Misty White (first half of patrol saved me and my vessel)

I began my third patrol in the Texas system having transported some Liberty Rogues pilots to LPI Sugarland (//NPCs). I was then hailed by Recruit Officer Misty White and we linked up in the Pennsylvania system.

+Pennsylvania was quiet and there were no incidents. After our last sweep of the system, we were joined by the Captain of LNS Sword of Domescales (I apologize for the butchered spelling). A final sweep with the Navy Gunboat at our side proved Pennsylvania to to be quiet and so we made our way for the New York system.

+Upon entering New York things were calm and so our group continued to follow our patrol route. Not long after, my open comms channel was being hailed by a trade vessel captain requesting an escort into the pennsylvania system. He had come from far and worried he was a big target, wisely docked on a station in Colorado and requested help before going any further. Myself and RO-White gladly moved to assit with the Navy Gunboat not far behind. We checked the lanes and gates for the trade captain and thankfully we were able to get him to Pennsylvania with no incident. The grateful captain then generously donated 2 million credits to LPI to help bolster our equipment, training, and to provide new officers. RO-White and myself made sure we expressed our gratitude for the donation.
Attached is the file of this transaction:Link

+The acomplishment I was feeling after the successful escort was cut short when an LSF pilot radioed me about a suspect under the callsign of FilthyGirl, a Rogue suspected of piracy in New York. Me and RO-White responded immediately and jumped back into New York. We found our suspect along with a Lane Hacker pilot, callsign Red_Bull near the tradelanes to the California jumpgate. As I issued an order for the Rogue Pilot to cut engines and stand down, Red_Bull moved to fire on me. RO-White courageously placed her vessel to intercept the brunt of the attack, and was shot down. Upon this I immediately engaged the Lane Hacker, while the Rogue pilot sat still, firing upon me only when I came within 700 or so meters as I fought Red_Bull. Miraculously I was able to survive the firefight thanks to a courageous police affiliated pilot who provided assitance. Sadly, this pilot was shot down, but it changed the minds of both the pirates, and they fled in different directions. I chose to pursue Red_Bull due to assault on an officer. Sadly he was able to make it into the badlands. Depleted of ammunition, I docked on Fort Bush to resupply. It was at this time Officer Kerensky came onto active duty. We both continued to make our sweep for the fugitives, eventually spotting Red_Bull again, who made for the Colorado system and ran too deep for us to pursue into Lane Hacker territory. Officer Kerensky then had to end his patrol there and I returned to New York.
Attached is the evidence of the attack on my partner, RO-White (Taken after my intial engagement with the pirates when I landed to restock on Fort Bush)
Link1
Guncam footage of Red_Bull fleeing the system after destroying RO-White and another pilot:Link2

I was not able to take any footage of Officer Kerensky's and myself's pursuit of Red_Bull into Colorado.

+Upon return to New York I spotted the Rogue FilthyGirl and proceeded to give chase for assualt on an officer and obstruction of justice. She immediately fled and fired upon me when I cut her engines. This continued in a pattern, I'd cut her engines, she'd engage, I would fire back, and she'd activate engines again until I cut them. This continued for a maddeningly long time, until suddenly my own engines were disrupted by another Lane Hacker Pilot callsign; Erick Knox. When he cut my engines the Rogue was able to easily escape, so I then turned to deal with the Lane Hacker, now wanted for obstruction of justice. He proceeded to ignore my stand down orders, then he turned and strafed my vessel, and began running like mad. I expended all my cruise distruptor ammunition while trying to get him to stop. Unfortunately he was able to escape the system.
Guncam Evidence:Link

+By now Lane Hackers, Outcasts, and Liberty Rogues were pooring into the system from California and a major furball had erupted near the jumpgate with many Navy pilots engaged. My comms were a light with the havoc, so I moved to assit.

I regret to report that, by now I was very exhausted and when I entered into the dogfight I was taken out by a Liberty Rogue vessel whose pilot I was unable to ID.

Hello. This patrol began with the escort of a gold filled borderworlds transport. Transport was intact and the captain was alive at the beginning of the escort mission and was in the same state at the end of the mission, therefore it was successful.

I found a very unusual target for this region of space, and acquired tactical data which is shown below. The suspect confessed to Treason and I attempted to arrest him/her/it/schklee. He/shklee/she/it refused to cooperate and was euthanized.

Good evening officers of the LPI. My name is Frank Serpico. I've come to submit a patrol report to you to show you how the LPI can be more profitable. After less than an hour of patrolling Texas/Pennsylvania Systems I have been able to accrue 6,100,000 credits from various traders.

Item One: Galrickx--Firefly Transport
[Image: screen130.th.png][Image: screen133.th.png][Image: screen134j.th.png]

This freelance trader was spotted in Texas System just outside the Bering jumpgate. He was carrying 3496 units of Optical Chips. He said his destination was somewhere in the Sigmas, but he didn't know how to get there without breaking the embargo laws. Obviously, if I hadn't shown up, he would have just crossed into Rheinland without any regard for the laws of Liberty. However, destroying cargo doesn't make the LPI profitable, does it? Neither does sending him back the way he came. So, in order to help get the LPI out of the red, so to speak, I fined the potential lawbreaker 3,000,000 credits and gave him directions on how to get to his location without breaking Liberty laws. I'm sure that after I left, he did exactly as I directed.

Item Two: DSE)Dauntless
[Image: screen138h.th.png][Image: screen137.th.png]
This otherwise honorable trader attempted to leave Planet Houston ill equiped for the rigors of space. I noticed as he was undocking that his tail light had 'inadvertently' blown out. Of course, that was unacceptable, and I had to impose a fine upon him in the amount of 100,000 credits. He, of course, paid immediately and was duly embarassed for this oversight. He agreed to go straight back to dock and fix the problem immediately.

Item Three: Heen--Titanic Civilian Heavy Tanker
[Image: screen141.th.png][Image: screen142.th.png]
This pilot assured me that he was simply taking his 4700 Robotic Components to Sugarland. As you well know, it's only a short hop, skip and embargo run from Sugarland to Hudson jumpgate. I followed Heen all the way to Sugarland where he indeed sold his goods. I questioned him on his next cargo's destination, which was Deluth, Minnesota. I was in the process of checking his ship for broken tail lights when he offered me a donation for my diligence. He gifted the LPI 3,000,000 credits whereupon I promised him a tax deductable receipt for his generous donation.

As you can see, with a little ingenuity and just a smidge of effort, we can get Liberty Police back in the black. I look forward to meeting all you officers in person and I hope that we can work towards making Liberty a place where profits are enjoyed by all.

Good day,

I have yet another speech for you all, I do hope that you are listening.

Here at the LPI we're known to have fun whilst on the job.
We're used to the insults.
Not respected by the rest of Liberty.
Hell even the Navy don't like us.
But you know what we do?
Just carry on through the crap.
And us being inactive an all...
Makes it look like Liberty has won the war against the LPI.
It may not be a physical war.
But it is a war none the less.
We need to change this.
We need to get back out there and show who runs this house!
We are the Liberty Police Inc.
And we don't give a damn what they think.
All we care about is getting the job done by any means needed.
So are we going to do this or what?
Or are we going to wimp out like little panzies and make them think they beat the LPI?

I hope that all sinks in.

Deputy Chief Shaw.

Stops on your patrol/trade route: Planet Manhattan, Norfolk Shipyard, Fort Bush, Detroit Munitions, basically the system in a regular circular patrol pattern
Brief report/outline of your patrol:

Tonight there was a Very High hostile presence in the system, as well as smugglers plaguing the space. Lane Hackers (player faction) had a considerable presence and on attempt to intercept, 3 ships in a group fled into an asteroid belt. On pursuit after 5 minutes, they had vanished via a cloaking device on the border of said asteroid belt. On avoiding an ambush, I retreated back to the official spacelanes.

Similarly, IC|Cambridge, and other Interspace Commerce vessels refused to be checked, fleeing and engaging cloaking devices before I could properly check their cargo. One notable chase was when I was in pursuit of IC|Cambridge for 8 minutes after I found him following an encounter near Manhattan where the pilot refused to stop on radioing the message. When in pursuit, such messages were done and I turned my weapons on ready to intercept. Unfortunately I saw him heading into the asteroid field, and into Rochester Base: so at that time I disengaged due to the neutrality of the LPI to the Junkers, and the 5km limitation from such bases. I also attempted, and sometimes successfully, to interdict many other smugglers that were flying slaves in particular through the system. Again, the main contraband tonight that was being hauled was Slaves.

A group of Liberty Rogue (player faction), Lane Hackers (player faction) and other such hostiles as said before had a large presence, and some were threatening to attack. Many, due to the fact I was the only Officer on duty attempted to radio me onto a position. I ignored it as it was clearly an invitation to be ambushed.

Furthermore, to avoid being ambushed, I maintained a circular patrol pattern, interdicting successfully some vessels which had civilian pilots illegally, as well as Counterfeit Software. However, due to the lack of a Navy backup nor sufficient reinforcements, I could not successfully engage the large presence of hostile forces in New York. I ended my patrol by landing at Fort bush for some well-deserved Sunbucks after a hectic night in New York space.
Additional resources: I am yet to setup a consistent and reliable screenshot system besides using Print Screen and paint:)I'll be getting one in the next few days so I will have documentation at that time of what is encountered during patrols.

Brief report/outline of your patrol: Recruit Officer Vladimir Law stumbled into the local LPI station on this unknown Californian station. Recruit Officer Vladimir's face was bloodied, with dirt all over his uniform. A fellow LPI officer helped him up and sat him down on a chair, gave Vladimir a donut and some coffee. They talked about his experiences for a while. Afterwards, Prince Vladimir knew that the time was to write a report about it, and he asked for a sheet of paper, when he started writing a report on what had occurred to file and send to One Police Plaza on Manhattan.

Liberty Police Incorporated Report: 17/03/818 A.S.

My patrol began at Fort Bush in the New York system after lunch, between my work at Fort Bush teaching Interstellar Law. I piloted the Liberator and started to patrol, checking pilot's cargo and making sure everything was legal. A known criminal in Liberty, Jane Strawberry, entered my patrol radius and I ordered her to hold [1] (Evidence attached in chronological order). She complied and I scanned her cargo, finding some Cardamine, a Civilian Pilot and more than a dozen captive Liberty Police [2] . I immediately ordered her to empty her cargo. She did, with due diligence and a friendly attitude, so because she was so co-operative I let her off without a fine [3]. Unknown to me at that time that she was wanted in Liberty, the Liberty Navy asked if she was causing trouble, for which I said she was really nice and surrendered her contraband: which surprised the Navy and I was able to continue my patrol. Not long after, I returned to Fort Bush to have some coffee.

A few hours later, I set out on patrol once more in my Liberator. I re-armed my Train Cruise Disruptors and other such equipment. After patrolling for a few minutes checking for contraband and any breaches of Liberty Law, I flew to Manhattan, and from there southwards. Going south, I encountered a Liberty Rogue, StrikersVengeance [4]. I scanned his hold to find captured Liberty Navy and Police forces, and on requesting to drop it he initially fled the law [5] and then engaged an attack on myself, and two supporting Liberty Navy ships that were in my group at that time [6]. Battle then ensued for many minutes between myself mainly, and then later the LNS opening fire, which in a united front destroyed his vessel [7], [8], [9].

Afterwards, I continued to patrol New York but then turned by gaze to Colorado, where I got information that there was some criminal activity. It turned out it was quiet besides a few miners, so I then headed for Texas to uphold the Blockade on military hardware into Rheinland. There, I used the Battleship Mississippi [10] as my base of operations in policing the sector. Most of the shipping that had come in, after investigation and observation, sold their military hardware at Planet Houston. However, there was one incident in particular where a trader fled my calls to halt the vessel [11], requiring me to go in pursuit of the suspect Zata. On catching him at the Hudson jumpgate, I threatened use of force by using disabilitators against his shields. He immediately complied, and I found he was attempting to smuggle Superconductors into Rheinland space [12], as contrary to the Blockade. He said he honestly did not know of the embargo. However, I escorted him back to Houston to sell his arms and because I saw he didn't know about it fully I didn't fine him [13].

After that, some Deep Space Engineering pilots who were mining in Texas were flying around Houston when I spotted one hauling a small amount of Cardamine. I immediately told him to jettison the cargo, and it was destroyed. I ordered him to pay a fine of 200 000 credits [14], which was then immediately sent to LPI-Leavensworth for processing, as LPI-Rikers did not work. After spending a while patrolling in Texas, enforcing the Embargo whilst also fighting any criminals, I escorted a merchant vessel carrying Superconductors into California jump hole, and then into California.

On entrance to California, the merchant left me and I received a Mayday call from a Navy IFF/ID pilot. He was requesting my assistance as there was a Outcast in the area. As the only Law Enforcement within Liberty Space at that time, I came to his assistance immediately. I then sighted the Outcast Sabre-class vessel attacking the civilian, and I warned him many times and then started to open fire. The battle raged for about 10 minutes, for which my vessel was destroyed and I escaped in my life-pod to this station, where I was treated and made conscious (Respawn). I filed a full report in the Liberty Criminal Registry which you can find here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry1352309

As such I am at this moment in time recovering from my injuries, but should be able to get back to the beat as I hear there is a spare LPI Liberator in this station's hangers.

Brief report/outline of your patrol: Only had two incidents of note today. One was in the California system, while I was scanning passing traders, I found a small freighter carrying artifacts. I asked him to drop them and he quickly complied. I decided to waive any fines considering he only had 10 units and he was so cooperative.

Second event was just discovering a pilot carrying a Navy pilot in his hold. Upon request to drop him, he stated he was headed to turn him in to an LNS. A few minutes later I caught up with him again, and he released the pilot to my custody, stating he couldn't find any Navy about. The pilot was dropped off on West Point for medical evaluation.
