You give officialdom to [LN] who have been all but dead for 2 months before the decision, and deny SEO, just because they want to lean into the straightforward lawful side. Civil war is over, ALG is legal. Super job staff - I love your buddy system!

I would appreciate more feedback about this if possible. Essentially, I see this faction as filling a unique roleplay niche that I haven't seen from anyone else since I've been back to disco. So I am a bit surprised that this still wasn't enough for officialdom. I understand the concerns about ALG lore, but I thought we made things clear enough regarding how we slowly broke away from that. Considering what ALG specializes in, I always thought it was the best starting point for this type of faction.
In any case, I still have plans for SEO, but these will necessarily be smaller in scale with this decision in mind.

I don't know if this could help you, probably not, but just in case, I'll leave it here.
If the serious problem for the devs is the ALG ID/IFF, and having a Kruger or Daumann ID/IFF obviously doesn't fit with SEO lore at all, a solution could be to request your own, unique ID/IFF. Based on RP what you have been doing, SEO is a section of ALG that is "rebellious" to the matrix, and it could be interpreted that it has finally broken with it.
In this way it could be understood that the new ID/IFF had similar aspects to those that ALG has (mining benefits, ALG tech compatibility...), since they come from it. However, they would no longer be ALG, and SEO could follow a completely different diplomatic path than ALG, without leaving waste disposal in Rheinland.

There is definitely not enough deviation to warrant a separate IFF and ID here - there was the ridiculous argument that "ALG took side in civil war" that is completely void because they were re integrated in, there is no civil war.
ALG are not Junkers, in vanilla their reps were set negarive affinity to unlawfuls only - this is simply staff misconception of seeing ALG as the dead one that was doing stupid oorp things like shooting [RM] with their battlecruiser well after the civil war ended - the only slight deviation is that you didn't put pirate outside of House space ID lines, but like all corporations you would both work together while being Economic rivals.
This is simply staff bias, nothing more - they could have accepted while keeping the pirate outside of House space lines in/denying that (very minor and almost unused outside of events when you have allies line anyways) part. Instead they deny a very straightforward request and accept a dead faction? This is terrible news for the future Discovery, when someone will want to take a fresh slightly different perspective from people on staff they will just get automatically denied now and are actively discouraged from even trying to go official.

I don't see the need for a different ID/IFF than ALG either. My suggestion was more of a possible alternative since the staff doesn't seem to see it that way.

There's no option but to stay on ALG ID and just accept they won't be official, accept the (current) staff bias honestly and play for fun

Being an Unofficial Faction doesn't make you any worse off, unless you desperately wanted a seat in the Rhienland Government.
Don't be disheartened as many Factions never get there on their first attempt.
