Subject: Captured cargo

Bonjour. This is Lancer Raimund Lavigned.
While I was patrolling Provence System in my new scout ship "Eclaireur-1", I encountered a trader named Sam.Yshimoto with cargo hold full of Munitions. He didn't respond to any attempts to communicate, including questions regarding destination of the cargo. Suspecting those Munitions may be headed for Union facilities, I decided to take action and called a transport NT-Lumiere, requesting assistance. After repeated failed attempts to get any answer from the trader, we decided to take him down and use the cargo ourselves. I disabled Sam's vessel and we picked up the Munitions from its wreck. Lionel Boucher aboard the NT-Lumiere decided to take the captured cargo to Caussade Depot. I escorted him there and we handed over the payload to the crew of the station.
Entry from my ship's log showing the moment of Sam's demise:
Quote:[04.04.2021 14:37:49] Death: Kishiro|Sam.Yshimoto was put out of action by [FLG]Eclaireur-1[L] (Gun).

Subject: The Crucible of Lorraine

Today, a surprising non-Gallic individual alerted local Lorraine Maquisards of 2 Gallic warships making their rounds of the system and we scrambled a small force to tackle them. Upon seeing just one of our battlecruisers, the desperate Royalist Navy summoned an entire fleet to counter our meager force and soon the scene expanded exponentially into a titanic struggle.

With just a few battlecruisers in the area and a small snubfighter entourage to complement, we sent out an alert to neighbouring Maquis forces to lend a hand into the growing number of Gallic heavy battleships that started filling Lorraine.

The fight was going to near suicidal as we lined up our war vessels, when a strike force of Outcast Ranseur-class dreadnoughts bearing transponders of the Hyperspace Starfleet plowed into the Royalists much to our surprise and good fortune.

Seeking to take what advantage presented to us, Boucher ordered our forces forward in bloody revelry to annihilate the Naval war fleet. But then, we had more surprises yet:

A catastrophic ion storm flared through the system engulfing all the engaged parties and lasted several minutes as warships of all sides began drifting lazily, their systems incapacitated. It took several minutes before power and navigation/weapons came back online and allowed time for yet more Gallic Union vessels to jump into the fight. The Outcasts, once recovered, to their merit, plowed into the wall of battleships before us and were soon taken apart with withering gales of fire while our more nimble craft tried to pull apart the cluster and isolate the Royalist s***s.

Through the ensuing conflict, many heroes of the Maquis gave their last pommeling the battleships of our enemies and before the end, we managed to heavily damage several vessels, forcing them to fall back and completely crippled the Second Fleet dreadnought Honneur.

We bloodied the nose of our war criminal overlords today and many shouts of "Remember Leeds!" were heard through the comms as our forces battered our enemies.

Balian Remi

Subject:The Calais Research Facility Plutonium Bombing

Cologne - seems like a fruitful system!

In an exploratory mission on The Gallic borders I have managed to first obtain engines from The Red Hessians - they seemed like reasonably like minded people, even installed them for me!

Afterwards I met a freelancer Sneaky.Fox and he had something I got VERY excited about. An old sol Nuclear material! I don't usually get excited but this time I got so jittery I forgot I just paid way too much money for something I could have just taken!

Well off I went - carefully, I have drilled into the holding containers, connecting them and made a make shift remote detonator. My destination? The "Secret " research Union facility - Calais the imbeciles try to keep it secret by building a massive tradelane from a busy junction that leads right next to it.

Well it was Time to ACTunder heavy fire and while the mentioned freelancer was watching coincidentally, I have planted the rigged Plutonium as deep into the base's structure as I managed to get under fire

And then got the merde out of there while remotely detonating the old Sol nuclear fuel

The Make-shift detonator and raw plutonium were not enough to destroy the base, but it did succesfully detonate, and whatever The Union is cooking up on there must have gotten set back a good few days. If we get our hands on more this stuff I recommend we try to optimise the yield first.

Subject:EFL Bravery

Je suis tellement fier de moi!

Look, most of you know what I am good at. Our amazing "alternative" warfare schemes. What I am not great at is direct combat, never was.

It's all the more joyful to me that today I have proven to myself that perhaps I am worthy for direct fights on the front lines too! Or maybe it's The Hessian Engines?

After a swift innocent demand from their trader I have faced an EFL Noire.1Lynx who swiftly appeared on the scene against my Jaguar!

Failing to get that trader to say what I wanted, I had no choice but to fight - fully expecting to try to sneak out in an escape pod. Bomber against fighter - what chances do I - a man of the mind not one who relishes practicing direct fighting - have?

Turns our great many! In the lopsided duel I actually started to narrowly push the corporate Lynx miraculously back! After the fair duel was nearing it's narrow conclusion, the EFL deemed me to be too great of a threat. Noire one started running from the duel with me having little chance to catch up in my bomber.

And turns out we have so much respect with The EFL they called an entire contingent of ships!

Quote:[] EFL~Noire.2: I'm here responding to a distress call!
[] EFL~Noire.2: Terrorist spotted.
[] EFL~Noire.2: No honour for the honourless
[] RNS-Nuage: This is the GP Nuage Gunboat group , we open fire on the Maquis !
[] RNS-Nuage: Feu !

In the end, I indeed succumbed to the combined fire of the 2 Lynx fighters and a Gunboat. Apparently even the GSB fighter couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Quote:[] GSB]-Gaston,Corbeil: Don't you think this is quite too much, huh?

And our good friend who supplied us with plutonium earlier, Sneaky Fox even made an appearance!
Quote:[] Sneaky.Fox: Busy today

I am buzzing with excitement! Me - Someone who never enjoyed honing direct fighter and bomber craft skill, forcing a professional escort to flee and drawing out large amount of resources from the Union pawns?! Imagine that! I am drifting in my escape pod bloodied yet proud! Ready the Exotic Entertainers! Ready the finest wine our hidden rat infested bases can summon as you await my return!

Subject:Kusari

I merde knew it! We got a tip some people on Kusari borders have very interesting commodities we could use in our plots. I think the system is called La Kopler or some such. When in the neighbouring system, G...something we ran into SC-Zuiryu and SC-Zuikaku. These people's word vomit was flowing even faster than when we are interrogating a low level ex-Royalist. What we long suspected has been confirmed. The Gallic Union has been legitimised by The Kusari Government in something called The Treaty of Rishiri!
Quote:[] SC-Zuiryu: Shimamori: I am not sure if you know, but under the Treaty of Rishiri, your kind is outlawed in Kusari
Quote:[] SC-Zuiryu: Shimamori: the Union, being the legitimate representative of the House of Gallia, is the one which concludes treaties
[] SC-Zuiryu: Shimamori: under the part of the Treaty, discosed to the public, the Houses mutually recognise the and outlaw...
[] SC-Zuiryu: ...each other's entities designated as criminals
[] SC-Zuiryu: Shimamori: the Maquis befall under such a designation by the Gallic Union.

To sum this up:
  • The Kusari government legitimised The Gallic Union. After the pretences with which they attacked in the first place.
  • They openly signed a treaty of cooperation agains "criminals", and include the heroes that fight to avenge billions - The Maquis
  • They refuse to recognise that the ex-Royalists and their collaborators are in charge of the Union. These two did recognise the horrors of Leeds, but clearly their emperor doesn't care, and they will blindly follow whatever he tells them.

After this happened the usual scene played out as it always does with people that don't know The Maquis- they assumed I was going to run, I faced them both head on instead. Turns out a lightly armored rusting pre-Union era Vache can't stand against two cruisers. I didn't get my victory, but I got something we would have to pay for with a massive reconnaissance operation - vital intelligence.

The Union is openly in pact with Kusari leaders against us, and likely The Brigands and Kusari's outlawed factions as well. They are the only house that openly legitimised The Gallic Union and signed a treaty with them they enforce as far as beyond southern borders of Kusari.

They just became our highest priority target, after The Union forces and Union's domestic open collaborators. Treat them as such and show their forces no mercy!

I will discuss with our cell leaders the impacts of this revelation that came at a shockingly low cost of one rusted Vache and some of my blood. We must inform The Blood Dragons. We might even have to cease our entertaning bouts with the Chrysanthemums and form our own alliance. The Lapalisse Depot just gained in prominence big time. The Kusari Naval forces and Police came dangerously close to it and dared to attack us and The Blood dragons all the way near Ezo Ice field, right next a jump gate to The Union. Now we might know why. Next time we might not be so lucky in wiping them out - if it weren't for our meeting with the Dragons, our base might have lied in ruin already.

Our Tau-53 base just turned from a base for simple resource raids on miners to a vital asset for monitoring the Kusari-Gallia alliance, and cooperation with Kusari's underworld The Union has pacted with The Kusarian leaders against.

Subject:Cologne happenings

Some sort of action about to happen?

I just realized - I have no clue about what's going on with Rheinland. Only contact we had was some DHC traders supporting us willingly by sharing Military Salvage and Uncut Diamonds, and that freelancer that supplied us with Plutonium, and some Hessian engines.

Who is ally and who is foe? Our closest base is in Picardy - Rheinland is just so far removed that besides selling leftover Military Salvage to the junkers, and taking munitions back I just have no idea what to think.

And especially what are the intientions of this fleet advancing through Cologne?

Are they heading for Gallia? Is this some sort of a dispute between the various Rheinlanders in the system? I don't know what to think about the Houses. The Bretonians brough amazing devastation to The Enclave and strenghtened our position greatly indirectly. On the other hand The Kusarians basically thrust the Enclave into legitimacy, and started immediately allying with The Gallic Union against us with their treaty.

Should this fleet move into Zurich against The Navy I suggest assisting the armada - for all I care Zurich can be purged as it only has our main Enemies' assets. And in the meantime we should try to assess their intentions should they move further to Picardy.

You win some you lose some. Today we won, big time!

Not sure if EFL forgot our presence in Languedoc, but they seem to be very...lax in security. And just leave prescious salvage floating around. Well, I took advantage.
again
and again
In total we have stolen 8934 Units of Military Salvage from The EFL!

That wasn't all! Together with a Brigand heavy fighter we have Taken down 2 EFL gunboats right after!

It doesn't get any better than this, a huge victory for our logistics and combat morale!

Subject: Royalist Presence

It seems our home of Rousillion is getting much busy of late. Retreating Royalist forces have taken up residence across the system from us we believe as their patrols are being detected more often. Just tonight while Boucher and I were having a laugh ejecting a Maltese pilot into the vacuum outside Pamiers, some new squadron of king-loving shits rolled up and ruined our fun.

This gorup carries some transponder of Ori some crap and before fighters could be dispatched to counter, the grouped jumped the two of us and blasted their way through. Security around the Caussade project should probably be increased...

Worry not,

Roussillon is firmly under control. Vast majority of the ex-royalists are sitting on their cosy Union positions. If some strays still worship the king but somehow refuse the noble-ridden Union with all it's logistical might we will crush them easily like we crushed their king. The same king who, let's face it, we have probably killed since he hasn't been heard of since the Maquisards' succesful attack threw him into a coma.

I think Madeleine Rochon from Caussade pretty much sums up my thoughts.

We might task some junior auxilliary lancer forces to do more Roussillon patrols on the Caussade-Pamiers corridor, but believe me when I say I pray to god the stray cut-off royalists dare bringing any of their leftover large assets into the open. Cutting through them would be like carving a cake. We might even save some money on paint as we would paint the walls of the Caussade Drydock with their blood as we get ready to face the enemy with actual resources and power.

True heroes,
They are not born every day. But today I have found a natural. While waiting for UC~Tahtiherra to ferry me some fresh A-grade Nox from Marseille, this rookie, this beatifully reckless man, Joseph Savoy decided to assault the planetary defenses all by his lonesome, distracting them single-handedly for so long that our little Nox operation went completely undetected.

Needless to say, his talents might be wasted on the Brigands - rookie is clearly a prime Maquisard material.
When he inevitably got disabled I have saved the heroic Savoy, and we will see if we can get this talent to bolster our ranks.
