GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
HF's own leader was sighted in Texas today. In a valiant mission, most likely to safeguard the lives of his own forces, Drake Thastus himself went on a recon mission to scout the Texas area.
Cadet Callsign E-MOR engaged the enemy, but was able to eject quickly as his ship burned to a crisp due to the enemy's superior firepower. His escape pod was tractored up by the Olemiss, and he was granted an extra fighter the Olemiss had in her bay.
Due to Thastus's brave, if not insane act, I'm going to increase security in Texas. Thus, I am assigning Ensign E-MOR to the Texas Squadron, for now.

While on patrol of the California system, the frieghter, [SA]-Porter advised that he was under attack by pirates and Helgast in the Honshu system. I rounded up Ensign E-mor and set course to assist. I did not arrive in time to prevent the Porter from being damaged and forced planetside. We did arrive at Planet Honshu and engaged the pirate Skylanzer and the Helgast fighter Mcneo. They fled using hit and run tactics to disable Ensign E-mor and frustrated my battery crews. I have ordered new rounds of point defense drills. We played cat and mouse for almost an hour before I was joined by [SA]-Joe Davis. We lost the pirate Skylanzer but tracked the Helgast fighter to Sigma13 where we destroyed him. I consider the engagment unacceptable and take full responsibility for it. On an unrelated subject, my chief engineer reports that our shield generator has developed a harmonic imbalance and needs to be repaired at a shipyard. We are enrout now and should arrive within the hour.
