Booting from a cell phone? - Strichev - 02-26-2014

Assemble; you computer gurus of all kinds! For I, the great master of nothing need your assistance in a most insane of endeavours. Hold on to your hats and remember not to laugh. Too much.

Booting up a computer from a cell phone! Indeed there has been no idea more insane than this, apart from the intended removal of Zoner caps.

What do I want to do?

- do a clean install of windows from a cell phone

Any ideas how to make a PC think the cell phone is something like a flash drive? (preferably without frying the phone in the process)
I'm just curious.

Apparently yes, but it may take some work. http://www.azoft.com/spotlight/2011/05/03/boot-phone.html

you need to root the phone, and then install an isoimage app, and then have enough memory in the phone to host the image of the disc. if you can do that, then its the same as any other flash drive
