Scrap mining - Lythrilux - 04-04-2014
So what's the current status of this? I miss being a traditional Junker/ALG and doing scrap mining. Is it going to get rebalanced, or will it just stay useless the way it is?

I think the current state is inability to mine, with the server being down

Unfortunately, it was abused.
And I am guilty of abusing it.
However, the nerf bat applied to the Scrap commodity was needlessly excessive. It's now become another ignored item, just like Water and Oxygen. At least make it somewhat viable, please.

Yeah, it was OP. But it seems the dev team just lazily curb-stomped it over actually re-balancing it into a viable source of income.
Seriously, it's not hard to rebalance scrap mining 8|.

Yeah, just give it a single sellpoint like any other ore. And then adjust the field drops in every system based on the distance from said sellpoint.
You know.
So you can't sell it on a base which is INSIDE the field.

Uh. No, there aren't.
and scrap mining isn't the same like regular mining, for god's sake stop comparing between solo mining in a 5ker to a 2750 cargo ship.
Plus the fact that scrap is mined faster and has a lot more fields.

It's simple, the junkers are the most OORP hated faction (inRP are the corsairs, I know), so let's go to try that noone want to be a new junker by giving them the worst ships and the worst possibilities to mine.

It's probably not that at all. I just think it's devs taking the lazy route rather than problem solving (even with the community giving them suggestions).
