This is Phileas adressing you all from my office down at Houston.

As most of you know, we have two major project under way at the moment, with a third in planning stage.
To all who do not know, feel free to browse the <<< project files >>> ,
and both Fynn and I myself will be able to answer questions if you have any.

Also both Sturm as our CoE and John as our CoL are fully informed and can keep you in touch if the need arrises.

I will fly to Baffin shortly and will coordinate the next steps in our Baffin Service Station project, and wanted to thank you all for your support so far.

But actually this message is intended to be much more. I want to inform you in a summary about some changes and future developements, want to ask you for feedback and ideas , and generally wanted to continue a policy that our well known Foreman Fynn and I agreed upon as we where drawing up the plans for the trade union.
We work for a better life, and we work together. Sure, we have to set a certain hierarchy and organisation or we would never manage to achieve anything, but no crew member is more or less important than any other here at Tinkers.
Juniors are the lifeblood of the future, learning our ways and belonging to us, regardless of their background or heritage. You join Tinkers and leave your old life, and we so far have no members that have been "born a Tinker".
And seniors an the members who have prooven to us all that they represent us, that they have the experience, skills and knowledge to proudly say : I am a Tinker, from the Haven.
I want to thank anybody willing to serve our union as official, willing to live with us, fly with us, and do party with us.

1) Current officials

Fynn is still serving us as Foreman for the Haven, and keeping close contact to the unions main office at Houston.

Sturm has changed from CoL ( Chief of Logistics ) to CoE ( Chief Engineer ) to help oversee our main projects. Basti Legionnes is still tinkering for us, but is not working on organisational questions. ( // player is lost in RL )

John Kurt has taken over the post of CoL , and doing a good job at it.
Thanks for the sweat and time you invest, John.

Colonel Tudor is missing in action, and his office is vacant. Sadly Samwell Ginger has left us too, retiring to Houston and only serving as advisor. ( // player has left server )
We are still looking for a new CoS ( Chief of Security ) to supervice the escort and security division, as FinnMcKannon is willing to help out but will not take over the office again.

Doc Doreen Nagger is still our Chief Resident, and manages the Clinic and its affairs.
We are still working on continuing the Galena Park Project and opening a training and rehab facility on Houston and are expanding to Baffin as well.

Now for the news : we are looking for a capable administrator to care for T&T/ affairs at the Service Station in Baffin. I already have 3 applications on my desk ( // RP alt from myself ) and am still looking for more.

I will travel to Baffin shortly, and will stay there till I have coordianted the grand re-opening of the Shrine and found a capable and trusted administrator. The Tinkers Board of Trustees is interested in working on bettering our reputation in several directions, and on increasing our presence in that area.

2)Diplomacy and trade

I will simply generalize some developements here, and would appreciate feedback.

Enemies of our way of life

I will not go into details here, and ask that any more delicate information will not be discussed openly but in private or intern in Tinkers communication networks, but the general facts are no secret and can be known and discussed even by our guests.
We are no secretive group at Tinkers, even if we do keep some buisness to ourselves.

a)The major houses :

Liberty :
We do not love all developements here, and I was not impressed on how LSF or LN have treated either Freeelancers or Junkers lately. Still they are the officials around here. We will stay polite, and friendly mostely. It is wartime after all, and they are our local military and government. And even if we are blokade runners, and not always stay on the completely lawful side : respect to LPI. Our Landlords at Houston are a lot better that their reputation in my experience.
Bretonnia :
Well... my own home country is the place I love but its people are also the reason I left.
We will continue to support all bretonnians against the gallic Invasion, and wartime is a good time to make solid profit while running the blokade. But still : we will probably never get the respect we would like to have. Keep on running, Tinkers. We do it for the civilians, for people like you and me. Not for the aristocrats or all nice sounding titles in Sirius.
Rheinland :
Ah, our neibours from the other side of the Bering and Hudson gap.
Well, I think nobody is surprised if I say we would sometimes rather deal with the Hessians, at least from a ideological point of view. But as those Hessians dont respond : We stay cordial, and neutral. At least, at the moment. No fixed policies, except that we are allied to [ALG]. Always help out an [ALG] ship if you can.
Kusari:
The Kusari people have lived through a lot of changes and dire times in the last few jears. We have our differences, and especially the scrapping crews at the Haven have old hostilities to overcome. But we respect the Kusari as a folk that has often prooven its worth and its ability to overcome. We have friends over in your sectors, and enemies.
Kingdom of Gallia :
No hope of redemption. We support the gallic Council, and that fully.
The royalist aristocracy of Gallia is completely opposite side of our philosophy. Dont negotiate, dont bow down. And if you have to fight : call for help. Those folks know no fair play, and "pardon" or "parley" are just other words for surrender in their vocabulary.
Keep vigilante.

b)Major corporations :

We deal with you. We trade with you.
We respect a lot of you. And we are proud to call some of you our friends.

We thank [ALG] for their support
Accept the respect and trade opportunities that Kishiro| offer us.
Have had good experiences with some of BMMs subcontractors and with some of Gateways traders.
We respect and trade with IMG and we have had recieved very promising replies from OS&C and others too.

But we are no part of you. Your struggle for control and for domination is not our struggle.
We will trade with you, and make good profits with you. But we are proud that we do not live like you or join your ranks. We do not aid some good projects to cover up our company wars with a golden shine : we trade for people. To better life.

c)Black Market Contacts :

It is not a great secret that Tinkers run blokades, and sometimes operate outside of the usual lawful range of contracts. But we bid both members and guests or contractors to remember that we have a code of conduct and do not forget it. We do not smuggle drugs or artefacts, and even though we support the war effort against royalist Gallia behind enemy lines we will never trade with inferior or illegal munitions for a profit.
The same is true about slavery : we will actively fight against such unethical dealings.

d)Borderworld and Independent contacts :

To many of these contacts : respect
We pass the independent systems often, and have dealings in the Omegas, Omikrons and the Tau systems. But also a warning : we do not share the easygoing views on slavery or drug trafficing. And so we are getting increasingly hostile to Outcast interests or Corsair demands. Groups like TAZ or even ideologic followers of Hessian or Coalition teachings will be met with respect and friendship. But we have our ties and we ask for the same respect we offer to be displayd towards us. And to all groups opposing the gallic Invasion or the inhumane slavery offered to you through the so calles "orange dream" :
Well met, brothers and sisters. Place a call and we will come to your aid. We are no warriours even though we defend ourselves, But if you need supplies or support, medical aid or special deliveries : we will do whatever we can to support you.

e)Enemies of our way of life :

Our code is a decision.
Not a calling, not some unwanted duty, not some law that can be broken.
We decide to be what we are, and that makes us your enemy.
We will not bow down to oppression or tyranny, be it physical, social, or traditional.
We will not stop to be free because you say so.

3)Outlook to the future

We will work on expanding our contacts and our trade.
We continue to work on our Projects.
And we will continue to work on developing our contacts, our diplomacy and our humanitarian goals.

We are around, taking up the scrap of others to remodel it into something better.
That is our way : Even in bad times we will choose to make something better,
to be constructive. Not to destroy.
