Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
Bar Tender, Bretonian Police officer
Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
I was born and bought up in New London, My father died in action before I was born. He was also a police officer. Growing up, my mom taught me the principles of morality and to stand up for good. Not to take bribes and protect the innocent. I joined the police Academy at 18 in hopes of making my mother proud. I loved it, enforcing the law, hunting down pirates. But one day we received information that a convoy would be attacked. We killed the mollies in action and tractored a survivor for interrogation. He told us there were more attacks, but wouldn't tell anymore information. I suggested torture, but my superiors dissagreed. When they left the room I brutally beat the prisoner and took my side arm and shot his leg. Screaming he told me every single detail. I informed by superiors, although they stopped the terrorist attack, they discharged me for police brutality. But they could never make sacrifices for the greater good. I am convinced that peace cannot be achieved without brutality and war, Good cannot be attained without sacrifices. So I am applying to take the fight to criminals and terrorists who have invaded my home. To murder their descendants to achieve true peace.

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin:
Gallia

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?:
Core Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
- Ex-Ensign in the Gallian Royal Navy - 3 years
- Freelancer doing runs across Sirius for the past two years or so

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
Nothing really exciting to tell ya, being honest. Lil' Billy was born in your typical Gallian family, father in the Royal Navy, mother at home, the perfect picture y'know. Lil' Billy grows up to become like his father, joins the Royal Academy of Gallia for a place in the Navy and turns out to be a pretty average pilot. Now, I'll admit there's a possibility I got booted out of the Navy for 'insubordination', and I mean sure, I did go against my chief's orders but I ain't no suicidal guy. Think that's a pretty understandable reason, don'tcha think? So yeah, since I was kinda outta job after that, I just wandered 'round, making money as a Freelancer, mostly doing supply run and escort services across Sirius. Typical curriculum vitae for a pilot ain't it?

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?:
Money. I mean, a guy's gotta eat, ya know?

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?:
Let's see. Played two or three years ago before taking a break. I guess active playing must be around 6 months and a year

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?:
Nope. Yep. And yes, I got a basic understanding of what The Core is. (Been reading a lot of that information thread, being honest)

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?:
Not much really. Tend to stick in Liberty space.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?:
8 I guess. Did about 10 years of roleplay before taking a break.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?:
Pretty sure I'd be average so let's go with 5/10. Never played with big ships, always sticked with small to medium sized ships.

Why do you want to join the The Core?:
Well I mean. Roleplay with others is always more fun than roleplay by yourself so, you know.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?:
///

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?:
France, UTC +1

Finally, what is your Skype?:

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: The Core Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: I worked as a toy manufacturer on Los Angeles.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
I was born and raised on Los Angeles. My father was a carpenter and mother worked in a Neural Net talk-show. Since the early days of my life I was interested in the distant Edge Worlds and the frontier of human civilization. When I grew up, I started working as a child toy designer and got interested in flight simulators. RE: The Core Recruitment - Zephyranthes - 04-06-2016

InRP Form

Pilot Name: Ramesses al-Rashid

Pilot Age: 36

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin: Planet Gran Canaria, Omega-49, Edge Worlds (Supposedly)

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: The Core Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Freighter deckhand, Freeport 11 security officer and administrative aide, mercenary, miner

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better): My story begins on that planet in orbit of that blue sun in the Omega-49 system. Planet Gran Canaria was the place I came to know best during my formative years, receiving a humble upbringing from my adoptive parents, Josiah and Elizabeth Brown. Although I never knew my biological parents, they left my name with me at the doorstep of these fine folks who took me in. Despite loving me greatly, out of respect for my biological mother and father, the Browns insisted I keep my original name and perhaps find them someday. I have yet to do so, but it bothers me little.

After receiving a modest education, I signed on with a small Zoner freighter crew to earn some money on my own. It was aboard this vessel and on Planet Gran Canaria that I saw the exploitation of the populace of the Edge Worlds by raiders and vagrants that plagued the region. Corsairs, Outcasts, Mollys, Coalitioners, Red Hessians, and others all abused the civilian population to support their own irresponsibly-managed operations. It was disgusting to see how they tread all over those generous enough to give their homes up for only a little bit of gratitude in return. Those charitable souls received only cruelty because of that sacrifice for who they thought were their fellow man. As I continued to journey through the Edge Worlds, I felt angry at myself for not working to stop such wanton pillaging.

I eventually found myself settling down in the Omicron Delta system. I made a living for myself aboard Freeport 11 by breaking up the bar brawls and ensuring the safety of all aboard as a security officer. It was far from glamorous, having to lower myself to keeping drunkards from killing myself. After some time, I proved able enough to assist with bookkeeping, and helped the administration run the base. Receiving little income to support myself, I soon enlisted as a mercenary on a number of escort missions with a rented fighter I took out from the piles of junk moored at the Freeport. My efforts only secured a couple of lives from harm, and after a few years, I left the profession, dissatisfied with my work.

After some years, I found myself on Planet Nauru, attempting to eke out a minor living from the iridium mines. I figured that this planet would be safe from the bands of raiders that plagued space. The Corsair presence on the planet reminded me that even in the sands of Nauru, chaos was still the government form humanity lived by. I oftentimes was forced to take up arms to defend our encampments from Corsair bandits as we engaged in the dangerous iridium extraction operations so commonplace on Nauru. When The Core came to establish their dominance over Nauru, I saw a force that sought to bring order to this anarchy-ridden wasteland. The Nomads may plague our transports occasionally, but the true evil of the Omicrons, born from humanity, is one The Core actually eliminated from the face of Nauru with their destruction of the Corsairs. I feel compelled to contribute to the establishment of a society in the Omicrons where the rule of law is king, and have come to a recruiting station today to make my mark on the organization which now governs this desert planet.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: The various acts The Core has committed in the name of their goals is no secret to anyone who has lived in these parts. I will not be lured in by the ideological tenets presented by the posters and brochures I have found spread across the sector. Instead, I recognize the Core for what it truly is: A powerful organization that will stop at nothing to bring law and order to the Edge Worlds, regardless of what the cost may be. The Order neglects the populace of the sector by solely focusing on the Nomads. They fail to realize that much of the suffering can also be attributed to rogue groups like the Corsairs and Outcasts. Their oversimplification of our plight is insulting and useless. The Omicrons are better off without them. As a member of The Core, I shall uphold the civic virtues upon which peace and prosperity will be founded in this sector. And nothing shall get in my way.

Recite Our Motto: Dolor transit, gloria aeterna est.

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: Three and a half years.

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?: I have not played a Core character before, but I have read the lore.

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: Sufficiently enough.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: I'm full of myself, so I'm rating it an 8 or a 9.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: 2 lol

Why do you want to join the The Core?: Because it seems like a pretty good faction at its core (kek), despite the rep it gets.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: Nope.

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?: Florida, United States - Eastern Standard Time (-0400 UTC)

Finally, what is your Skype?: You have it.

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
- Nursery school teacher on Manhattan - 4 years education, 1 year regular employment
- Freelancing in liberty till one month ago

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
You may ask why a nursery school teacher from Manhattan decided to go freelancing in the endlessness and dangerousness of space? Good question, simple answer: Money. You know, you just don't get the money you need to survive on a corrupted planet like Manhattan. The city itself is just as dangerous as space. Criminals everywhere, and even some parents of the kids under my care were cardamine addicted, mafia-affiliated or in other shitty ways terrible persons. But in a kindergarten, you can't just run around, hiding a self-defense gun under the clothes. In space, you are one big gun. And the Core looks like it has the best guns. I heard some very good things about the Core and I hope I can participate in it's glorius rising... not as a warship pilot but as a transport captain. Someone has to do the lame jobs, right?

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?:
Money. Best equipment in Sirius. Money. Best pilots in Sirius to back me up if needed. Money.

Recite Our Motto:
Dolor transit, gloria aeterna est.

OoRP Form

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?:
I started playing Discovery when Core was BHG|Core and Gallia had that funny four-planetoid-phenomena. 2014, maybe? Then I took a break, focusing more on my work and other things.

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?:
I'm relatively new to the Core, I have my Core-hired mercenary Mako captain "Apahanta"/Ezrael Vertiga. I know what Core is like. Houses love it, Outer-Rim hates it, and everyone in the Core loves himself more than any other person. In fact, priority is "ME>MONEY>OTHERS", and "ME" includes CORE, at least in some people's opinions.

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?:
I know our ZOI, the nomad systems and the best ways to get in and out the omicrons. And I know the nav map.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?:
7. My two big problems are 1. I'm still new to Discovery and don't know most of the lore of other factions. I know much, but it's not enough. But that comes with the times, right? 2. I'm from germany, so I'm not a native english speaker. I understand 95% of everything said and written, but when it comes to write my own stories, I seriously need to take my time. I'm a skilled story writer since I'm roleplaying for over ten years, but doing so in another language is an entirely other experience. Again, that will come with the time. I'm probably not the worst.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?:
3 out of 10. Never won a duel. On the other hand, I try to avoid any battle situation by talking/negotiation. But I know how the PvP-basics in Discovery work. I hate flying snubs in battles. One second and you're down. I prefer capital ships, that's why I bought a Mako for my Delta patrol char.

Why do you want to join the The Core?:
I'm not a fan of that bad-ass appearance of some captains. That's the only thing I don't like about the Core, that's a kind of role I don't like to be. BUT! Core has the BEST ship line. Just look at the Mako, I will marry it! Also, Core has an interesting situation. I read Lyth's tl-dr version of CORE vs ORDER and the thing is, the houses like the Core and hate the Order. Core is the good guys in that situation. Order is terrorists. As a character that comes from Liberty, it makes more sense to join the Core than to join any other faction in the omicrons (except the lame zoners. Zoners are lame.)
Also, Lyth said that not every Core captain has to be an a-hole. That's where I wanna be.
NOT IN THE A-HOLE...

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?:
Apahanta - Core Mako Battleship, indi
L-Mercurius - Core Bison Transport (since APM has no own transport design, that need's to be changed!!)

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?:
Germany, CEST – Central European Summer Time (when the forum is at 14.00 pm, it's 16.00 pm in germany)

Finally, what is your Skype?:
- Only for Core members -
