Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: Core PM

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: IMG mining in the Taus, Trading in the Tau-Kusari-Bretonia region

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better): I've been a Niobium miner my entire life, I built up quite a bank doing so. I was bored with my job and I simply could not do it for much longer, so I took my credits and headed off to Manhattan to forge my future. On Manhattan I met a bounty hunter who offered me a connection to a job working support for a group in the Omicrons (being the Core), upon arrival and beginning my contract as a support miner my group was assaulted by a nomad squadron, which I survived only on accord of the Core navy, seeing the action the navy gets along with the opportunity for conquest and alien tech, I have decided to apply to be a pilot.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: I am seeking adventure, loot and glory, just anything that isn't hauling or mining, hopefully to spice up my time in the Omicrons, I am applying for the Core specifically because I find house militaries very restrictive and overly too passive, I want to join an aggressive active group that is out to make it big in Sirius

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: I own a fully kitted Manta and a fully kitted Orca

Applicants Ar Sogan, Kuno Kellinghusen and Jas McArthur,

Your applications have been reviewed and they check out. Consider yourselves preliminarily accepted. The Core believes in survival of the fittest, and what defines said fitness is up to you, which is why each of you will be tasked to do the following to showcase your savviness:

• Fully equip and load-out an armoured "Manta" AP-Line Very Heavy Fighter.
• Fly your Manta into the deeper Nomad Worlds, towards systems such as Omicron Iota and Omicron-99, and retrieve a single Nomadic material of your choosing.
• Do not get infected. Those people are always so frustrating to work with.
• Retrieving a Fighter remain promotes you to Guardian rank.
• Retrieving a Gunboat remain promotes you to Knight rank.
• Post a successful report of your expedition into this channel.
• This must be done without the support of ANY Core vessels of a higher rank present. However it can be done with other Initiates.
• Godspeed.

A word to Jas McArthur: I have had the opportunity to meet you once in Delta. Be aware that you will have to let go of your gunboat, as such things have to be earned in the Primary Fleet. Let's see if you can impress me, shall we? Climbing ranks should hardly be difficult for those with the correct mindset

Pilot Name: Zoey Winters

Pilot Age: 24

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin: Alberta

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: Preferably APM, however I can fight if need, given my Navy background.

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Navy Gunboat captain, some freighter pilot experience.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better): I was Navy recruit at 18, and a gunboat captain at 20. After commanding the Defiant class gunboat "Magnitude" for several years, I stepped down when the ship was brought in to be drydocked. Before my time in the Navy I worked for my father's company Freelance Trading and Mining, doing trade runs within Liberty bringing supplies to Navy bases.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: I want to get out of Liberty, see the rest of Sirius. My parents are retired, and running the family business is more my brother's trade. I've always been more of a "make my own way" type.

Recite Our Motto: *puts on best Latin accent* "Dolor transit, gloria aeterna est."

OoRP Form

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: since about 2011. on and off, of course.

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?: Never played Core before, I have read some of the lore, I plan on reading more cause it's awesome, and yes. The Core has potential to rival some of the houses one day. We just need to make it there.

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I've been around the neighborhood, but I mostly stuck to Liberty. Time for a new neighborhood.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: 8 or 9.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: PVP not so great; I'd say 3 or 4. I'm better in things that are slow, lumbering, and can pack a punch from far away.

Why do you want to join the The Core?: I align with the Core's values quite a bit. I usually play the Han Solo type character; rugged, brash, and does what he needs to survive, but also isn't a complete douchebag. Characters need depth. and I like depth.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: No.

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?: Canada, operating time is -6 CST (Central standard).

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?:Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:Military pilot,retired per request.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):Well, being born on Planet Hamburg is not much of a big deal.Having a family torn apart by the war due to call of duty made life hard for me and my brother,Lukas Eisenhauer, who decided to become a Hessian after the Military forcefully denied our father of rejoining his family after his ship was torn asunder by the Liberty Navy during the bloodiest hours of the Rheinland - Liberty war.As soon as possible,I took the example my father showed us and joined the Military to assist against the libertonians, however, after learning how to pilot smaller atmospheric craft, per request of the Military the first ship I flew out to space was an old Wraith the Military had decomissioned since the jump drives were disabled, thus making it an excellent ship of choice for fresh Cadets.Soon after the Military realized my capabilities of flying ze old, rusted and damaged Wraith,I was allowed permission to fly a real one,one with weaponry, jump drives, everything.Following zis,I was added to a group of Cadets for combat training, and might I say,the results I achieved were no more than satisfying for ze Military Command, since I came out first in my group. After a year in ze Military training facilities,I was finally ordered to assist a group of pilots who were engaged in Bering by ze Unioners. The results? The recovery of a Unioner escape Pod,along with all Military pilots safe and sound.Ze results were good enough for the Squadron leader to recommend me becoming a Squadron Leader aswell, however due to tensions rising sky-high in ze Omegas due to the Red Hessian activity there,The Military assigned me to a escort convoys coming in and out of Omega 7,whilst at the same time defending them from any hostile actions that would occur to these transports. All went well, until I met a Freelancer.Zis Freelancer, whose name I do not remember anymore, told me of ze possibility of exploring the systems outside of Rheinland. And so,with a bit of thinking,I requested Military High Command to be allowed to do deep-space recon,in systems that would otherwise be out of range for the Military to actually be able to send backup if needed.High Command did not take zis request lightly, however they did agree, one a fairly simple condition:If I choose to do zis,I shall be considered no longer part of the Military but at the same time I shall be allowed to keep my currently assigned ship and weaponry.I agreed. And so,with a little bit of exploring,I come to you,the Core.Considering how the Edge Worlds are far too dangerous for a lone snub to explore,I decided on giving up my freedom and possibly,if accepted, server a greater cause than anything else I have done or achieved so far.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?:The thrill of doing something for the whole of humanity and not just a House is most thrilling.Targets of opportunity and enemies far greater than most would imagine and ze possibility of actually doing my part, priceless.

Pilot Name: Edmund Schweighöfer

Pilot Age: 32

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin: Planet New Berlin, New Berlin System, Rheinland

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: The Core Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Militär logistics officer, Militär pilot, private security.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better): Born on 799 A.S on Planet New Berlin, I joined the RM shortly after completing my studies. Completed basic and officer training and was initially assigned to planetside operations in charge of small logistics missions. Later, I transitioned to a patrol wing, seeing a bit of action on the Hamburg-Texas front. After the cease-fire agreements between Liberty and Rheinland there wasn't much left to do, so I started taking freelance contract escorting ships through Sigmas, Rheinland and Omegas all the way to Bretonia and back. The pay and job are steady but there is much more left to be discovered out there and experienced. For the past couple of months I've been based out of Heisenberg Research Station, running private security for vessels coming in and out of the Koeln system, bringing in vital supplies and scientific equipment to the station.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: Adventure, power, structure and the money is a nice bonus I suppose.

Recite Our Motto: Dolor transit, gloria aeterna est.

OoRP Form

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: On and off years ago, but didn't stick around. Started playing FL again one year ago again. I've been playing the game on and off since '06 but Disco for about one year.

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?:Yes, yes and yes.

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I know my way around and I'm familiar with most of the factions and their lore.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: I'm gonna say 7, but it's context-dependent.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: 6, 7 max in snubs, better in bombers (basically OK but not so bad it's NPC level); aim isn't where it needs to be. I tend to perform better in gunboats and above.

Why do you want to join the The Core?: I've had an indie Mako and Moray for close to a year now and was part of the e-chat and participated in everything from Mu, Gamma raids to the Zoner-Core conflict/drama, so might as well do it under the Core| tag. Also, Wesker told me to.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: Yes, a Mako and a Moray.

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?: Canada, EST so GMT-5 (?)

InRP Form

Pilot Name: Kuno Jowarski

Pilot Age: 28

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin:
Planet Nuremburg, Munich, Rheinland (Origin)
Planet Curacao, Cortez, Independent Systems (Current Region)

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: Core Paramilitary

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Ex-Unioner, Bounty Hunter, OS&C Escort.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better): Well... Where to start? I was born on the cesspit Nuremburg; a little slice of industrial living provided by Republican and Daumann. So what was so great about this place? To start, anyone born here didn't exactly have high prospects of becoming anything other than a dock worker or miner; It boasted some of the highest pollution rates in Rheinland, along with lung cancer; Food prices were so ridiculously high because of the damn worms on it you'd spend all your earnings on rations instead of medicine or some heaters during the winter. Finally, it's got notoriously high crime-rates, and large portions of the planet are still abandoned from nearly a hundred years ago.

So with all that said, clearly this was such a great environment to start out in. I'd find myself abandoning my secondary education to go run with a gang by the age of 16. In my defense, this was probably a more sound economical decision, as the education standards on Nuremburg trail behind the rest of Rheinland. I wouldn't realize how bad this was until I decided to complete my education in Curacao where I'd find I was far behind on basic writing, and hardly any mathematics beyond algebra were taught too me. But, I guess I'm straying too far off topic. The gang I joined would rise above being a couple of muggers and find themselves allying to the Unioners and eventually absorbed into it as another cell. At this point, we were getting more than just a couple of guns to act tough with, we were given snubs to actually join the rest of the galaxy and play with the big boys.

Our crew relocated to Leipheim where we would intercept any shipping convoys headed towards Kusari through the Sigmas. We'd usually just get them to pay a toll, not wanting to risk getting the police to come down hard on us. We'd keep this up for about four months, and we did make quite a profit from it, but all good things come to an end. We were getting careless and complacent with our highway robbery, none of us had even experienced any real combat, and we didn't have the best coordination. We were intercepting another convoy, but this time he refused to pay. This came as a surprise for us, this is the first time anyone actually refused. We kept trailing them, most of us being too timid to open fire on them; in retrospect this was a really pathetic display, we came off as a bunch of beggars seeking alms as opposed to raiders. Well, they finally jumped through to the Sigmas and we followed them right in only to be caught in an ambush with the Police and Bounty Hunters lying in wait.

It was a slaughter, we went from a group of 17 to 6 within a minute. I managed to break off and got lucky with a mine killing two cops trailing me; more were in pursuit however with the Bounty Hunters, and I didn't have the slightest clue as to where I was going. I left a few more mines behind some asteroids, and again fortune favored me as the last cop fell for my trap. The Bounty Hunters were much smarter though, they took the mines out with ease and continued pursuing me viciously. We were now making our way out of the asteroid field, I didn't have cover left, but then I saw a bastion of safety, Freeport 8. I gunned my ship for all it was worth, I could feel my cockpit getting warmer from the engine overheating on the piece of junk. I managed to make enough distance between me and my pursuers that docking wasn't even an issue. Once inside however, my ship completely fell apart as the engine broke down... And the weapons... And the wings. Really, God must've been looking out for me to have made it that far. God's mercy is a tad bit cruel though as I was now stranded with no options for escape. It didn't take much longer after that for the Bounty Hunters to arrive, and they made it clear they could wait for me to rot on the station as they circled around.

About two days had passed while I was on the station, I left nearly all of my credits on Leipheim, so I began to sell parts and scraps of my ship at an extreme discount just get basic necessities, and a very very stiff drink. It was a day later where I was stumbling to my feet (in retrospect that drink tasted very shifty) in a maintenance shaft with a gun pointed to me that I realized just how screwed I was on this station. The gun pointed at me was held by one of the Bounty Hunters who was pursuing me from earlier, she introduced herself and explained the situation I was now in. My crew had a bounty placed on us by the Feds, however, individually we weren't worth a lot, it was simply the fact they caught us all together at once was worth the trouble. Since I managed to kill the police officers they were accompanying my bounty wasn't updated to match my risk. As such, I was basically worthless, I probably wasn't even more than $100,000 Sirian credits (and that's with inflation to the current standard) I was that small time. At this point with what they were saying, I had to wonder why they were even bothering to go come after me. Well, I apparently managed to impress them; evading 6 fighters on your tail and taking out half of them is no small feat. Though apart of me was just hoping she liked my pretty face but I know that's a lie. She went on to offer me a deal: I could either continue to rot on this station until I die, or I could turn myself in, get a reduced sentence, and membership into the guild.

Well, I think it's obvious how that turned out. I'll skip the details on prison though as I've found every other person in the hunting gig pretty much says the exact same regurgitated crap as the person who caught them and placed them there did. Still, 4 years of prison (A very light sentence for a "terrorist") pass and when my time is up I'm immediately contacted by the guild, good as their word. I was disappointed to find it wasn't the Bounty Hunter who offered me the deal who contacted me, but as it turns out, they died in combat three-weeks prior to my release. A real shame too, I needed to see some Hispanian curves after being in Wurstfest for 4 years. Still, they set me up with a ship and from there I went to Liberty to start making a name for myself.

Once in Liberty I found myself embracing the culture entirely. Picking up a love of the Jazz scene on Manhattan, ditching my Rheinlander accent, enjoying the hell out of every little vice offered. I seriously considered becoming a Libertonian, abandoning my Rheinland citizenship, that became very difficult to do however once the war between Rheinland and Liberty started so I put that on hold. Continued to do small time bounty contracts for years, never really joined into other divisions to get a bigger pay, made good friends in the guild though as I'd just spend all my earnings on having a good time and sharing that time with them. Visited every house space for contracts; I'd work with GMG in Kusari though as that house always treat Hunters with disdain. Eventually had enough earned up to go blow it in the Cortez system, where I found my next calling offering my services to OS&C. Okay, I actually just accrued a huge gambling debt, but I payed it back and earned quite a large sum more. It was also around this point I decided to complete my secondary education, and even start to earn a bachelors in criminology, until I realized how ridiculous the cost of tuition at Liberty universities get.

Now? Well, I've earned a huge amount of experience in life since I went into orbit around Nuremburg 12 years ago, but I still have a lot more to experience. Guild members have told me about the Core earlier before you became the great power in the Omicrons you are now. At the time I had no interest, but lately I've been feeling the need for something more structured, being independent is great, but I want to know if I can actually live up to that impression I left on the Bounty Hunters back at Freeport 8, and the only place I think I could do that is with the Core.

Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: As mentioned above, I'm looking for a more structured organization, have heard about The Core numerous times through other guild members, (some who now serve in The Core as well) and they spoke highly of it, along with the pay. Other reasons being that, getting off Curacao will probably save me a ridiculous amount of money. Finally, you're closer to Hispania, and I'll be damned if Hispanian women aren't a good reason to do anything.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: 5/10, I've had little PVP experience outside of a few scuffles. I prefer VHFs and Gunboats.

Why do you want to join the The Core?: Interested just to see what direction this faction is going to take after the whole FP11 Fiasco. Also interested in improving PVP and RP skills.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: I own a Manta for the current character registering.
