We all did, on Stuttgart. The son of a simple farmer. But this young soul needed more. I grew tired of this life and felt that there was more for me; that my destiny doesn't lie here in Stuttgart. At the age of 16 I moved to my uncle's place on New Berlin so that i could chase my dreams. By the age of 18 i applied to New Berlin's RFP academy where i was quickly selected and ranked in the top 10 by the time I graduated. I worked for the RFP for years, and brought my parents to live a comfortable life on New Berlin. I was tasked to patrol my home system until i had to leave everything behind. Word came that my parents had been killed due by unknown reasons except for the fact that extraterrestrials were involved. I was told to flee from Rheinland for my own good and fled to Freeport 1 where i lived for a few years. As time passed by, the fire that burned from the fuel of rage and vengeance grew brighter and stronger. A BHG friend of mine met in the bar on Freeport 1 one day and he told me about the best way to extract revenge. By signing up to a faction that will annihilate these creatures for good. The Core. Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Previous experience as the leader of a small private military organization known as the Piloci bez domów (Polish), or Pilots Without Homes in English. Defended against numerous pirates attacking Libertonian convoys and previously assisted the Liberty Navy in apprehending many criminals. Detailed Background: In my early life, everything was peaceful. I was the only child of a physics scientist father, and a working class mother. Nothing truly notable happened until I was the age of 18, when my father had me move into his realms of science. Within 4 years I had learned much about physics, including the creation, enhancement, and repair of shields, ship reactors, weapons, and jump drive mechanics. In the University of Denver, I specialized in engineering, space, and atomic/molecular/optical physics. After my time in college, things got more interesting. In 822 A.S., I set off to West Point Military Academy for a continual 2 years worth of a training course where I learned how to pilot a ship, lead a wing or convoy, how to head a capital vessel, and how to run a small military organization. After this, I would go on to form the Piloci bez domów, which at its peak consisted of 80 pilots, 8 of which were running eight Defiant-class gunboats, and two Archer-class destroyers, which meant 10 fighters for every larger vessel. We had no real place to live, so we usually stayed in Manhattan whenever we needed to sleep. The main goal of this private navy company was to Our entire arsenal of ships and weaponry was loaned to us by the Liberty Navy in return for our complete assistance in their matters whenever we were summoned. Thus, our first conflicts were in the last moments of the Liberty-Rheinland war. Later involvements were in contracts by several commercial convoys, and the occasional call by the Navy for us to provide backup in criminal pacification or eradication when needed. Unfortunately, the end of the year 824 A.S. concluded my leadership of the company, as it was forcefully disbanded by the Liberty government because we were no longer needed. Everything we had was returned to the Liberty Navy, and everyone went their separate ways. My wanderings brought me to this place, and I long have flown Sirius in search for work. Tired of roaming, I set my eyes on The Core, and their goals. Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: I am bored of what Sirius currently has to offer. Do you know what The Core is?: I have not played as a Core character, however I have read the lore, and I know what it is, and I know its truest, darkest goals. Well, only what you tell on the Info Thread. How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I never had any big reason to visit the Edge Worlds as categorized in the online Navmap, but I have explored them in previous gameplay, so no need to worry, I'm fairly familiar. How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: I would give it a 9 in full experience, down to 7 if I am fresh with a new faction, but as I learn more about how the roleplay works, the more experience I get, and that rating goes up. How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: I would rate my PvP a 7 in fighters, as I still need some more training. However, I can handle myself in a fair 1v1 or in a team fight, as long as I don't get focused down heavily. In capital vessels, it would be a 6 because I still need to learn about their proper loadouts and how to manage capital vessel power. Why do you want to join the The Core?: I'm looking for new things to do, and to me, the Edge Worlds and other non Bretonia/Liberty/Kusari/Rheinland systems are nice to look at. At the age 10 during a bring your son/daughter to work trip where all of the children would learn some of the ins and outs of Synth Foods shipping, Gray experienced his first ever contact with pirates. Luckily the transport he had been on only wanted a smaller some of money and part of the cargo on board. However that day forever sparked conflict in Gray as he now was obsessed with getting cargo to and from its destination without harm to it or the employees hauling it. Over the years he has worked hard and bought his own ship. He works constantly to upgrade his status as a cargo hauler in the world, upgrading his ship, trading up into larger more practical ships, and working on his trade routes. One day he hopes to seek revenge on pirates and dirty smugglers either by helping a force to end them by supplying goods which he already knows about, or even learning how to dogfight in the future in order to take them out himself. Why do you want to join The Core/APM?: To learn better ways to ship supplies, maybe even branch into The Core later. The Border Worlds seem to be the place to do it. OoRP Form How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: Discovery? I've been playing around with it for about a month now. Freelancer? I've been playing it on and off online and the campaign since about the time it came out in 2003. I have played on Discovery Servers before, but I'm not counting that as so much has changed with the later versions. Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?: No. Yes though I'm terrible with keeping track of lore. Yes, The Core is an independent entity with ties to the BH Guild and a claim on all of the Border World Systems. How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I'm mostly familiar with Beta,Theta, and Gamma though I would need to brush up on those as well. However that being said, if accepted I plan to run through and map all of the jump holes and such in game using the Discovery Navmap. How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: 7ish? I'm not a voice actor and probably wouldn't put on a voice. When I play a role I self identify with that role already. If I don't I won't play that role. So that is to say that I already enjoy the type of role that The Core offers and I will probably be a good fit just being me. That being said I understand that there is certain dialogue that needs to be had while role-playing and I have no qualms with that. How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: 6 maybe? I'm not sure, I tried a BH character a weeks or two ago, attacked a Red Hessian player, and about got smoked. I was able to disengage and run away safely, but I have a lot to learn. After the battle I immediately dropped the Manta for a Hammerhead because iI felt that if i had just that little extra bit of firepower I would have wrecked the guy. Unfortunately I have since managed to start a new character over top of that one so I no longer have access. Why do you want to join the The Core?: I like your alignments, your ships, your systems, and the fact that you may not always do the most lawful of things. I have always liked BH's too.
