I have the same feeling. I started with Eccleston, but Tenant was one of my favorites. Smith was great too, in that he wasn't as dark/serious as Tenant, but when he did go serious Doctor mode, it was intense. Loved that aspect.
Really hoping Capaldi goes back to how Tenent was, if not even darker.

Same here. Never got around to watching the show, even though I intended to for a long time. Recently finished watching Fringe, so I might look into this.
Last time I tried, I found the plethora of seasons, specials and so forth rather confusing. Is there some noob's guide to it? Meaning, where should I start?

Start from season 6,so that you can get the recent developments.
Tennant is the best doctor there is,I always hoped he will never regenerate.

Peter Capaldi's performance was damned good. The writing was excellent as well, even if it suffered a few pacing issues in the opening 20 mins.
I'm impressed so far.
