Community Event 20./21. Sept. , final planning stage - FynnMcScrap - 09-05-2014

Community event planned :

This is to be a open event, started in RP by a relief convoi to Leeds been taken up by T&T as a public relations event : Tinkers Haven has just reached Core 3 and we are officialy opening the Haven Memorial Clinic this month.
Also SRO ( Sirius Relief Organization ) will have its first convoi, and is still seeking supporters for humanitarian works.

  • Event part 1 : Forum and space RP : we wish to invite all Interested to an open RP event : The the opening event for the Clinic. We will open an appropriate Thread round about the 15.th of September to let all interested parties gather.
  • Event part 2:The relief convoi will start to Leeds ( 20.th of September ), and we want to invite all to a little competition : T&T and SRO are donating some Credits for prize money, so far the pot is at about 250.000.000 Creds and could still rise. Im ready to throw another 200.000.000 into a seperate pot for the *other side* if somebody is willing to help me with the organization there.

Remember : the Leeds resistance camps are only accessible from the sattelite at the back of Leeds, in Gallic territory.
And only freighter class vessles or smaller can land there. So it would need teamwork on the *good* side:
Escorts for protection, Liners or Transports for hauling and Freighters for ferrying the goods and the refugees to- and from Leeds.
All just about 9k from a Gallic Battleship ...
Feel free to complain about stacking refugees in a Transport like frozen fish with your lawful chara !
We appreciate that and fly Liners.
Also : The route passes Gallic Leeds, Bretonia, Magellan or Cortez and Liberty...
lots of ZOI involved and several factions with pro - and contra.

Competition prizes :
  1. Most supplies transported to the camps at Leeds
  2. Most refugees transported to Houston
  3. Most feared Pirate : ( exact specification still open )
  4. Most successfull Escort ( exact specification still open )

Suggestions still hoped to be realized :
Buff following Commodities for 24 - 48 hours on a Weekend :
  1. Food ( Leeds Refugee camp ) / currently at 684 , lets say to 1000 ?
  2. Pharmaceuticals ( Leeds / < I will have to check > )
  3. Refugees ( Planet Houston, Texas / currently at ~3800 ,lets say 5 - 6 k?)
I would like to have a commodity buff for 24 - 48 hours, so that even players not interested or not able to join the actual convoi could join in the competition. Prize money would be awarded max 1 week later to the player who sends me guncam pics prooving success.

Further donations to the Prize money would be included in RP background.
After all : its a public relations event !
We are aiming at a whole weekend ( 20.09 / 21.09 ) to let players from all time zones participate.
Both players in the Orga are experienced RP Gamers, but not long-time Disco members. So any advice on Disco related organization would be appreciated

60 + views, 2 Votes ? Perhaps because I set a visible Poll, hm ?

Quite dissapointing, and not the Feedback I would have expected.
Well, Im still planning, but it might just become a vew posts in the Forum and a bottle of Wine with friends.

And all of you complain that there is not enough action and interaction *laughs*

I would recommend you review the formatting of your post. It's a "wall of rainbow lines". I suggest using indentation and/or the list function. An easier-to-read post invites other users to stay and read the entire thread.

Code:
Indent:
[indent] <text> [/indent]
(Note that indentations within other indentations will cause them to stack for multiple indentation steps.)

Bullet point list:
[list][*] <point 1>
[*] <point 2>[/list]

Numbered list:
[list=1][*]
[*][/list]

RE: Community Event planned : pls Feedback - Hermes - 09-06-2014

I'm sorry for asking this question & please no one be offended.
how can you protect this event from the Teamspeak Multipurpose squad?
Just a Question for those who understand it
if you don't, then no need to bother by replying

regards,
Xenon

Probably I will not be able to protect it.

One of the reasons I wanted to get the buff, to stretch the event over 24 - 48 hours.
I think I know what you are talking about, even if I could not name alts.
The convoy is meant to be RP and occasion, so if we get flamed down ... Ill RP it out and flame from my POD ;-)

Its part of the game, so I have to accept the chances, and try and better the chances by hiring escorts and calling for help.
By sneaking and hoping, and sweating blood and tears.
But if a few folks band together to fly a tandem or trio run and send me the pics before or after my event
> mission accomplished .

RE: Community Event planned : pls Feedback - Highland Laddie - 09-06-2014

Well, when we ran Operation: Christma$ Miracle, we definitely got jumped by GRN forces...but we still managed to pull off ferrying the goods on/off planet by calling for help from both LN & BAF forces, who jumped in and engaged the GRN and bought us some time.

It was actually quite fun. But yeah...plan on getting jumped and have some Plan B, C, D, etc. ready.
