RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Doreen - 09-20-2014

Doreen was still shocked by what had just happened. A surprise bottle of Gallic white wine, his taking her hand and kissing it and an almost immediate, private dinner invite, all that from a man she had only spoken to on com before.

She took the wine and got up from the table to speak with her new medical staff. Mr. Walker and the others from the Xeno attack were doing well and not in need of any checks until morning.
"I know you're waiting for an arrival, Doctor, but I can get him admitted and will call you once the arrive," the assistant assured. "Go enjoy yourself while you can."
After a trip to her quarter to put away the wine and freshen up a bit, she called for the escort to bay 5.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Derkylos - 09-22-2014

Christina swaggers in, followed somewhat less enthusiastically by her brother, Jack, she elated after her delivery of supplies to Leeds right under the noses of the Gallic Navy, he somewhat disheartened by the whole ordeal, having only joined the effort on the recommendation of their father, and suffering from a fairly poor track record in the convoy itself.

Grinning, but exhausted, Christina soon finds a table of willing patrons to whom she begins to recount the much-embellished tales of her exploits, while Jack, marveling at his sister's sudden new-found energy, heads to the bar to get them both drinks.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - FynnMcScrap - 09-22-2014

Olsen noticed the two newcomers, and went over to greet them both.

Hey, the Hurthi family is welcome here any time. We just wanted you to know we appreciate your help.
And *he winks* you know you don´t have to use the trade lanes to reach us, huh ?

He then pointed them over to a group of Junkers siting in a corner of the Cantina.

See them there ? Thats the Crew of the Big.Buggy. Fynns original Crew, one of our Salvagers.
And next to them are some of the folks from our mecanics, and a couple of lone scrappers.
I´m sure they will throw a round or two as soon as they know who you are.
And the first round is on my slate.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Derkylos - 09-22-2014

Jack nodded and gave a non-committal grunt, then, with their drinks in one hand, he caught hold of his sister, who was in the middle of explaining how she had evaded 3 whole Gallic fleets, and steered her over to the table Olsen had indicated.

He nodded to those around it in greeting, placed the glasses on the table and pulled up a pair of stools.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Sturm347 - 09-25-2014

Sturm and his crew were drinking and they were discussing things about Tinker's Haven.
"Hey skipper, repairs for Salvage One's engine is coming along fine, should be done in a couple of days maybe. Should I push the repair crew a bit to finish it soon?" ask Mike. Mike is Sturm's copilot
"No need Mike," Sturm replied. "We got 3 ships already scrapping the Dallas fields and a couple of independents scrappers too, Last time I check, we're about 85% full. and from the looks of it, we're getting more scrap than we're shipping it out."
"I guess we need more skippers for the transports"
"Sounds about right."

Dave, pilot of the Texas Trader, walked in the cantina together Anne, pilot of Tinkers Guard.
"Hey Dave, come and join us. Olsen another round here"
both of them joined the group.
"I heard you had a run in with a pirate the other day just a few kilometers off Haven." he asked Dave.
"Actually he had a run in with Cap Bailey on Tinker's Pride, I just happen to arrive at the scene. I was ready to fire with full dulzian's on but Cap just bribed him off. He said on the comms that it was not worth it and that the guy had to make a living also. But boy, was I itching to fire at him though"
Anne also added, "lucky for him I was with one of the ships on a convoy, I would have blasted him with a razor." making some of the crew smile.
Sturm reminded her "You know Anne?, you're always on full combat mode, remember we're civilians now, you're no longer the BAF"
"Hey skipper, some of the boys were thing if you could ask the foreman about something."
"About what?"
"We were thinking that we can make our own docking modules, We got enough space in one of the docking bays to convert it to a docking factory"
"Hmm, sounds like a nice idea, I'll ask Fynn about it and see what he thinks. Tell you what, I'll send him a comm to make it an official request"
"Thanks skip. it would add some extra income for Haven"
"Well, still need to do some rounds, see you later guys"
Sturm stood up and left the group to do his rounds.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Vigilantes - 09-28-2014

"You really don't expect me to live here, do you?"

Zettsu and Seraph stood together in the doorway of their 'dormitory'. Well, it had beds. It also had running water. But not much above that. Both of them were a bit disappointed by it, but on the other hand what could they expect from Junkers. And it stood in very high contrast to Seraph's apartment on Manhattan or even cabins on Victory Rush.

"No, of course not," she answered his question, "We just need a place to stay. After that guy-- what's his face now-- ah, doesn't matter. After he evaporated we had to find another place to stay, you know. A place that wouldn't be as bloody obvious as a stolen dreadnought. There are rumours around Liberty about it and I would rather have it stay secret."

Zettsu sighed. "I heard they have some kind of a bar here. Shall we go check it out?"

They strode together through Haven's corridors. It was quite a few minutes until they found it. Seraph clenched Zettsu's hand.

"Try not to behave like an ass, would you," she said before they entered.

There were a few people inside and they did drag some strange looks, but they managed to find themselves a quiet booth in a corner. They took their seats. Zettsu unpinned his cloak and took off his scarf while Seraph waved at the bartender that no, they're fine, they've come here for conversation, not for drinks.

"So why are we here?" he asked.

"You know as damn well as I do what happened to Port Hope. We need support, Zettsu. We won't survive without other people. And Jilliana is not enough."

He did remember what happened there. It was a sad moment, when they realised that Port Hope would eventually crumble down into a ruin. They did what they could to stop that, but it wasn't enough. Instead of letting it drift through space, they salvaged what they could and loaded it up on Jillian's transport. Then they watched, with tears in their eyes as Bolshack launched the mortar and the station exploded. The rest was history.

He sighed again. "Yeah, I do. You don't need to remind me. But why can't we hold the rookies on Victory Rush? What is your problem with that?"

"You idiot," Seraph got red on her face. She had this strange ability, that she could whisper, but in your ears it sounded like the loudest shout a human can produce, "I've just told you why. We can't, and I repeat, we can't have untrusted people there. Bolshack has literally a death sentence on him. He's done a really good job with getting away from the public eye, but we owe him a lot. And I would rather leave him altogether rather than letting some rookie with loose tongue put heat on him."

"Okay, you have a point, I guess,"
he said and smiled, "Would you fetch us some drinks? I'm getting dry."

"Oh, please," she rolled his eyes and rose from her seat, "Pathetic gentleman."

She walked up to the counter, looking at the strange, bearded bartender.

Olsen had seen them enter, and now stood behind the Bar smiling at the pretty joung squadron leader.

Well met, Seraph.
Im Olsen, the bartender. What can I offer you and your friend ? First round is on the house.
And if you have questions or want something from my cantina staff you can nearly always meet me here.We can even arrange for your pilots to get a waypack that´s usable without getting a mess on your cockpit instruments done, based on synth gel. Quite usefull if you plan to do long flights in a solo fighter or bomber.

He cept buisy at the Bar, cleaning, sorting drinks and snacks methodically in his usual slow but effective movement.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Vigilantes - 09-29-2014

She looked around for something that could guide her on what was available, trying not to come in as a rich snob. On display she only found some hard alcohol, something she wasn't quite fond of.

"Glass of wine," she risked, "white, preferably, for myself, and a cup of mint tea for him."

She turned around, leaning against the counter while Olsen prepared the drinks, looking at people in the bar. She then noticed a familiar figure entering the canteen. She waved at him and showed him to come closer.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - FynnMcScrap - 09-30-2014

Fynn had experienced a hard day, and the anger straining to break free was boiling under the calm facade he tried to show. Still, all who knew hin could see the stress in his face as he crossed the cantina floor and joined Seraph at the bar. He nodded to her and pushed a PDA tablet over to Olsen.

Here, the latest figures for you and your staff. Should cover everything currently needed, and I updated the figures for the consumed goods needed for the refugee program as you requested. We will have to be carefull here, they really seem starved, and as soon as Doreen has fixed their injuries and they realize the are not going to be shot at or dumped into space here at the Haven they get a healthy appetite. Thank you for sending your cook to my office, Olsen. I really appreciate that.

Olsen only grinned and took the PDA without checking it, put three fresh wine glasses on the counter and ceremoniously opening a fine bottle of white wine.
He then nodded at Seraph , put the bottle before her and turned to prepare the Tea.
Fynn sighed, shot an amused and still slightly cross look at Olsend broad back and looked at the hesitating Seraph.

Oh well, and to top it all one of the Paramedics passed me a rumour that seems to be circulating under the civilians at Houston. The grapevine knows for sure that the Memorial Clinic is just a forefront of Junker bonecutters killing Bretonian refugees to sell their organs on the black market all over Sirius, and the lucky ones get sold to Kusari as Slaves or can pay to be smuggled to Rheinland by *donating* a kidney. I wonder who invents such stuff ?
Oh, and Seraph ? Did you know that you and your friends are wilde infested ex- LSF ?

Fynn shook his head in disgust

The other rumour I heared is that you are actually Rheinland espionage officers sent to disrupt libertonian trade.
Do me a favour and pass on word that we only pay rent here, will you ?
And pour some of that wine , will you. I need a glass full of sunshine to clear the cobwebs in my head.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Vigilantes - 09-30-2014

Seraph took the drinks and they both walked to their booth.

"Fynn, that's Zettsu, I suppose you've met him in space already but I don't think you had the opportunity to meet in person," she introduced. "That's Fynn McScrap, long story short, he runs this place."

She tasted the wine while they were shaking hands. "Hell, that wine is really good! Quite frankly, I wouldn't expect you to have such delicacies here. And as far as the rumours go, I don't really give a damn and you shouldn't either. I know an awful lot of people dislike us and I honestly couldn't care less. We aren't going anywhere, so they'd better deal with it."

She took a sip from the glass. "Although, let's be real, most of them are just sad that their so beloved Cardamine shipments are being shot down. Apart from these bloody Hackers there weren't many pirates. The smugglers are the main problem now."
