The year is 2078 CE. The nation of Bulgaria has been looking for a way off of Earth. The country has been falling apart and its leaders have been seeking to acquire their own means of leaving Earth to begin a new life far away from the strife they have been enduring. The opportunity became a reality when a rather genius young boy was born showing astonishing hacking abilities. The Bulgarian Government used this boy to infiltrate top secret intranet locations that stored blueprints for systems on prototype sleeper ships that were being designed. These blueprints allowed the Bulgarians to begin the painfully long process of designing their own sleeper ships. Thankfully this revolutionary boy gave the Bulgarians a nearly impenetrable security system for the secret underground construction platform being used to design this new vessel. This, coupled with an outstanding new Foreign Policy formed an increase of imported goods from both the Westerners and The Coalition, evenly enough that neither side noticed the massive amount of resources that Bulgaria was now acquiring.

By the year 2159 thru the next generation of offspring, they had managed to finish building one “Sleeper Ship” they designated “Pegasus”. The target planet for this ship was KOI-3286.01, later designated “New Earth”. After the signing of the Balmer Treaty in 2160 and the unfortunate betrayal of the Coalition, the Bulgarians had even more a reason to get out of this hellhole! By the beginning of 2160 they had launched on their mission, and spent want felt like a split second in cryo-sleep on their long journey.

The first too awake were startled to discover, on first approach they spotted remnants from an unknown race containing derelict ships! But there main mission was at the forefront of their minds. A new colony was to be established on New Earth and terraforming was to begin. The planet was only a short trip from their current location. After establishing a starting colony, the fleet sent a Research Ship to explore the derelict vessels and it found unknown debris containing technology that bewildered them. After the end of the research and recovery mission the small ship returned home with some of the remnants and lots of scanner data. The Best scientists from the fleet spent many hundreds of years researching that debris with no success. Finally some progress was made and the fleet was able to incorporate some kind of new Jump Drive Technology but it was unstable and deemed too dangerous to use. There was no telling where you would come out at. The year is now 763AS, and The Bulgarians have established a thriving colony on New Earth. They had to focus on the large amounts of nebulas and asteroid debris fields that were scattered this system because they could not find any other planets to colonize within a reasonable distance. A small group of Rebels who never forgot the lessons of Sol, broke away from the Bulgarian faction, claiming that the Government needed to be changed. There was a lack of individual freedoms stemming from Bulgaria’s outdated social system. The Rebels began launching small guerrilla warfare like attacks on important depots and construction facilities on New Earth. Using there guerrilla tactics they were also able to hijack the experimental Jump Drive for their own use. Hiding underground, the Rebels managed to last 57 years in this conflict. Unfortunately, though they were also beginning to lose the war… It was now 820AS and everything was about to come to an abrupt end.

Within moments an alien fleet of Unknown ships, similar to those found at the derelict sight were in Planetary Scanner Range. They approached at a high rate of speed; so fast the Bulgarian defenses barely had a chance to launch fighters and activate defense platforms. As quickly as these beasts arrived, they began decimating whole cities with little to no effort. The Rebels noticed this destruction and realized they did not have a chance in this fight. So they did the only thing they could think of. They ran, hopefully one final time!

A small contingent of the Rebels best scientists, military and leaders made a daring escape from the planet with an attached prototype of the jump drive that was salvaged off the alien derelict vessels hundreds of years ago. Many fighter pilots gave their lives to get these people to safety. The ship with the prototype fired up the drive and made an uncharted jump. Within a blink of an eye they were in a new area of space, unknown to them. They soon would learn, this new space was Sirius and that the inhabitants were all too familiar neighbors they used to have in Sol over 800 hundred years ago.
This is the begining of the Pegasus Pilgrims!

How is this part different from your last try?

Still quite powergamey.

Agreed, its impossible that neither the Alliance or the Coalition would of not noticed, also impossible that the Alliance would not of noticed someone hacking into their most top secret project at the same time.

Actually to be honest; what policy? Both factions were at massive war, there is no possible middle ground, and where did you magically construct this sleeper ship in Sol anyways? By the time the other sleeper ships left, the remaining people would of been screwed due to the nomadic super weapon destroying all of Sol

Now, I'm not going to tear into your idea - it took creativity and work to get this far, and I'm not going to belittle it or you.
But here's my thinking on this whole thing;

There is already a hugely rich framework of nearly 100 factions that have existed on this server for years.
Lots of depth, thought, hard work, debate, and community input have been poured into this tapestry that is the Discovery mod.
Why not start off with an under-represented faction first, get a feel for the politics of the mod, and then start working on an individualized faction?

Coming in, essentially 'off the streets' and ignoring this pre-existing structure is going to do two things;
1) it's going to anger people who have busted their humps to refine this whole rich and diverse structure.
2) it's going to end inevitably badly for you because of reason #1.

Starting your Discovery Mod experience with an 'out of lore' faction and demanding that it be accepted is, and will be perceived as belligerence, considering the wealth of work put into the mod by a wealth of players prior to your arrival.

I really think you ought to try out an existing faction, and make it your own, as most everyone here has done.
If later, once you have full understanding of the mod and it's structure, you want to take a stab at launching a completely new faction, go for it.

Also, how the hell did the Bulgarians even know about the sleeper ships?

RE: Pegasus Pilgrims - Information & Feedback - Marburg - 09-21-2014

I'll go ahead & bottom line some things for ya:

You are too in love with a flawed idea.

You have proven that you are not open to adaptation

you have shown that you lack the capacity to be a leader

These ingredients are crap

IMHO, abandon this idea entirely until you learn more about disco lore & are emotionally ready to try again with a wiser mind & cooler temperment

As it stands now, the only change you've made is a geographic one, & that's really no change at all when you get down & dirty on the bottom line

It's probably not a good idea to re-open a locked thread. I see you've made some minor changes, although looking at the content before this, the difference is very little. We're sticking a lock on this one as well so it doesn't go downhill like the others.
