Arranged meeting with Flora - Daerune - 10-23-2014

Daerune sat at the freeport restaurant with a device on hand, his fingers rubbing at the scruff of his beard in thought as his gaze continued out the window. having groomed and prepared, he sat in what would be considered formal wear which was in part that his other clothing was a little to casual for the meeting of others. rolling up his sleeve he started to use the PDA device strapped to his forearm to relay a message, after which in sending he took headphone plugs from his pocket, plugging them in as he listened to music to kill the time, his eyes fixated on the background image on the PDA of his twin brother.

Flora entered the restaurant and looked around curiously. Meeting a random guy after having a random talk across the whole Sirius wasn't a thing she was used to. She was wearing a tight black jacket and dark-blue jeans. The only visible jewelry was a dark-green bracelent on her left wrist. This was probably her most formal outfit since she joined Gaians.
She brushed aside few stubborn locks of her hair. The restaurant was fairly empty, with few people scattered across the room, talking or eating. Flora noticed a lone man sitting near the window, with a PDA on his arm. The very same man that suddenly popped out on her comms few days earlier. She shruged slightly and slowly approached him.

In the reflection of the glass the man caught sight of the approaching body, focusing on the reflection he would make it out to be Flora in which case he would remove the ear plugs and rolled his sleeve back over the fore-arm mounted PDA. his features turning from the stoic to a more expressional quality as a smile came to his lips and eyes genuine in all respects.
"Well, at least both of us made an effort, not feeling so out of place." his eyes motioned over what she wore as a gesture. "So you have your meeting." his hand gestured to the seat across from him which a menu was waiting, containing options for both liquid and solids. "I heard you recently had a run in with a BPA - your not the only one I randomly talk to."
He picked up the menu looking through the options though having already done so before, he at least intended to make a show that he had waited. after sometime he would close the menu and ordered a simple roast along with some wine. "Feel free to Order what ever, I believe its a common etiquette that a male pays for these type of events, unless I am mistaken?"

Flora took the seat and looked at Daerune with a faint smile on her lips.
I wonder what else did you heard about me. - She picked up the menu. - I'm still under impression that I am the less informed one here.
She browsed the menu for few seconds before speaking again.
No, you aren't mistaken. - She smiled and ordered a glass of wine and a fish. - Now, I don't want to be rude, but I wouldn't mind to hear something more about you. After all, I know only your name. - She looked at him and giggled. - Right, I've forgot that I need to be more specific.
She stopped for a moment as the bartender came in and put on the table a bottle of wine and two glasses.
Tell me, where are you from? Why are you, as you called it, "wandering the stars"? Why are you contacting random people across Sirius?

His brow lofted at her words, his hands moved to lace his fingers together and he'd set his elbows on the table his index finger's gently touching against his chin. "You know its an odd occurrence that most people feel like the least in formed with me, but that's generally because the seek to ask vague questions and only get vague answers, you have already asked on my origin, Breatonian born, how ever raised in the Omicrons, unless this is another one of your tests, Zoners fostered me for a while until I desired a greater freedom even then the Zoners - contacting random people often leads to interesting conversations."
He motioned a hand towards her as a way of an example, he lent back in his chair as his hands fell to his lap still with his fingers interlaced. "Wandering the starts is more of the - romantic way of saying that I just drift from place to place, hardly a desireable thing for some, complacency was always be weakest point - So, tell me, is Flora your real name? it is a bit of an oddity and a bit of a coincidence your name is also something of nature, which the Gaians are all about, so I have come to assume, either its a false name or that you've been raised within the Gaians."

Yes, Flora isn't my real name. It was given to me shortly after I've joined Gaians. Don't bother asking for the real one. That's one of the questions that I'm not willing to answer, sorry. - She stopped for a moment and looked through the window.
Tell me, how do you keep running? I mean, drifting from place to place isn't the most profitable thing to do around, yet you aren't looking like a poor fella. Bounty hunting? Trading? Shady deals? - She smiled faintly and took a sip of wine.

Daerune's lips curved into a gentle smile as his head shook. "Nothing of the sort, mostly just escorts actually, I look for ships heading to places I feel I might wish to go with and sign on, I have a respectable record of being an honest pilot, which holds weight and I get to fly with them, I am not someone with expensive tastes, a book here and there, music and I am pretty content to continue drifting, food fuel, i am not much one for luxury. I am not running, merely I am one who wanders."
In response to her admitting that it wasn't her name he only inclined his head. "I am sure you'd only tell those that you can completely trust, such as your crew, it seems you have a few in your crew, did any of them try speak out against this? I mean, I could be a crazy axe killer, for all you know."

Flora giggled.
Yeah, of course. They tried. One told me that you could be a psychopath, second one said "do what you want". And here I am. - She smiled. - On the other hand, I'd love to see someone trying to kill me with an axe here. I bet it'd be quite a show. Also, no, not really. Only few people know my name. Even my crew doesn't know it, and no one really minds that.
She stopped for a moment and took a sip of her wine.
Wandering around, meeting people, being free... You sure have a really nice life. Sometimes I wish I could just leave everything behind and go see things... - She started to look through the window with a dreamy face.

Daerunes brow rose. “Noted, so next time someone tries to give you sound cautioning advice, least we both know that now you discount it in the face of. ‘Meh, do whatever.’ In ways of encouragement, if only other people were so easily convinced.” He gave a pause while studying her features as she looked out the window. “Well a life without obligations is hard to achieve being you have to not get attached to anything, remarkably simple for some, but some have too much sentimental attachment that they only find it a burden to be free of chains, it’s a nice life but not exactly the safest, besides I am not completely free, I still have to rely on society for some things, so in a way I am still a bird in a cage – your freedom would be on that Planet Gaia without any tools of society and living like an animal, harsh life to have ones freedom.”

She remained silent for a moment and kept looking through the window as she spoke.
Freedom doesn't mean that you have to isolate from the society. You don't need to live in a cave or somewhere in the jungle. Freedom is when you're the only one that bears the responsibility for your actions. Freedom is when you depend solely on yourself. And I dare to say that complete freedom is something unexistant. You'll always depend on something that is beyond your control. You'll always depend on oxygen, you'll always depend on food, you'll always depend on water. You'll always depend on others. - She looked at him. - You'll always depend on Gaia. - She stopped and took a sip of wine.
You can't get complete freedom, neither as a unit nor as a group. You'll always need something from Her. People know that, and yet they're hurting Her. - She sighed. - And as much as I'd love to just explore the wonders of this universe, I have to stay and protect what we depend on. What we need. What we are part of... - She sighed again and fell silent.
