T&T/ Voting logfile - Tinker and Transport - 10-27-2014
ooC Thread
As described in our faction information and the original inRP founding declaration, Tinker´s is not really a corporate firm, even if we share a lot with such entities.
Rather we are a cooperation of members and shareholders, like some sort of sci-fi oligarchy.
Though the Officials have the freedom to decide on relevant topics about their own departements most decisions are *called by vote*.
That is, once a topic has been raised a member or Official sets a timelimit till when this shall be decided ( maximun a week normaly ) and all members with voting right openly declare their vote.
Most of this has so far been done without notice in the Forum board, but now some of our members do not use Skype for excemple, and we will set up a notification board here. Senior members with voting right pls send a PM with their vote to FynnMcScrap ( 1iC T&T/ ) or an announced step-in in time so that the vote can be registered.
All player members only have 1 vote per topic, all topics will be notivied here regardless of using skype or not , and all voted decisions will be posted in this thread by 1iC or 2iC anonymously.

The Yamamichi-gumi is a well established criminal organization within Kusari, although it has only been very recently that they have taken the foray into direct intervention in interplanetary concerns....
This new player group is interested in diplomacy with T&T , and has requested docking rights at the Haven.
Docking rights have been granted and will be reviewed through our senior Members during the next month.
So far docking rights are granted on trial, and can ( and will be ) revoked if the need arrises.
Any Senior member willing to call a vote on this matter may do so either public : here in this thread. ( Or in our Skype chat. )

There is a discussion at Tinkers, inRP and ooc :
This thread is to reflect that, and to inform members like Doreen who do not use our Skype chat.
inRP this discussion is discreetely done in private, without any guests at the Haven hearing about it except for the scrapper crews ( who are after all members at Tinkers, only loosing their TAG because of Server rules currently , and we are working on that ).
If anybody wishes to RP a different path, we will react accordingly, playing it out.
I would greet some feedback first, to avoid any powergaming on either my side or from members.
Fact is : After the issue with LH~ we are now discussing a treaty with the Hackers, and part of this buisness partnership is sparking some bad feelings between Tinkers members.
Remember : Tinkers are a quasi-lawful group, "white-collar" , no lawful faction.
Even if we take care to keep our reputation as clean as possible, and are strongly interested in humanitarian aid we are a small group doing what is necessary to survive between big corporate Interests, Sirius Politics and cold space.
We have always been allied with the Junker congress, even if this has not been called upon often through congress members. Part of this alleigance was Intelligence data : passing on the position of Liberty Forces ships to a incoming smuggler convoy ect. Even if we do not carry Cardamine ourselves we are still friendly to those who do, seeing it as a sort of affliction they can maybe be cured from, some day.
But the Lane Hackers want us to go further :
They want us to pass on information on targets for piracy and extortion, not only on lawful forces hunting them. They offer us a chance to salvage the bounty they pirate at some lanes for that ( also giving us a chance to rescue any crews as a byproduct ).
This point is not fully decided jet, but even if we decline active Intelligence ( pointing targets ) I am very much inclined to passing on defensive Intel and salvaging cargo and crews.
Picking up "salvaged stuff" , even rescuing crewmen from pirates is not unusual to Tinkers either : we do the same for AFC , only that this is mostely done at their hideout and not in scpace. Meaning there is no direct interaction with other players and this only being staged as background RP.
So : By Server rules and RP background the offer is set correctly, even if it will probably not make us well loved. But it´s legit. Think about that and let it sink before you decide.

This is quite an important decision for T&T/ , and as usual I try to let my Tinkers decide with me, not to dictate everything. But also : I bid you think about it in a RP context, not in ooc context only. We would "profit and split the profit with the hunters", jes. But also we would be able to minnimise the impact on civilian lives, letting those crewmembers who survive free.
And we would not be pirated ourselves.
Of course our stance toward humanitarian necessities also means that very soon reports of us cooperating with Hackers would reach lawful forces as we will never yus jettison a patient because he has seen something. Meaning we would probably be closely questioned and would once again be "those quasi-lawful scum" . Suits me, really. :-)
Even if the RP will not be easy...
Look at it my way : We will never pass on Information on allies or friends. But neither the Freelancer crewmen nor the Junker scrappers have a reason to love the big corporations or the lawful forces. We have lost 200 crewmen as our first base was destroyed, and our requests for trade or help have mostely be ignored or extremely delayed.
On the other hand we also continue to deal with LPI and other lawfuls in Liberty, and we will always be sitting between outlaw and lawful interests.
Option 1 ) we deny the Intel but accept the cargo pickup.And try to keep as neutral as possible.
Option 2 ) we deny agressive Intel, but pass on defensive Intel.
So we help the Hackers to evade or engage Liberty Forces while we do not pinpoint traders. Still dangerous, and could quit the entire deal. But fully in style for us.
Option 3 ) we fully pass on Intel, while we accept the Hackers as buisness partners.
So we would be allied with .:J:. , have a treaty with LH~ and pay fealty to LR- .
But also we would have more than a few problems with LPI and Liberty Forces.

There is a new vote to call by all Senior Tinkers :
Sadly both the Character "Colonel Tudor" and the Character "Basti Legionnes" have been missing for a while, due to RL pressure. While we miss them and will greet them back any time, both do have an office in the T&T structure, Tudor filling the role of C1Sec ( Chief of Security ) and Arne filling the role of C1E ( Chief Engineer ).
I am overworking the faction threads soon as our request to gain official faction status and aquire a seperate and workable ID is nearing its timeline in a couple of weeks.
We have to show that we are aware of and fulfilling the obligations of an official faction.
So we need to be up to date.

I hereby call a vote according to our faction rules, enabling all Tinkers Senior Members to cast their vote on these 2 topics : By voting you decide wether or not the current officer is fulfilling his role and will remain in office or if you wish to see a replacement of office in near future.
- Vote on status of office : Chief of Security
- Vote on status of office : Chief Engineer
The vote is set to last till : Sat. 20th march . Vote can be either open or private , as you prefer. If voted out of office, the members will still remain senior members of T&T and will not have any other disadvantages, but the office will be available for somebody interested in taking up the responsibility of the forum and inGame RP office. Application to the office is possible for all Tinkers members ( senior status not required but appreciated )
- Reminder on senior status :
After a month of flying with T&T/TAG any Tinker member can call for a vote on his status as senior member, tzhus gaining full voting right in decisions such as these. There is no automatic upgrade, as being senior member means : caruing about the faction, and participating in the RP of the faction. We can not force or demand that, but we offer a chance to do so to anybody interested.
- Reminder on faction activity :
We currently are in the process of possibly gaining official faction status. Meaning we can maybe get our own , specific ID ( Junker/FReelancer mix tailored for T&T/ ). Meaning also we NEED activity. Pls : If you have a Freelance ship you use while trading with the Haven, and if you want to support Tinkers Haven and the faction : TAG it, and remember to have 1 hour of faction activity at least per month.
