" BPA units restore order "

Hello, this is Ellen Collingwood, and tonight we're broadcasting straight from planet Cambridge, where some protests in one of the smaller cities on the southern hemisphere turned violent.

According to our sources, protesters are local farmers and workers, but also refugees from resettlement camps. Our informant says that crowd was outraged when local authorities refused to listen to their demands due to difficult war situation. As we managed to learn, protesters demands are more relaxed working hours, extra food rations and lessening some of the most burdensome obligations brought upon every Bretonian by Wartime Civilian Service Act, basically ensuring almost-free labor for the Bretonian goverment and its assets if a person is enlisted to Auxiliary Civilian Corps, paramilitary labor organisation providing manpower and services to Bretonian-controlled companies and certain govermental departments, such as almost-free work on BMM stations, or help with planetside fortifications construction for the Ministry of War, without any payment at all.

Protestors were outraged when the local authorities refused to fulfill their demands, attacked and sacked town hall. Arrived BPA units answered with tear gas and water cannons, subjugating the most hot-headed of the protesters, but these people are saying that it's not over; it's not over, tomorrow they will return here, and they say they will be demanding their most basic rights to be respected.

We will be staying in the area and monitoring situation closely, stay tuned for more news. Especially for you from planet Cambridge, Ellen Collingwood, Bretonia Today.

Good evening Bretonia, Ellen Collingwood on this side, again from turbulent city of Richmond on the southern Cambridge continent.

Although reinforced BPA units were able to restore order in the historical center of the city last week, there were reports of low-level unrest in the suburbs for the whole time since that; even curfew and special armed police patrols couldn't fully pacify inhabited by workers and refugees slums. Burned out steel skeleton of townhall is a testimony to rioters' fury.

We were told by a group of protesters, these people intend to return this night to the center, and again demand "the most basic rights", as they say. City authorities already contacted district governor, and more BPA units are being dispatched to the city and its area. As we unofficially learned from the sources close to governor, some of Police units were issued with lethal-grade small arms. At the same time, our source assured us there is no plan to actually use those arms, those lethal arms, and that it's "just in case, but of course that won't happen."

Crowds started gathering in the suburbs since the early afternoon hours, and as I see as we are talking now, constables are fortifying central square of the city, with majority of authority buildings placed around it, sacked townhall included. We see barricades from sandbags and barbed wire are being constructed around buildings, and on the streets connecting central square with the rest of the city.

This surely will be another violent night for the city's inhabitants, for law enforcement forces; and of course for the protesters themselves. Reporting from rioting Richmond on planet Cambridge, Ellen Collingwood, Bretonia Today.
