Renewal of Royal Charter, #506 P1-4 (Borderworld Exports) - Dieter Schprokets - 09-21-2008

Minister of Defense James Ralston reviewed the draft document carefully, sipped his port, and dictated a response.

"Sirs

The Ministry agrees with all your terms and conditions, save one comment.

We would ask that the rate of taxation be increased to 1 Million in 40.

However, it is recognised that the Constabulary will wish a similar arrangement, and taken together, the payments from Bowex to the BAF and BPA will amount to 1 Million in 20.

This arrangement may not be acceptable to the shareholders of Bowex. (Which the Crown has a majority share in, and consequently, we are to some extent, paying ourselves. But be that as it may..)

If 1 Million in 40 cannot be accepted by Bowex, then the proposed rate of 1 Million in 50 will suffice.

Please proceed accordingly,

Regards,

James Ralston,

Right Honourable Minister, Portfolio Defense"

He looked at his snifter and frowned.

Out of Port. That must be rectified.

Why good afternoon old chap! I've been following this Charter extremely closely indeed, having helped write it with the aid of some legal desk-monkeys!

Now, I fully understand the reasoning of your requests, after all, righteous War on those Kusari noodle-munchers won't pay for itself, eh? I'll personally use my position on the Board of Directors to try and win over the share holders to your redraft, or at the very least pacify them. A jolly good thing most of them rather nice fellows are patriots I suppose!

While a sum of one million Credits to every forty we earned would indeed eat into Bowex profits, the wealth and welfare of our great nation should, and always will come for-most over the prosperity of Bowex.

I'll have the legal book-worms have a look at editing our previous Charter draft, and have the right honourable William Burke, Director of Operations look over the new changes. He's a rather patriotic man, Queen and Country and all, so I'm sure he'll agree! Oh. James, the intern from Planet Cambridge has already finished the changes! Jolly good show old bean!

Well, here are the sections regarding the latest changing, and an amendment log to be added to the end of the Charter proper. Jolly good show!

Cheerio!

Re: Royal Charter Renewal

I've reviewed your request, and believe that renegotiating to 1 in 40 is entirely fair. The Board of Directors isn't entirely thrilled, but they do understand that business would be a lot worse if Bretonia were run from New Tokyo. I will alter the original submission to reflect the results of our negotiations.

I'm rather afraid we still need the signature from a representative of the Constabulary before we can consider this a done deal my friend. If you would be so kind as to forward a message to the Chief Constable, we would be most obliged.

After all, they may want to enact some changes or make some demands! I'll have the legal folks on stand-by regardless! Oh, and Jmes just brought me a cup of tea. Rather nice of you old chap!

Cheerio!

Jolly good old chap! Now we have the Charter done and dusted! The legal team were rather upset you had no demands however. No extra commission for them, oh no! Well, I'm sure your extremely busy, so I'll let William know, and get this sent of to the Royal Office of Legalities on New London.

Jolly good thing too! Some of the men were wondering when this was going to come through! You can expect Bowex to resume paying tax as soon as your signature is added to the paper.

Cheerio!

Re: Royal Charter Renewal

I've reviewed the final draft of the Charter and filed it with the Royal Office of Legalities. I'm pleased that our three parties were able to reach an agreement with a minimum of fuss. If you'll check your treasuries, you'll find that we've already forwarded our initial tax payment to you both.
