Yamamichi-gumi: Internal Communications and Reporting - Yamamichi-gumi - 12-11-2014

This is a secure channel for the use of Yamamichi-gumi personnel to communicate with each other and with their superiors, as well as to make information generally available to the organization.

All base communications must have their own "subject" line filled out, for the purpose of threaded response searching and answering. It will be possible to maintain multiple concurrent lines of discussion with this sort of style. Responses and conversations should be conducted as replies back and forth to the relevant message entries, and not each using the "new reply" function of your terminal. Leaving the quotation of the previous comment in a response is acceptable, however "spoiler" formatting is suggested in the case of long quotes For questions and concerns, please contact your superiors. A testing server has been set up to allow members to experiment with threaded message organization, as well as other formatting tests.

Protocols may be subject to change in the future as needed.

Konbanwa,

My name is Shuzo Adachi and I am one of your newer haulers. I was looking for work a month or so back when one of my cousins extended an offer to come work for Yamamichi-Gumi which I graciously accepted. I am a bit new to all this so apologies for any missteps.

Down to business, I have worked out a fairly safe, if a bit boring, route into Liberty for when we can't organize a group run to Tinker's Haven to buy their premium Scrap. It starts out on Planet New Tokyo where you can buy some off the books Sake from a few childhood friends of mine, stuff is better than the mass-produced stuff they sell to tourists and you don't have to pay any taxes on it. I told my friends to offer the same deal to any of the members of of Yamamichi-Gumi.[1]

I then proceeded to bring the shipment of Sake to Planet Junyo and purchase some Pearls from Samura. They offered to give me a good deal on some of the higher quality reject pearls for a discount telling me a lot of places wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I cautiously took him up on the offer figuring worse case I would just let you all know about him trying to pull one over on one of your haulers and he would be dealt with. [2]

Luckily his advice proved solid and the jewelers were willing to buy them at full price on Planet Manhattan. I decided it best to not pull any fast ones on the capital of Liberty so I just grabbed some of their disgusting Liberty Ale and went on my way.[3]

Last stop before returning to New Tokyo was Planet Denver. It turns out that the LPI are so focused on Liberty's Cardamine problem is was no problem finding a dealer to purchase some of the more "fun" pharmaceuticals which sold fairly well on New Tokyo.[4]

I will keep you informed of any more opportunities I come across and until then I will keep shipping supplies on your behalf.

Thank you for this diligent work. Your note about a sake connection is a lucrative one.

We are pleased to see you taking initiative in this way. This sort of work is part of how valuable individuals can be found.

Well heya bossman, or, like, whoever we pay to read the mail. 'If you ain't the boss, get it to him. Like, please, or whatever. Do the honourable… thing.

Some wall-street, dark suit, dark shades Libertonian gentlemen went an' wired a few short megabytes of trouble to the blue bloods back at police plaza. Guess the file? Yeah, an arrest warrant. So damn sweet; warrants get penned all the time, jackass cardi-fuzed gangbangers end up in hauling crap 'round Sugerland industrial penitentiary. Justice, or something. Keeps the commercialist cogs cranking or whatever. All well and sweet, yeah, except tha name tagging dis file was some asscrack middleman jailbait banger called Ueda Mitsue.

'Course, they're never gonna' find Ueda. Ueda don't exist. I, however, do, n' I plan to stay outta tha slamma longer than mah aliases. Especially some wack liberty jail filled full of white muthas n' rednecks. Remember dat big-ass load of counterfeit software dat posh, art deala muthafucka wit tha sunglasses n' tha hawaiian hoodie axed for, boss, biatch? Yo ass know, tha fast talker, bourbon-drinking guy, Cali' accent? Yep, turns out he was a sting. Only became really damn obvious when a load of LPI customs control officers surrounded one of the drones with patriot interceptors. 'Course, they impounded the wrong ship. I'm a smart-ass; payed some freelancer in a Rhino to ground the goods on Pittsburg's moon. Problem is; we don't have a customer anymore, 'an that's well over three million credits worth of merchandise.

So what now, boss? Just wait for the rogues to find it a bazillion years, or try to smuggle it out, or what? This is some wild-ass heat I'm dealin with here.

Just a suggestion boss; make that idiot who cost us a whole lot of money lose a finger. shi, I've even gots tha knife fo' him.

Frikkin' dirt-diggers... did they hurt you, baby?
My apologies... Oki here, just lettin' you know that today was a busy and profitable day for the organization - 'thanks' to myself - high five!

After gettin' a call from the liner in Sigma 19 confirming that our next delivery of artifatcs was ready to be picked up, I hired some low-life named
Ando... or Endo? Doesn't matter. Point is, for a low price and some empty promises he was willing to take the risk to deliver them to our customers on
Planet Manhattan instead of one of our own vessels and also to take the consequences, if he was caught.

I met with him on Planet New Tokyo in some lame bar and after some easy negotiations we started our business. He sugested to take some
commodities with us to maximize our profit. "Not that dumb, that Ando guy..." I thought to myself. So we ended up delivering some Sake from one of
our warehouses, where we store the good and untaxed stuff and did just that. Sake to Planet Honshu it was then. [1], [2]

Next stop was the liner in the Sigmas. Might as well pick up some cheap consumer goods. You'd be surprised how fast the buying price drops once you
mention the salesmen's fingers and ask about their current well-being. I like buying something cheaper than it usually would be. Fake chronometers,
cozy blankets for the vacationers on the liner and other things were loaded into Ando's transport and delivered to the liner. [1], [2]

Finally I could get what I initially came for. Our pride! I love those trinkets!
After a long journey to Liberty we surprisingly had not a single difficulty to deliver the artifacts to our costumer on the surface. I admit I kept one for
myself - the payment for it was already wired to our organization, don't worry. [1], [2]

On the surface after all the business was sorted out I wanted to get some rest, but -of course- I got a call from the captain of the [/|\]Bakeneko, who
didn't feel so well about his task to venture to Tinkers Haven in Texas to do some scrap dealings with the base administration. And I can't blame
him. We all know how Junker-infested that frikkin' system is and I still don't get why we do business with those -S-tinkers Haven Junkers, but if the
boss says so, who am I to question it... "What do I care anyways? His problem." I thought to myself and told the captain to frakk himself.
Obviously not a single minute later I got a call from -my- boss instructing me to tag along with the Bakeneko and its crew - I obeyed.
To maximize profit I instructed the captain of the Bakeneko to pick up some Liberty Ale on Manhattan for all those alcoholic and sluggish Libetonians on
Planet Houston. [1], [2]

On Houston the captain thought it would be a good idea to purchase hull panels to show the owners of Tinkers Haven our good will. I disagreed, but
the captain already finished the transaction without me knowing it. Feel free to punish him as you see fit... [1]

A little curious - I have to admit - I inspected what the Haven has to offer business-wise, not tooooo shabby...
At some point I couldn't stand the stench anymore (besides, getting pierced by angry and bloodshot eyes isn't enjoyable either). So we got a hold full
of premium scrap and took off quickly to deliver it to Yokohama Shipyard. While in Texas we took some fire from confused Junkers. Nothing to worry
about other than that my Dragon has some serious scratches, which need fixing. [1], [2]

Quite a lot got done. I wouldn't mind a little bonus, if I may say so myself.

Respectfully,

-Mae Oki

Konbanwa,

Just sending this message to report both a favorable encounter and a unfavorable one.

I guess I will start with the more pleasant news. I was flying a few days back when I passed a transport bearing the call sign TMS)Bungo who seemed to show respect to the Yamamichi-gumi name as well as warning me about some pirates causing trouble at the gate I was heading towards. Luckily thanks to his advice I was able to redirect to a safer route. After asking around I found out that TMS stood for Takeda Mining & Shipping a small Kusari based business. Not sure what you will do with the info but I figured I'd let you know that one of their pilots treated me with respect.
[Log]

Now on to the less than favorable encounter I had the other day. I had just used the Jump Gate from New York into Colorado when I was stopped by an annoying Outcast by the name of Spicy.Zombie. He asked for the outrageous amount of four million credits when all I was carrying was that watered down piss they call Liberty Ale. I was only able to bring down the "tax" to three million at which point I figured it wasn't worth risking my life trying to negotiate further. I know the Liberty Rogues don't appreciate Outcasts "taxing" in Liberty so it might be worth dropping his name to a few Rogues in the future.
