Hi.
I get as far as being given the option to select which particular character to choose, but when I do, it just crashes.
Are there any logs that may reveal the cause of the problem?

Have you any saved games from elsewhere?
My Documents / My Games / Freelancer
If yes, delete.

Nope. No saved games.
