Players Sanctioned: Several RNC ships and Nightmare.0815 - Garrett Jax - 12-31-2014

RNC-Mauerbrecher, RNC-Nuremberg, RNC-Klaus, RNC-Max.Rheinhart, RNC-Konstantinopel and Nightmare.0815 have been sanctioned for:

Quote:Server Rule 1.3 Every player must have one ID equipped on their ship. Player should follow the restrictions and allowances listed in their ID and their roleplay and conduct must match the actions of their characters. In cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules.

Consequences: A Zoner POB is not a higher priority target when you have Outcasts and Rogues nearby. Instead of attacking those unlawful ships, you worked with them to bring about the destruction of the Zoner base. Only after the base was destroyed did you bother with the Outcast. Your actions were OORP. Loss of guns and credits on all ships.

RE: Players Sanctioned: Several RNC ships and Nightmare.0815 - Knjaz - 01-01-2015

I'll stand by my words here. I've acted accordingly to a Rheinland battleship captain both RP-wise and Rule-wise. With clean enough history regarding rule violations, I'm pretty confident that I'm capable to comprehend both their spirit and word.

Supposed Libertonian base on Rheinland border is a higher priority target than Rogue Cruiser. Attacking a Rogue cruiser that poses no threat to the fleet formation, but may call for bomber reinforcement which would compromise the whole operation is an incorrect decision from the point of Rheinland commander, when Rogue is showing hostility towards Liberty installation and is now showing any signs of possible alliance with Liberty forces.

A base of agressive Zoners throwing most powerful combat ships of humanity against fleet formation that are capable of wrecking said formation unlike the warship of the Nation, that, while belonging to "Unlawful" side rule-wise, practically do not cross roads with Rheinland in Discovery universe, except for the insignificant presence in Sigma 13. There's no Roleplay reason for Rheinland Fleet Formation to prioritize Outcast warships in Liberty territory over an existing higher threat".

IF those zoners wouldn't start shooting us with Juggies with nearly zero attempts at negotiations, and would attempt to negotiate, I'd both agree with your point and this sanction wouldn't even happen because we'd break our siege and either go home or focus on something else. But they did, and Outcast arrived after first and before second wave of Juggernatus, and that gives us enough justifications to see them as a higher threat and ignore Outcast until it was dealt with.

As for possibility of "alliance", it didn't take place. Alliance in previous years (at least until the Colorado precedent, which also can use some additional explanation to community regarding the decisions made by the Team, but it's offtopic here) was defined by:
1) Grouping.
2) Nanobot sharing.
It obviously wasn't written in rules, it was one of those numerous "unwritten" ones we have here.

With all of above in mind, I'm hereby asking Administration Team to vote again on this case and reconsider the decision regarding the violation report that led to this sanction, OR (if the vote results in keeping the current decision or is not going to take place) at least provide a detailed explanation regarding your decision, including the precise explanation of unwritten "alliance" definitions, as well as detailed answer on the 2 Roleplay decision-making related questions below:

If you're (I'm applying to the whole Team, not Garret) going to insist that I'm in the wrong here, please, name me, as an inRP Rheinland ship commander, a single valid Roleplay reason
1) Why I, at all costs, MUST (not _can_, but must) engage an outcast warship within Liberty controlled space in first place and not let him do whatever they want there, regardless of it's actions, but as long as it doesn't go against Rheinland interests.
2) Why I should do it if it shows no hostile intentions towards our vessels, while facing a greater threat to the battlegroup.

I'm sorry if I'll sound somewhat agressive to anyone here, but I prefer being straightforward in such cases. It's not about lost guns and cash, it's not what I'm worried about. It's my reputation regarding (almost lack of) rule violations and also the reasoning behind decisions made by the team in this case, that both goes against established order of things and changes it.

Replay sent.
Also, just in case, asking to attach replay (edit: replays it is, now) and the Bounty thread discussion to the Voting. If needed, I can (tomorrow I guess, not right now. I bet you're not in a hurry either.) point to the specific posts where I've been covering/explaining various aspects of incident, including the one before first wave with the Zoners. (edit: mainly done in the second replay).

RE: Players Sanctioned: Several RNC ships and Nightmare.0815 - GOLOD55 - 01-01-2015

I'm here on request, as a witness of incident, captain of Juggernaut "Krater".

By the truth, our first engagement happened before the Outcast arrival, about 20 minutes before it. We indeed did not attempt to negotiate much, and moved to the combat phase.
So it's not surprising Military ships continued to disassemble our installation, we had an in-skype discussion afterwards and I agree it indeed could go differently.

RE: Players Sanctioned: Several RNC ships and Nightmare.0815 - InfinityCircuit - 01-01-2015

RNC-Max.Reinhart here.

As a gunboat, my role is to escort and protect battleships and cruisers from bombers and other snubs. This I did, and I engaged any red snub that got too close. I will PM my logs to show this as well.

Some of these snubs were not intending to attack RNC ships, but their unlawful status and proximity to the protected parties caused me to engage. Some fell back, others we destroyed.

I left the diplomacy, such as it was, to more senior members of the patrol, namely the battleship commanders. I have only played this game a little over a month, and did not think it my place to dictate RNC policy given my junior status.

If the judgment stands, I will never play government forces again. Piracy and mining/hauling has a purity in it's simplicity, and the RP is less fraught with emotion and judgments by admins I've never seen nor met in game.
