"A dysfunctional family is still a family."
~Angel Bloodrose

Overview

Deep in the underbelly of Planet Malta whispers are heard and rumors have spread. A new family has risen from obscurity. Whether it's Cardamine smuggling, extortion, piracy, or murder no job is too dirty. Known for leaving a single red rose on the corpses of their enemies they leave nothing but bloodshed behind as they ruthlessly pursue their goals. Most of the family is afflicted by the scars of years of heavy Cardamine use. Though some of the family was forced into becoming users most voluntarily use the drug for the "clarity" it provides. This has led to the Bloodrose Family becoming one of the largest suppliers of Cardamine in Alpha with rumors that they have also begun to aggressively distribute it within the other houses.

Name: Bloodrose Syndicate
Tag: (@)
ID: Outcasts ID
IFF: Outcasts

Naming convention:

(@)-Firstname.Lastname - snub craft
ex. (@)-Angel.Bloodrose

(@)-ET-Constellation - transports
ex. (@)-ET-Horologium

(@)-MNS-Knife.Name - capital ships
ex. (@)-MNS-Karambit

Goals:
◦ Monopolise the Cardamine smuggling.
◦ Fight against the enemies of the Outcasts.
◦ Get richer via the means of piracy and extortion.
◦ Defend the Planet Malta from hostile intrusions.
◦ Assist Bretonia in their fight against Gallia.
◦ Bring Maltese to the new heights of power, with the Blood Roses in the lead.

Structure

Roses:

The head of Blood Roses traditionally is one person proven as the most capable as a leader, however since Angel and Rise Bloodrose assumed the commanding positions, they control the entire family equally together. With Angel's intellectual qualities, sharp tongue and logical mind, as well as Rise's personal traits and leadership ability, they form a duo that is more than enough to keep the Syndicate going. Attracting their unwanted attention is one of the worst ideas imaginable. Their methods are often short and painless but brutally effective.

Thorns:

The Bloodrose inner circle, commonly called Thorns, is the main administration body of the Syndicate. While in theory they can do much, the inner circle is very limited by the decisions of the two mistresses. They mostly serve as council of the Syndicate as well as resolve any grudges any members of the family might have between one another. The number of seats in the council is unlimited, though the nonperforming members are removed from their position.

Current Thorns:
• Nathan Bloodrose
• Antonio Bloodrose

Leaves:

The members of the Bloodrose family as well as the sprouts that managed prove themselves enough to be considered worthy of being accepted to the familia. Leaves are the main body of the Syndicate, carrying out orders of the more experienced Blood Roses. There's no place for games when you're a Leaf, as any sort of disobedience is heavily punished. On their shoulders also lies the responsibility for the Cardamine transports to reach their destination.

Current Leaves:
• Antonio Bloodrose
• Julia Bloodrose
• Pedro Bloodrose
• Maurizio Bloodrose
• Marcello Bloodrose
• Proxy Bloodrose (NPC)

Sprouts:

"Kids, recruits, cannon fodder" is the general term for Sprouts, as in essence, they're nothing else. Not born into the family, they need to first prove themselves worth to join and even though they bear the name Bloodrose, they cannot consider themselves full-blood members of the Syndicate. Many current Blood Roses started as Sprouts, though some managed to escape that rather humiliating procedure, but they're few and far between. The recruits are often tasked with various smuggling or escort jobs. While not given much respect, they also don't have many responsibilities, which makes the Sprouts the most free of all the Blood Roses.

Current Sprouts:
• Luciano Palermo
• Armin De Vulpe
• Shift
• Francesco Scolio
• Sebastian Sangue
• Scott Bluebird

History

Origins

Originally formed in Omicron Alpha the Blood Roses started out as nothing but petty thugs. Under the leadership of Federico Bloodrose the Bloodrose Syndicate rose in power but many were wary of Federico's tactics. Though not ones to shy away from bloodshed even the hardliners soon became disillusioned with Federico's propensity for bloodlust and his aberrant behaviour. His violent tendencies both to his enemies and to his offspring would eventually lead to his demise.

Assassination

When Angel found out her best friend’s name was actually Marisa Bloodrose and she was a daughter of the Bloodrose Syndicate’s leader Federico, she told Rise everything. She half-expected her lover to turn against her but to her surprise, Rise told her all as well. Like before, except reversed. Angel was the one listening now. Rise told her of her plans. Of how she wanted to take the Blood Roses for herself. How she hated her father. How she wanted him to die. And more.

They prepared. Young, determined and with nothing to lose. Heated with Rise’s spirit, guided by Angel’s wit, they were ready.

At the power plant Angel's father worked for the Blood Roses took over everything and soon, Federico Bloodrose himself would come and visit it. They saw their chance to put their plan in action. Rise managed to squeeze all the information she could, while Angel examined the place of execution. Rise warned her that she would not be the only gunman at the scene, but everything should go according to plan.

On this fateful day, as Federico Bloodrose was giving his speech, Rise stood by him and observed the crowd. Knowing her father was a well respected figure within the Maltese, but also aware he was not the most popular leader she scanned for anything that could disrupt her carefully laid plans. Prior to this speech Rise had managed to replace most of Federico’s bodyguards with ones whose loyalty to him was questionable. Using both bribes and her feminine wiles she secured their loyalty and made them part of her plan making Angel’s task much easier.

At the same time, Angel stood in the crowd waiting for the signal. Dressed in black, with her face covered by a hood, she stood in one of the front rows, waiting for the balloon to go up. And there it was, the alarm sounded. She pulled out her gun and prepared to act.

Everything started happening very rapidly after that.

The bribed bodyguards fired the first shots at the others who had firearms. Rise took out a knife and stabbed one of them on the podium with her father. Angel took aim and with one clean shot took out the other and climbed the platform. Rise walked over and kicked Federico under his stomach. Stunned with pain and kneeling, he looked up at the girls watching him with undisclosed malevolence.

Rise crouched and took out a red rose from under her jacket. She contemptuously looked at her father, as he was trembling with fear and pain, knowing what was about to happen. She smiled, as Angel looked at Federico without any emotions and pointed the gun to his head. All of his awful deeds over the years flashed through her mind. The hate that had simmered for so long finally overwhelmed her.

Angel with no further hesitation took a step back and pulled the trigger.

Everyone stopped fighting looked towards the podium. The men loyal to Federico dropped their weapons and surrendered. Rise put her hand up and cheered. Everyone cheered with her, except for Angel. She was still looking at the corpse, remembering how cruel that man was, until Rise came and caressed her. Angel looked back and smiled. “We did it.”

Federico Bloodrose's reign of terror was over.

Rise to Power

News of Federico’s death spread quickly in Malta. While many mourned his death in public most in private were glad of his demise. Videos of his assassination soon found their way onto the neural net. This footage showing Angel and Rise assassinating Federico made them instant heroes to many in the Maltese nation.

Under Rise's lead and with Angel's guidance the Bloodrose Syndicate rapidly expanded. Many having seen the footage of Federico's death flocked to join or assist the Syndicate. Flush with new membership the Bloodrose's within a matter of months were able to take over a substanial portion of the Cardamine trade on Malta.

Of course such domination wasn't enough for these ruthless women who soon set their sights on the lucrative house markets. Vowing to spread Cardamine to all of Sirius the women quietly started to acquire a fleet. Despite the vast wealth at their disposal the Syndicate soon found that the construction of a fleet capable of challenging the houses was soon found to be beyond the families means. However, Angel had a plan which she soon put into action. She convinced Rise to buy a state of the art bomber and the two went on a piracy spree to acquire their new fleet.

They raided ship after ship killing all aboard and looting and selling their “acquisitions”. Though the Syndicates profits soared it still was not enough for the force they believed they required. All this changed on one fateful day in the Taus.

A damaged Gallic “Valor” Battleship, RNS Fraternite, was found in Tau-23. After a quick scan they were able to determine the vessels scanners and communications equipment had been heavily damaged and were inoperable. Seeing this Angel and Rise decide to attempt the impossible. Rise immediately summoned all The Blood Roses for a boarding attack on the Valor. In the meantime they stalked the Battleship waiting for the rest of the family to get into position. They laid their trap carefully and awaited the right moment.

As the crippled Gallic ship neared the Orkney jumphole the ambush was sprung. Taken off guard, both blind and deaf the Battleship was helpless to resist the swarm of Roses attacking it. As the shields on the Battleship dropped, Angel engaged her thrusters and approached the massive Gallic vessel. Spying a small docking bay she headed in and landed at an incredible speed. As their ship touched down in the bay Angel turned towards Rise and threw her a sidearm. Calling in more Roses to land they prepare their daring attack.

Angel had taken the lead as they rushed out of the ship into the docking bay. They saw a squad of Gallic marines rushing into the bay and taking cover behind some equipment containers. Angel looked into Rise’s eyes, leaned over and kissed her. After a long look she runned out guns blazing right at the squad of soldiers. Taken unaware they were cut down by Angel’s fire. Rise leaped up and joined her lover as they gathered the other Roses for an assault on the bridge. Angel saw one of her lieutenants, Serena Bloodrose disembarking with a group of heavies and called her over.

“Serena. Take those men and go secure the engine room. I want this ship functional so tell those brutes with you to watch their fire. We need this ship ready to return to Malta.”

Serena bowed. “Yes, mistress. These scared little boys don't stand a chance. Please, ma’am, can we kill them all?”

“Of course, Serena. Just don’t take too long. We have to capture this ship before it reaches the jump hole. Now get moving or I’ll send you back to the slave pen.” Serena scurried away with her squad as Angel and Rise led the rest to the bridge. Encountering strong resistance they carved a bloody path through all who opposed them. Gaining the bridge they quickly subdued all resistance. Angel walked over to the commander and puts a gun in his mouth.

She looked down at the kneeling Gallic commander. “Thanks for the ship, frog,” as she pulled the trigger.

Rise looked in contempt at the cowering bridge crew and addressed Angel. “What do you want to do with this lot, Love? Shall we throw them out the airlock?”

Angel laughed as she replied, “No I have something different in mind for these men. I’ll give them to Serena to do with as she pleases. Ha, they will wish for a quick death once she gets to work on them,” she said, signaling one of the Roses for the bridge crew to be taken away.

Meanwhile, Serena spoke over the communicator. "Mistress Angel, we have captured main engineering and are in full control of the ship. The scared little boys here ran for their lives once they saw what I had done to the officer here. Poor fools ran right into an airlock without suits in their fright. You should have seen their faces once I decided to help them in their "escape" into space by depressurizing the airlock. Silly frogs."

Angel grinned at the actions of her wicked lieutenant. She looks over at Rise. "The ship is ours. This is the payday we have been waiting for. The rise of The Bloodrose Syndicate is nigh on hand."

Rise walked over to the pilot’s station kicking the dead Gallic captain as she passed by. “What course should we set?”

"Set course for the system edge, we need to find a good spot for us to lay low for now. We must repair this vessel’s communication system before we attempt to return to Malta. I don't relish the thought of being killed by our Outcast brothers bringing this ship home thinking were some hot-headed frog violating their space. Send word to Serena to check the damage and report back."

After briefing their lieutenant Angel walked over to her lover and sat right down on her lap. "Love, what shall we do with this piece of Gallic scrap. Our fleet shouldn't be composed of such inferior trash."

" What do you have in mind, my Angel?" Rise replied as she caressed her lover.

Angel stared out into the vastness of space as she replied.“Though our primary aim is to spread the Orange dream we must remember that we also will also be representing our Brothers and Sisters on Malta. It is only fitting that our fleet be comprised of ships manufactured by our brothers. To that end we should loot every component off this ship we can, I’m sure some of those filthy Junkers will buy the rest for scrap. Despite the incompetent nature of those silly frogs this vessel is lavishly equipped with advanced technology. We can use these components in the future."

Rise seemingly lost in Angel’s embrace suddenly perked up. “Future?"
Angel sat up and faced Rise, her eyes alight with passion. "My dearest, I placed an order for the ship from Valetta Shipyard after our last acquisition. I wanted to surprise you with it upon completion but today reminded me there's always the chance one of us could be hurt. I want us to complete it together..."

She was interrupted by her communicator bleeping. Serena's voice was heard but it was muffled by several men screaming in the background "My Mistress?"

Angel replied, "Serena, what is all that racket?"

"My apologies, my Mistress. I was breaking in some of my new toys you were so gracious in providing me."

"Play with them later Serena. Now tell me what is the condition of the ship?"

“My Mistress, I have wonderful news on that front. We have made temporary repairs on all systems. I put some of my new toys to work and these silly frogs worked frantically to repair the systems,” she chuckled. “They were quite terrified once I told them what would happen should they fail.”

“Excellent work, Serena. Go play with your toys.”

“My Mistress, As always an honor to serve. My profuse thanks for your gracious gift. Some of the Sprouts should be up to man the bridge soon.”

Angel looked straight into the eyes of her soulmate. “Set course for Malta, love. Our destiny awaits.”

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - Lythrilux - 05-27-2015

Loving the presention of the writeup. It's very clear and good to look at.

The writeup itself is sound, and I'm interested to see what comes from this faction. Currently Cross seems quite one-sided in terms of OC RP. Hopefully you guys might freshen things up a bit and a new angle to things.

Other than that, I have a single complaint: Pls don't use OC guard IFF; there's nothing more irritating that shooting LH~ when I TS as a Rogue because they have LH Guard IFF.

I have a single query: How come Core is only hostile? We want to kill you as much as The Order do, if not more because we're looking at Omicron domination.

Other than that, by your faction goals it sounds like Malta will finally get some more people defending it during system raids. Cross seems very reluctant to play the roles of defenders, so I'm hoping @ are going to be different.

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - jammi - 05-27-2015

To pretty much echo what Lyth has said, I'm happy to see another 'stock' Outcast faction that focuses on their traditional RP. I especially like the family/cartel angle, which reminds me of the Benitez.

The religious side of the Outcasts has never really appealed to me, and has always seemed kinda over-represented for what was originally portrayed as a lunatics fringe cult.

Looking forward to seeing how you guys do.

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - Foochow - 05-27-2015

This looks very great indeed. I like the writeup. Looks nice and clean, like it should be.

I look forward seeing how you guys will handle the faction. And I'll hope I'll make a character in future to RP with you guys, since at the moment, I don't have anything related to Outcasts.

Anyways, I wish you best of luck with the faction and roleplay. And of course a lot of fun!

We'll look into it.

I mean if you want to be warring I see no problem with that, though...

I have to worry you here, we haven't got many people that are good at pvp, so they might not be exactly willing to defend from the Core. We'll try our best though.

Fun fact actually, we had the idea of adopting the Benitez's "surname as tag" but it caused issues with some things, so we chose not to. But the familia idea was loosely based on Benitez, indeed.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I also very much hope to mayhaps see some old 101st veterans joining us, since one of the things we had in mind while making this faction was filling the gap that was left by 101st disbandment.

We can always tweak things on our side to make sure the OC side has fun too, so don't worry about that.

Don't use guard iff please, these are relics from different times.

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - LunaticOnTheGrass - 05-27-2015

The presentation is excellent and I like the lore behind it.

If I might make one criticism, you might want to move Bundschuh to at least Unfriendly (unless you're planning on contacting the VWA Diplomatically). We're pretty anti-Cardamine.

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - Corile - 05-27-2015

The IFF was changed, as well as the diplomacy updated to follow the requests.

RE: Bloodrose Syndicate - Faction Information - sindroms - 05-27-2015

Love the presentation and I already had the opportunity to meet you ingame, so all the power to you! Come around Liberty again, the Rogues will be glad to see you. And for once, the previous sentence was not sarcasm.
