The Battle for Nauru || Fri/Sat, 10th/11th July || Core vs Corsairs + Order vs Core - Auriec - 06-30-2015

The Battle for Nauru

For over a year, the Core has carefully maintained and secured their investments on Planet Nauru. Small colonies are now turning into large structures and minor cities. The vision of the capital of the Core 'dominion' is slowly starting to seep into reality. However, one last obstacle hinders the progress: Yaren Base, a Corsair installation that remains within the orbit of Planet Nauru.
As the Corsair influence over the deeper Omicrons starts to suffer under the increased focus on the resourceful Omega systems, the Core has been advancing the strength and dominance of their own fleet, allowing them to finally siege Yaren Base itself in an attempt to remove the Corsair presence from the station once and for all, thus giving the Core control over nearly half of the system and one step closer to the dominion.
This cunning plan involves unmatched risk, as it requires the Core fleet to seize the station before sizable Corsair reinforcements are able to arrive.

While the Core's plan slowly starts to unfold, the Order has not been sitting still either. A scenario like this was considered extremely likely to occur, and as such a secret strategy has been developed to use the departure of the Core's fleets towards Yaren for the Order's own benefit and to establish their own staging grounds in the highly contested Omicron Delta. Proving patience for months and ensuring that no leaks occur at all, the Apophis task force waited for a unique window of opportunity to execute "Operation Spear" and strike on their own. Now that the Core fleets departed, the commanders of the Apophis fleet decided that they either capture Dabadoru now or never.

But as the war between the Core and the Order constantly shifts the delicate balance of power in the Omicrons, the Nomad menace grows increasingly dangerous as well. Who will emerge from the chaos thinking of themselves as victor, and who will firmly believe to have created a better future for everyone? If you think there can be a happy ending, you have not been paying attention.

Event Information
The event will be split into two acts that will occur on two different days.
Each act will approximately last one hour and will most likely end around 20 UTC for each day.

Act 1 - The Orbit of Nauru

- Defenders: The Corsairs
- Attackers: The Core
- At Yaren Station, Omicron Delta

- Friday, 10th July 2015, 19:00 UTC (see server time in the sidebar)

- The defending Corsair fleet strength will be displayed by a stationary Murmillo battleship near Yaren that has to be destroyed by the Core for the siege to be successful.
- Attackers and Defenders have infinite respawns and can return to the fight once they died.
- Corsair defenders are only allowed to respawn from a temporary base that will be placed nearby or outside of Omicron Delta.
- Once the hull of the Murmillo reaches 20% or after 45 minutes, the defenders may no longer respawn. An announcement will be made in game to make everyone aware.
- When the Murmillo is destroyed, Yaren will be successfully captured and the remaining defenders can flee or fight until the end.

Act 2 - Operation Spear

- Defenders: The Core
- Attackers: The Order
- At Dabadoru Station, Omicron Delta

- Saturday, 11th July 2015, 19:00 UTC (see server time in the sidebar)

- The defending Core fleet strength will be displayed by a stationary Mako battleship near Dabadoru that has to be destroyed by the Order for the siege to be successful.
- Attackers and Defenders have infinite respawns and can return to the fight once they died.
- The attacking Order fleet will be able to stage their attack from the nearby Battleship Apophis that will be placed close to Dabadoru before the event.
- Core defenders are allowed to respawn on Freeport 11 or outside of Omicron Delta.
- Once the hull of the Mako reaches 20% or after 45 minutes, the defenders may no longer respawn. An announcement will be made in game to make everyone aware.
- When the Mako is destroyed, Dabadoru will be successfully captured and the remaining defenders can flee or fight until the end.

RE: - Auriec - 06-30-2015

Protégé & TheSauron,
This event will prepare for the changes to the political situation in Omicron Delta once the Omicron update rolls out. The current ruleset was chosen to make sure that the outcome matches the story changes while not inhibiting the combat ability of either side for the majority of the event.
The defending side for each act can still score a win on their own or turn the attacker's victory into a pyrrhic victory by inflicting devastating losses to the attacking side while defending.

It was said a thousand times that event outcomes will not impact the story line.
