Teamspeak or Mumble - Alley - 08-01-2015

This discussion pretty much happened everywhere possible, but we recently had this debate among a few members and I'm curious to know what others think about it.

Teamspeak is nicer, better designed, allows you to use images and stuff but unless you shell out money you're restricted to 32 users.
Mumble is slightly less nice design-wise, but it's an open-source community driven project. There's no user limit and supports all basic necesseties such as passworded channels, etc.

I don't mind both as long as you can talk to the guys...
Which one is user-friendlier ?

Definitely Teamspeak on that aspect.

Teamspeak all the way

Teamspeak all the way.

Teamspeak.

With the TS server gaining popularity over the last year or so, right now asking this would be like asking us whether or not we would prefer Skype over Xfire.

Even if Mumble was better in every way, we are too far gone to care.

TS then would be my choice.
I have not used Mumble but... from what I understand I'd choose TS.
Besides though... do we even have 32 people that log into TS at any time?

You can order free NPL (Non-Profit License) for 512 slots for teamspeak3. All you have to have is: website and working e-mail there (but donate PitchIn widget might cause problems, as I've seen a license being revoked due to "Donate" button on the site. That's the reason why some people use another sites for getting it.). I also prefer ts3 for various permission customisations and ability to use various bots (Rbmod/JTS3ServerMod) that runs via Server Query. Ts3 also has better client protection due to lack of login/password combinations, instead having a public/private keypairs. Ts3server is very lightweight and even 5$ VPS can keep around 350 clients + one of the bots freely.
