Infocard

Name: Wisp Innovations
Tag: [W]
ID: Cryer Pharmaceuticals ID
IFF: Cryer
Base of operations: Atka Research Station
Home system: Sigma-17

Summary

Wisp Innovations is an apolitical Cryer subfaction based off Atka Research Station. Our goal is to bring a bit of non-conventional roleplay to the unique Cryer ID, diverging from the common trade faction role play and gameplay. In addition to the regular scientist roleplay, Wisp is also heavily ideological, believing that Outcasts and all those who support them are a direct threat to the existence of humanity. The company is administrated by a shadowy organisation known simply as The Board, with the CEO fulfilling a representative function. The faction is divided into three main, mostly independent sections:

Main Division - focused on researching new technologies and scientific development of the faction. It also includes various other company assets that don't go beyond our stations.
Logistics Division - whose task is the transportation of various Cryer-produced goods to the Houses and developing the economy of Wisp. The escort fighters are also a part of the Logistics section.
Security Division - an elite squadron of fighters whose main objective is to interrupt Cardamine influence in Sirius. The SD also serves as the main target for Wisp's research on human-enhancing drugs and technologies, to aid them in battle against our enemies.

In addition to the above, Wisp also owns a majority of shares in several smaller companies. Those companies fulfil more specialised roles and they don't have any substantial in-game presence (i.e. don't exist as actual in-game factions).

Kellis Biotech - a company originating from Cambridge, it manufactures medical equipment and Med-Stasis Bands.
SYNC - a media company which Wisp Innovations adopted as a PR outlet. SYNC releases scientific press information and news, often related to the company.
Sitka Station - a modular research station (POB) owned and maintained by Wisp Innovations.

Faction goals

• To stop the advancement of Cardamine in Sirius by any means possible.
• To explore the concepts of transhumanism, enhancing human bodies through pharmaceutical and physical means.
• To advance and widen Wisp's, and by extension Cryer's, influence.
• To defend Atka Research Station from any threats.
• To break the boundaries of knowledge through development of science.

Completed projects

Project Sundew
Involved factions: Kusari Naval Forces, Kusari State Police, Kusari Government
Summary: Sundew was a project focused on creating a Cardamine rehab clinic aboard Fuchu Prison. Wisp provided the materials, supplies and human resources for the facility operation. The clinic is used for Golden Chrysanthemum and Outcast pilots captured in Kusari.
Documentation: (Lost due to the forum rollback.)

Project Eden
Involved factions: Samura Industries
Summary: Eden was a prelude to the biggest agenda of Wisp - Vergil. We collected resources to expand Atka with a new lab that would allow for manufacturing of nanobot-bacteria hybrids.
Documentation: Alien Organisms delivery - Contract with Samura - Project Eden

Defence of Atka
Involved factions: Corsairs, Bounty Hunters Guild
Summary: Atka is a small station in the middle of nowhere and while Cryer and Wisp security wings can protect it from smaller threats such as single pirates or smaller groups, eventually there would be a need to protect it from a larger assault. Wisp made sure that even in such a circumstance, the research station has nothing to worry about.
Documentation: Message to the Brotherhood

Project Snowflake
Involved factions: Liberty Police, Inc.
Summary: LPI has contacted Wisp in order to construct Cardamine treatment facilities aboard prison stations Huntsville and Sugarland.
Documentation: First Contact - Project Snowflake

Ongoing projects

Project Vergil
Involved factions: O'Rhu Cell, Ageira Innovations
Summary: Vergil is a project focusing on creating a brand of bacteria-nanobot hybrids that are designed to stay in the human brain, track the neural signals and send their own, effectively creating a computer interface with the brain.
Documentation: A Study in Violet - First contact - Bacteria from O'Rhu - Software from Ageira - Thallia Thorn - Housekeeping

AlderFluid
Involved factions: None yet.
Summary: AlderFluid is a performance-enhancing drug derived from long-term studies of Cardamine and other drugs. AlderFluid is injected directly to the user's bloodstream with single use syringes. The drug is then removed from the body within thirty minutes. The effects of AlderFluid include improved focus, alertness, memory, oxygen-carrying capacity of blood and steadier hands. AlderFluid is still undergoing testing and is not distributed to anybody outside the Security Division of Wisp.
Documentation: Information (Work in progress.)

Project New Life
Involved factions: Independent Miners Guild, Cryer Solutions
Summary: New Life is a project started by the Independent Miners Guild to intercept Outcasts, Cardamine smugglers and slave haulers passing through the Taus. Cryer is currently in progress of constructing another Cardamine rehab clinic for the IMG.
Documentation: Invitation - Stabiline deliveries - Episodes

Sitka Station
Involved factions: Corsair Trade Company, Council of Elders, Ageira Innovations
Summary: Wisp has constructed a POB in an Omicron system which will serve as an independent haven for various scientists. Unlike Atka, Sitka is as a whole owned by Wisp Innovations.
Documentation: Sitka Station - CTC Contract - Council of Elders Comm - Ageira Comm

RE: Wisp Innovations - Connor - 12-26-2015

Oh god no. Wasn't this faction made as a revenge faction? Like to hunt the OC faction Protege was part of? It's a dumb faction that only causes problems for people. It's only RPed by like one guy as well and sometimes he RPs with himself. Whenever you're online you're always after blues and there is very little RP from your group ingame.

RE: Wisp Innovations - Ace Razgriz - 12-26-2015

My opinion on this: Bad Idea. Protege every faction I have seen you either as a member of or a leader of has been a total revenge faction. Shooting Dragons on Farmers Alliance, Hunting 343 on Bloodrose and your indy GRN, and now hunting Dragons, Sisterhood, and Cross with Wisp.

You could almost say that you've mastered the art of revenge factions, but one thing i don't want to see this faction getting other than the snub blues they survive on, is officialdom. Wheres relevant forum rp for this faction anyways? Literally anytime I see a wisp online its hunting for blues, if anything [Cryer] sould apply for officialdom, they deserve it for actually trying to be a rp-centric faction.

All the rp i clicked on in that thread up there is either RPing with yourself, no response from the people you sent comms to, or responses with the rp leading to no where or no impact whatsoever

RE: Wisp Innovations - Lythrilux - 12-26-2015

I haven't really paid attention to the drama because it's a bit petty imo. But the way I see it if they're making a request for officialdom it means they've decided to wise up and pursue being the Cryer official faction rather than some revenge ploy. And if that is the case, then it's up to the factions to interact with to perhaps not think about things too hard, relax and remember that this is a game.

If they keep walking the path of being a revenge faction they'll stumble and fall later anyway. So good luck I guess.

RE: Wisp Innovations - Yber - 12-26-2015

do you have the minimal amount of members actively playing?

he tried to hunt 3 sabres

very short lived

RE: Wisp Innovations - Wisp Innovations - 12-26-2015

Thanks for removing the cash and adding us to the tracker.

RE: Wisp Innovations - Connor - 12-26-2015

Ignore the comments then, np np. Would have been nice to see you say that you'd change or at least come up with reasons why.

Also, saying "What's wrong with a Blue Whore Faction" and then complaining to Ace over Skype/TS about his comment is retarded. Change your attitude please. Thanks.

RE: Wisp Innovations - Char Aznable - 12-26-2015

Evening.

Since everyone is giving his opinion, I will be doing the same.
Your refusal to answer the complaints people are making publicly, and instead raging at the respective people in Skypechats is pretty evident of your attitude. You want to be an official faction leader, therefore you will have to be able to take and address criticism. In the past, you have shown that you can't: Zenith, Bloodrose, Farmers Alliance and Wisp in the beginning, to name the ones that I have seen myself.

Don't get me wrong, but I don't think that the kind of behaviour you have been showing towards other people is really helpful. I was ready to give you the benefit of the doubt, but your reaction on Ace's criticism showed that you haven't learned from the three factions you drove into the ground.

I advise that you retract this application and try to learn from the criticism you receive, rather than banging your head on the wall a third time, otherwise we will see a faction hunting Cryer in two months.

Have a good day!

RE: Wisp Innovations - Jack_Henderson - 12-26-2015

Revenge faction at the beginning or not... this doesn't matter the moment when you decide to run for officialdom. The moment you do that, a leader knows that there has to be a lot more than "we shoot X, Y, Z" and, to be honest, there is more to Wisp. I have seen nice on-server cooperation (also non-blue activity), nice roleplay encoutners on server and Wisp is actively participating in the New Life roleplay.

Whatever it might have started as... they deserve a chance. So it would be fair not to judge them on their first moments of existence but on what is happening at the moment.

RE: Wisp Innovations - Skorak - 12-26-2015

I can't really comment on the faction itself other than that the design and graphics is well done.

What I would like to use this opportunity for though is, to ask a question.
What was the background to that Malta raid? Is that going to be a common occurence?
Just asking because Cryer didn't seem like the group to me that would do such a thing. Core is like... okay attacking Alpha. Corsairs is the usual thing. BHG would be also kinda okay but Cryer as a raiding group doesn't fit the view I have on the corporation.

I hope you can explain and elaborate here. No offense, I might not be up to level with the current lore development.
