ENGINES! - shutbug29 - 01-14-2016
Since the update we have had MAJOR issues w/ engines becoming unmounted / disappearing. It used to be a powerplant here or there now it's engines. And lots of them. Am I using the wrong settings in DSAM or do I have a bad install of the game? (brand new install about a week old).

My players keep losing their engines/unmounted. They launch and get stuck in space. I've told them to check to make sure the engines are mounted before they launch but you know they sometimes forget. Any ideas?

OK. Tried the reload game files. Still happening. It looks like players have an engine in equipment and another in cargo per DSAM. They launch and get stuck in space. This only happens with the transport engines. Power supplies are still there. I put banners up to check engines but sometimes they forget and I have to edit 3-4 ships at a time.
Any ideas?

The only thin g that has worked so far is to put up notices not to log off on the POB's. Things have smoothed out since players have stopped with no engine loss from npc bases.
Wasn't there an issue on the GC server with engines dropping on NPC bases? Is that one of those lost threads from the DOS attacks? If not I can't find it.

Not on NPC bases, but it does happen on POBs from time to time. It's related to modifying equipment while being out of the original function. Sometimes it destroys shadow equipment.

Right now it happens on the POB's. There seems to be multiple engines in cargo unseen by the player but cannot be mounted. On NPC bases the engines are unmounted but you cannot undock until you mount them. POB bases allow you to undock w/o the engine and then strand you in space,
