with that fat bottom ? its gonna get hit and most important it won't have guns to fire back,as it is now,so..combat its not something to take into consideration the only offensive capabilities would be its docking modules, the ones that none will work on fixing them in next ~ six months or so..

No, it would have negative aesthetic consequences and will throttle up the polycount. Besides it will not fit everyone's RP this way.

A little comment on the model: I thinks it really does look neat, like a serenity transport strapped to the back of half a carrier. The nose part in front of the launchpad looks a little empty, like it could use some indents, antennas, get split or something. Maybe even contunie that trend of asymetry you started with that one "tower" in the middle.
And mybe some spoiler-ish part in the back to continue the slim and aerodynamic design.

That is what I am going to work on next.

Asymmetry shouldn't be overdone in my opinion. Right now it looks so nice even I like it, harmonizes with the symmetry of the rest of the ship. Although I agree the front could get some detail, I'd say let's keep it symmetric, and if the ship gets any antennae, that shouldn't be overdone either, though I'd put it around the command tower.

RE: Civilian carrier. WIP - nOmnomnOm - 05-17-2016

Asymmetry is one of the beauties of design.
If you do it right it is better than symmetry.

Indeed.

Would you say that the front of the carrier is a bit too overdone? Too pointy?
Why not chop it and make another hangar door thing like you did under that command tower. It can look cool i think

also another idea i had in mind:

The pilgrim/slave liner has on one side a vertical face. Perhaps on the side oposit to the tower side you can do something like the pilgrim has to hold it's containers and stuff?
Just a thought.
Also to point out, perhaps you can make the bottom of the ship also not flat? maybe just something down the middle or something?

RE: Civilian carrier. WIP - Thyrzul - 05-17-2016

The Pilgrim is okay to be asymmetric because it's beauty lies in how ugly it is and asymmetry adds to that. That doesn't mean the same would look nice on the Bustard, the current WIP model is already less symmetric than the rest of the line (Serenity, Voyager).

RE: Civilian carrier. WIP - Cælumaresh - 05-17-2016

What if you were to make a rectangular hollow in the bottom, and filled it up with 2 central beams each holding a row of cargo tanks on each side?

Edit: BRB, making a quick sketch of what i mean. Excuse my horrible extremely quickly made paint sketch
