RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - gafwmn - 04-07-2016 What about something similar to the carrier in Sins of a Solar Empire. Not the model , but how the launch bays look / are situated ? http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/14698665/images/1303656900369.jpg I'm referring to the TEC model. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Swallow - 04-07-2016 http://p3d.in/6cqCB - 0.1 A quick Serenity re-mesh. With this I am finishing working on it for today. I have to keep working on LH VHF, but this "sketch" is for giving you ideas. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - E X O D I T E - 04-07-2016 I am speechless. That is amazing. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - nOmnomnOm - 04-07-2016 Can you model docking bays into the ship? Like holes to represent their 5 docking bay slots? Edit: The model looks impressive so-far The side wings though look really flimsy. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - E X O D I T E - 04-07-2016 What I really like is the promise of way better turret coverage, more than the 5/5/5/5/6/6 we have now (front, back, left side, right side, up, down) RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Swallow - 04-07-2016 I prefer less but full-arcs, TBH... RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Sand_Spider - 04-07-2016 Not bad for something done so quickly, but... I'm not sure about the design. I guess it looks sort of like a massive Dagger/Scimitar, which is technically what the Montante is. Freelancer does have a theme of re-using models and tacking on more wings/struts, so it's not totally out of place. Still, with that many engines and so close to the back, I can see it being very easily CD'able (though, arguably, who would even try to chew through 700,000 base armor?). To counter my own argument, I know that many pieces of art look better finished than what you begin with. Plus, that many engines firing off in cruise would be pretty snazzy. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Thyrzul - 04-07-2016 That elongated Serenity-front looks interesting, but how about a slightly redesigned but unstretched Serenity-front and elongation is done via insertion of another section between the Serenity-mid and Serenity-rear sections specifically designed for the dockign part of the carrier? Also I wonder how it would look like that the outer pair of engines would instead be slightly behind the front (where the Serenity-mid section would be by the previous train of thoughts of mine).
RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Swallow - 04-07-2016 Could try. Keep going on with idwas. RE: Civilian carrier. Preparation phase - Stoner_Steve - 04-07-2016 Looking good so far! |
