There is an old saying "measure twice and cut once" it has a literal meaning for carpenters but also a good analogy for the web. If a post can be interpreted on the spectrum from fun through to sarcastic or just flipping the bird it may be worth rereading and rewriting.
Half a day is probably enough to have made the point - unbanned.
