Never really had a problem with 5kers using thrusters. Most never have armor or bots and bats anyway.
Keep as is.

That's actually a great idea, buff Cargo hold a little like 7.5k and remove thruster? Go for it.

No.
It's a dev thing, but I doubt there ever will be ship with more than 5k cargo. There definitely shouldn't, imho.

Regarding OP - 5kers were nerfed already. With this, you would be cornering to have just two options - pay or die. I don´t think that´s good nor necessary.

bring back the Barge, make it sirius-wide buyable and then remove thrusters xD
