I read through the report for a fifth time. The stale air of Nome Base was making my nostrils burn. I took a long sigh and looked at the person in my room. "Tactical Initiate Quartz, So..." I spoke then pausing. The person jumped and walked up, she was in Initiate cloths. I take another whiff of my cigar. "4 CTE-F-1050-A "Kestrel" Civilian Freighters, 2 SMV-612-C "Scraper" Civilian Medium Miners and 1 MV-422-B "Surveyor" Civilian Light Miner...Destroyed in the Bering by Unioners...The cargo those Freighters were carrying," I take a breath as I adjust my reading glasses. "540 Units of Bio-Stability Monitors, 60 Units of Cobalt, 95 Units of Lasers, 540 Units of Med-Stasis Bands, 350 Units of Super Alloys, 540 Units of Terraforming Gases scheduled to head to Planet Death Valley and...35 Units of Tobacco..." I finish saying while taking a deep breath. "This hit us economical hard...Damn Unioners..." I put my cigar in the ash tray. Tactical Initiate Quartz tightened her coat and then spoke. "Marshal Williams sir? What do you plan on doing?" She spoke in a soft soothing voice. I grinned at her. "Retaliate, We have hardly any information about the Unioners...We don't know if they have a home system. But I found out about one of there bases. Krefeld Base, Its in the Kolin system. I always wonder when I will get the chance to attack our enemies outside of liberty." I spoke in a gruff but calm voice. Tactical Inititate Quartz spoke. "Sir, why were there Miners escorting those freighters? How are we going to siege it? What about the other unlawfuls in Rheinland? I laughed a little then looked at her. "We had miners escorting them because Xenos are in a economical depression. Trust me...Unioners are known for scamming freelancers...Work hard get paid less...Thats a joke freelancers say when they talk about Unioners...If freelancers join us...We will give them pay, in the cargo and loot that we get from blowing that darn base into a million pieces. We have to worry about the Landwirtrechtbewegung cruiser guarding the Hamburg jumphole, we will have to move as fast as we can around it. The Bundschuh won't give us any trouble...Sure the Bundschuh and Unioners are friends and just friends but the Bundschuh do not trust Unioners as much and most of them view Unioners as a dangerous and unreliable to work with. If the Bundschuh come which is rare...We will be in hot water, That is all I have to say." I explained in a long and boring explanation. Quartz retorted in a soft voice. "Sir, what do you want me to do?" I spoke, "Give my report to the Tactical Command, The time will come when we attack that base and when we do...That nebula will glow red." Quartz left with a tablet in her hand. I sat back and look outside the window in my chair. Things were going to get interesting.
