The Imperial Kempeitai has served the Tenno for the last centuries very good. Their Intelligence Officers helped the GMG in the 80 years war with Rheinland; A century before the war broke out, the Tenno appointed a Shogun with the task to set up an Intelligence Office: The Kempeitai. The Shogun had to act fast and chose the best pilots to become Kempeitai Officers. He set up a hard training program, that had to be done before becoming a member. In the war the Kempeitai had its first important spy role in an interhouse conflict. And with the help of the Officers, the GMG won the war against Rheinland. The Kempeitai soldiers trained their skills at any free time, but also protected the Tenno and his Empire. In the nomad war, the Kempeitai did researches on Nomads and tried to find something to stop their spread within the Kusari house. Protecting Kusari against Nomads became one of their important tasks, which is still today important. After the Tenno and his Empire were expelled from Kusari, the Kempeitai's Daimio was shocked and disappointed. But he went on with the training preparing to fight against the Kusari State Police, to gain back their terretory.

After the end of the civil war the Kempeitai has seized its hostilities towards the government and has re-directed its current tasks to military counter-intelligence out of Kusari, anti-nomad work in Kusari and Military support for the Imperial Navy.

Ranks:

Rekrut (Rkt-): A recruit has to prove himself to become a full member of the Kempeitai. He may not leave Kusari space without a member with a higher rank.


Research Division:
The Research Division cares about the research on new technology to use, as well as the research on alien technology. The Research Division also cares about the Nomad movement in Kusari and they do their best to prevent their spreading. This Division has the right to use lethal force against anyone who is suspected to work with the Nomads or infected forces. Following ranks belong to the Research Division:

Kagaku-sha (Kgs-): The Scientist is a full member of the Kempeitai and is allowed to fly outside of Kusari. He is not permitted to lead research projects or Anti-Nomad measures.

Sentan Kagaku-sha (Skg-): The advanced scientist is experienced and has gained the trust of the high command. He is authorized to lead forces against Nomads and lead scientific projects. The SentanKagu-sha is permitted to fly gunboat vessels.

Masutāsaientisuto (Msi-): The master scientist is one of the most respected members of the faction. He is the head of the Research Division and acts in the trust of the high command. He is allowed to lead patrols against Nomads and supervises all research projects as eye of the Daimio. The Masutāsaientisuto is permitted to fly Cruiser class vessels.

Kusari Division:
The Kusari Division has the primary target to defend the Kempeitai and IKN's ZoI against hostiles like the Blood Dragons and the GC. They are gathering information inside the house Kusari. Following ranks belong to the Kusari Division:

Samurai (S-): The Samurai is a full member of the Kempeitai and is allowed to fly outside the house of Kusari.

Sōchō (Soh-): The Sōchō is a more experienced member of the Kempeitai. He is allowed to lead patrols and fly Gunboat class vessels.

Chusa (Chu-): The chusa is a well trained, reliable member. He can set patrols in the ZoI of the Kempeitai. He can fly Destroyer class vessels.


Out-of-Kusari Division:
The out-of-Kusari Division has the task to protect the Kempeitai and the IKN from external threats, e.g. the GRN. The Division gathers information valuable for the Tenno and the Shogun in other houses. The also are advised to keep the links to interhouse allies and may assist them within their conflicts. Following ranks belong to the Out-of-Kusari Division:

Agent (Agt-): The Agent is a full member of the Kempeitai and operates outside of Kusari.

Specialagent (Sgt-): The Specialagent is a more experienced member of the Kempeitai. He may lead patrols and fly Gunboat class vessels.

Intelligence Officer (IO-): The Intelligence Officer is a well trained, reliable member. He can set patrols out of Kempeitai's ZoI. He can fly Destroyer class vessels.



The High Command:

Sensei (Sen-): The Sensei is one of the most experienced pilots within the Kempeitai and has the trust of the Daimio. He can fly Battlecruiser class vessels.

Taisa (Tai-): The Taisa is one of the most experienced pilots within the Kempeitai and has the trust of the Daimio. He can communicate with interhouse allies after considered with the Daimio and may lead a patrol to these meetings. He is the person representing the Daimio on conferences and other important events if necessary. He can fly Battlecruiser class vessels.

Daimio (Dai-): The Daimio is the head of the Kempeitai. He is the head of the high-command and leads the faction with the trust of the Shogun and Tenno.
He can fly Battlecruiser class vessels.
