Greetings Stang,

I'm aware of the help you've provided the Congress on some of our recent projects. I've seen you myself around Puerto Rico often and I've spoken to some of my fellow Congressmen about your application. I'm pleased to say you've been vouched for.

Welcome to the Junkers Congress. Register on our private communications channel at www.junkerscongress.com and have the boys at Vieques paint a .:j:. on the hull of your ships. I'm sure you'll be a valuable member to our organization. If there's anything I can help you with don't hesitate to ask.

Let me be the first to congratulate you Congressman Stang.

**INCOMING TRANSMISSON**

Sender: Adam Wayland
Current location: Vieques Shipyard
Subject: Admission

Greetings, honorable members of the Congress. Let's start with some bio here:

My name is Adam Wayland. I was born on Trafalgar Base, in 786 A.S. My father was Ramsay Wayland, who was the member of the Junkers Congress 781-797 A.S. I do not know my mother.
When I was 11 (797 A.S.), my father was tasked to fly into the Grande Negra in Texas, and scan for the source of a strange energy reading coming from there. He disappeared.
I was raised by the Kingdom of Bretonia, and got pilot training in a flight school. I had several jobs; I piloted transport or armed escorts.
Then my life took a turn. In 817 A.S. my father’s Salvager drifted out from the Grande Negra, and a Beaumont scrapping team recovered it. The Junkers of Beaumont repaired it, and offered it to me as I was the only descendant to inherit it. I accepted, and joined them.
Now, I am applying for Congress membership to follow my father’s footsteps as a Junker and Congressman, and to utilize the connections and resources of the Junkers to find out more about the Grande Negra cloud, and use that knowledge to find my father, and to find out what happened to him, as well to pass this knowledge to our Family for our benefit.

As for the sponsors: I think Ben "Decaf" Nevis can say a few good words for me. I had some good conversations with Mr. Trenton too, when he was Deputy Arbiter and I only made my first steps as a Junker. My ships you may have encountered are the Junker.Conveyor and the Replenisher.

If you need any more information, please notify me.
Looking forward to work with you.

Adam Wayland

Greetings Distinguished Congressmen,

I have come here today to apply for membership in the Junker Congress. Of coarse you will want to know a little bit about me, so I will start with some personal history. I'll do my best to keep it brief.

I was 18 when freeport 7 was attacked and like a lot of kids my age I was eager to fight, ready to single-handedly save the galaxy from the nomad invasion. I guess looking back, I was one of the lucky ones, even if I didn't think so at the time. It was my first battle after the liberty navy's crash training coarse for new recruits. My wing of light fighters was in a tight formation heading for a nomad battleship. Our objective was to draw its fire so the bombers could get in close. Well I guess one way to look at it was that I followed my orders to the letter as my ship started disintegrating around me. I woke up on a zoner hospital ship a few days later with a throbbing head and my leg in a sling.

With my brief military career at an end and a bad leg to boot, I was feeling pretty low. I was looking for some solace at the bottom of a bottle in the bar on Rochester when a some guy sat down right next to me. I remember thinking to my self, “ the whole blasted bar is empty and this joker has to sit right next to me.”, as the last thing I wanted right then was company. The man loudly commanded to the bartender, “Hey! Barkeep! Get us another round of whet ever Robert here is havin' .” Now I was really confused. I knew that I had never meet this person before in my life so I asked him with a slightly hostile tone, “How do you know my name?”

He replied, ” I never forget a face or a name, you were one of them kids the navy sent to get blown up by that nomie battleship. I saw your picture on the Liberty News Network. You got guts flying into that kind of firepower.”

“Ya that got me a bum leg and no job” I said a little snidely.

“ I can help you with one of those kid. I got a job for you that don't need good legs. I need someone to pilot a transport ship for me and I think that your just the pilot I've been looking for. The names Joe by the way. ”

Little did I realize at the time that this seemingly chance encounter would set me on the path to where I am today.

The next day Joe showed me his Combat Service Freighter that he wanted me to pilot. It looked a little beat up but it was a solid vessel. He explained that we were going on a salvage operation to clean up some wreckage in the trade lanes in Shikoku. However what Joe didn't say was that their wasn't any wreckage in Shikoku... yet.

I gotta say that those were exciting times. It was during that time when Joe's crew gave me the name Bobby the fence. My job was to stay just outside of scanner range until all the action was over and then fly in to scoop up the debris to bring to what ever base was buying. Mostly bases that Joe had already worn out his welcome.

One day we all went out for another Kusari 'salvage' run but the KNF were ready for Joe. They setup an ambush with a Big Dragon full of high-temperature alloy. As Joe's Roc approached, the KNF swarmed him with enough firepower to knock a planet out of orbit. He never had a chance...

By that time, I had enough credits stashed away to buy my first Salie , and start a mostly legitimate salvage operation. Since then I've made a lot more credits, payed my share of fines as some lessons have to be learned the hard way, and have gained a great deal of experience traveling the galaxy while interacting with its many inhabitants. I have, in that time, been fortunate enough to meet many other junkers and members of the Congress including Arbiter Trenton who has graciously offered to sponsor my application. Which brings me to where I am today.

I believe that the time has come to serve my fellow Junkers as a Congressman so that they may gain from my experiences as a veteran Junker. Also I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to the Junker Congress for the diligent efforts made to keep all Junkers safe in a hostile galaxy. I only hope that I posses the wisdom and tact required to assist the Congress in continuing your noble work.

Respectfully yours,
Robert Halsey a.k.a. Bobby_the_fence

Greetings, Honorable Junker Congress:
As a junker, I have seen what you do and I said to myself: "Hey, this is a big thing, and it's growing! I would like make it even bigger, with my hands and my life". After that, I'm here, a little pilot at your service.
This is my story:
Twenty-five years ago, I was born in Rochester. My parents, former Outcasts, were hiding from LPI. They were running out of Cardamine and she was pregnant, the abstinence syndrome could have killed us both. The nearest place with cardie was Rochester, my first home.
Ten years later, LPI caught them. They were sent to a Cryer research institute, dying after 4 weeks of pharma-torture.
Since I was 17 I have been smuggling Cardamine in New York system, from Omicron Alpha. No lawful force has caught me yet.
A few years later, I decided to explore the Gallic sector. I made some kind of neutral "friends" there...well, at least they don't hate me.
Months ago, I met a group of gentle pilots, who helped me to buy a Salvager in my hard times (completely out of cash, gallic cigars are not a cheap thing). I started helping them on their operations.
And here I am, drinking my fourth beer at Yanagi's bar, enjoying the smoke of the finest tobacco, going to inject me some liquid cardie, telling you my story...

I hope I don't overdose tonight. I hope I have more tobacco in my ship (Damn, it smoke by itself!). I hope I have enough time to drink another couple of beers... I hope you count me in.

Only yours,
Héctor Rubén Heródoto, a.k.a. Hector.Herodotus

Hey brothers,

Bubba here. I would like to let all know that Hec here is 1st class. I have traveled many times with him and he is as dependable as he is pleasant to be around. No matter if it is a quick smuggle or many many trips for supplies, he is always up for whatever we were into. He will not shy away from a fight either, I might add. He is my brother and I know you will be just as proud to call him your brother as well.
Stop in at Yanagi, I'm sure he will get you a drink and tell a good joke with it. : )
I wholeheartedly sponsor his application and look forward to him coming home to have that .:j:. painted on his ships. Cheers

A man steps into the bar at Yanagi--

He only has a few drinks, despite waiting for a decent amount of time. A vaporizer for Synthetic Marijuana sits like an ornament in the center of the table.

When finally approached by the contact, they both spend a moment to enjoy the "ornament" before speaking calmly over the table.
Aces: "'lo there, my friends and brothers know me as Aces, and as a Junker I'd like to do my part and apply to become a Congressman. I've spent a great deal of time working hand in hand with other Junkers in the Sigma systems. Out there we have managed to coordinate a large-scale scrapping operation, as well as aid other Junkers in the area. There's nothin' I've enjoyed more than workin' with these folks, finding scrap and other goods that fall off of ships around Sirius. These other Sigma Junker gentlemen can likely vouch for my good name. As a former Captain and experienced combat pilot, I hope to contribute to the further greatness of the Junker Congress' good name! "

The contact looks at him carefully, responding with only a few words.
"We've seen ya around Pilot, let me pass this along, I'm sure we'll see you around the Depot soon enough."
Nodding in acknowledgement, Aces smiles and steps from the table. "It's been good havin' a moment to relax, and have some conversation with a station beneath my feet, but its back to the scrap aye."

Aces returned to the hangar, leaving with yet another full load of Oxygen and Water on his Salvager.

*hic!* Brothers, you gotta know Aces is THE MAN! I have flung with him on every system, supplying bases and stuff *hic!*.
I put my recently known name to sponsor him, you won't regret his admission.
He is a great pilot, a great trader, a great friend, and pays beer.

Greetings.
