The following information is classified level Sigma Σ. Unauthorized access is punishable under The Order's Black Squadron Security Act, Toledo Convention 804 A.S.

Overview:

Biomechanical servants of Daam K’Vosh. Dormant and unknown to humanity until aproximately 800 A.S. which historians would regard as “The Colonial Conflict of 800 AS” or simply “The Nomad War”. Slomon K’Hara comes from transliteration of Daam K’Vosh scriptures and is closest romanized name that can be said by a human being. The meaning behind the name is Wanderer or how they are commonly named nowadays: the Nomads. Slomon K’Hara are aggressive species hellbent on extermination of humankind, viewing all other intelligent life forms as a competition to their supremacy once their hivemind passed over the initial fight response to archeological dig sites in ruins of their masters.

Nomad parasite in action

Biology:

The Nomads are not uniform species, more like a queenless hive of insects producing numerous specialized drones of varying size and purpose. Every single organism is connected into singular hive mind capable of transmitting information faster than the speed of light in violation of causality without use of a jump hole. General morphology of Nomad can be summed in certain archetypes:

  1. Purifier - Warforms, drones meant purely for reconnaissance and battle. Early Nomads were capable of waging war but lacked shields and variety of weapon systems utilized by human navies. Nowadays even within a single type of warform, one can expect a plethora of configurations aimed to specifically counter threats of varying sizes.
  2. MindNode - Specialized command unit. Despite suppressed individuality and no apparent hierarchy, Nomads make use of essentially “officer” class to direct groups of other Nomads for co-ordinated action. Lesser forms attached to a node are known to experience pain and are thrown into temporary disarray until another node takes over or Nomads decide to accomplish their objectives individually.
  3. Incubi - parasitical in nature, the smallest of all known phenotypes of Nomad with only one purpose in mind: locate and latch itself into any lifeform. Evolved as byproduct of Nomad’s nature to interact with organic Daam K’Vosh technology. Eventual result of Incubi infestation process results of so called ‘Infected’ or “Wild” - New Nomad form connected to the Hivemind but human in external appearance.

Cardamine in its purified form is found within Wilde and Nomad carcasses undergoing rampart mutations. The native grasses of Malta which are processed into cardamine are of no consequence to the Nomads. It appears they are producing cardamine within their own capabilities, with intention to use its DNA altering properties to grow at accelerated pace. Strand of humanity that crash-landed on Malta clearly were not intended end-users, however Outcasts as they are called by rest of Sirius are the only humans tolerated by the Nomads.

Omicron Minor, No Man's Land 826 A.S.

History:

Believed to live alongside Daam K’Vosh as a slave race. Whether Nomads existed before as distinct species - whether possessing intelligence or not - is debatable and due to extend of interference of K’Vosh in their design, the information is unattainable for us and possibly even Nomads themselves. Nomads known today come from re-awakened hives scattered all over Sirius sector. Worth noting, original Nomad colonies are located only within safe distance from Omega 41 supernova radius. With lack of oversight from their creators, this species had resorted to act upon its primal instincts and conditioned programming. It can be said with certainty that Nomads did not fully awakened from their dormant status until Houses began combing though remains of their creators on a scale previously unseen.

The first recorded human casualties to Nomad threat was Rheinland expedition which unearthed ruins upon Skagen. Everyone, from mere crewmembers to researchers were infested and sent out back into Rheinland as infiltrators. From that point onwards, Nomads slowly assumed key positions within Rheinland Military and finally government itself. Chancelor Niemann was the highest ranked official confirmed to have been infected during the period of so called Nomad War. Infestation remained limited to Rheinland in early stages.

Event that sparked the Nomad War was destruction of Freeport 7, wreckage of still can be found in Sigma 17 star system. The Nomads allegedly were triggered by a shipment of artifacts from Bretonian dig-site on planet Pygar, which were active unlike previous findings. Casualties of Freeport 7 disaster were nearly total. At this point, Nomad agents expanded their network into Liberty where they came into conflict with The Order, at the time merely high level black ops outfit in Liberty. The Order lost this battle, framed for Freeport 7’s destruction and fled to Omicron systems.

The Order insurgents and its Sirius-wide network of spies and operatives battled the increasing Nomad influence culminating in numerous assassinations attempts on fallen members of The Order and high profile infectees. One such was memorized in history as Assault on Donau in year 800 After Settlement. Kusari was third and finally last House that fell, ripped apart by Rheinland armada and internal power struggle between normal and contaminated humans. The Order campaign gained momentum and notoriety with more daring raids against Nomad strongholds of Heaven’s Arch and Zone 21.

Nomad War ended with Battle of Toledo 801 A.S. when The Order mounted a counter attack against newly discovered homeworld of the Nomads at the time. Aliens, whose vast majority at the time was bound in the Colonies were unable to mount a successful defense. With their mindshare shattered and primary power source turned against them, up to 90% of Nomad specimens had perished momentarily.

The Nomads remained insignificant and disorganized force until resurfacing in 816 A.S. to wage war upon humanity once more. The Order was weakened in protracted long war against Core who set out to destroy the organization in its entirety. Nomad and Core forces pushed The Order on every front to a brink and jointly invaded Toledo in dusk days of 818. It is the first instance of planet killing weapons being used in history with a total death count of nearly a million human souls. With war against Core continuing to this day, Nomads were free to spread into Sirius once again. WIth dire implications to The Houses, neither side can defeat the other in a decisive battle much like in the first Nomad War.

Territory

Several lairs, converted space stations and infected enclaves can be found all across Sirius sector. Notable Nomad fortresses include Heaven’s Arch in Tohoku, Tau-117 (known as Drake), Inverness and Omicron Iota. Newer hotspots of Wilde activity point towards Thuringia, Sigma constellation and independent worlds between House of Liberty and Kusari.

Notable expanse of space in Galactic northern east of Sirius Sector has been placed under quarantine, centering on Omicron Iota. Only authorized personnel may enter with caution and The Order forces have been instructed to enforce quarantine with lethal force if found necessary.

Technology

This particular alien species are technological parasites. Their biology innatively interacts with active Daam K’Vosh infrastructure consistent with decoded transcripts of the progenitor race. The Nomads were intended as caretakers and in more extreme circumstances: also first and last line of defense. To this day, Nomads react with extreme hostility to any human in possession of Nomad / K’Vosh technology or remains of it.

Nomads possess inborn ability to understand, integrate and repurpose any living tissue they come across. They have proven ability to modify themselves beyond the original programming, adapting to rising threats with incorporating shield systems equivalent and introduction of specialized ‘cysts’ - organs functioning as weapons.
