The missons are not possible, it is not possible to abort missions without leaving the game.

I have 3 characters and missions fail with all of them. Cannot abort either and must restart . Given up trying now.

Someone mentioned in the shoutbox earlier that this is a known issue and will be dealt with (remembering of course that it's Christmas, so staff are probably busy with RL).
