Ok... Council ID says we can demand contraband from traders.
Factions like EFL and IDF openly aid Gallic Royals, supplying them with military supplies.

Wouldnt it be well within Council right to redirect any cargo ship carrying military supplies (under the condition that it may be considered contraband) to a Council or allied base, or otherwise dispose of the cargo?

And if they refuse, you blow them up? That doesn't sound like good public relations for a revolutionary movement that is claiming to liberate people from oppression and prevent a war with Sirius. "We are here to liberate you from the Gallic Royal House and end war. Surrender your cargo or die!"
But sure, you can always ask politely. If they refuse, use it as a platform for propaganda and let the Maquis/Unione Corse/Brigands do the dirty work of blowing up civilians.
There is unlikely to be a tremendous amount of trading traffic in Gallia, since the Bretonians are trying to stop all traffic through Orkney, the GRN and GRP are hostile to all Sirius corporations, and the Outcasts control Omicron 80. What does get up there safely shouldn't be set upon by literally every faction they run into. As it is, The Council is the only one not gunning for them already.

EFL and IDF are enemies to you and you can pretty much destroy them for helping the Royal behinds. the Traders from Sirius should be allowed to enter as llong as working only with your planets and bases. if you know they working for the royalists you should be treating them like the enemy.
now i have unrelated question. if the Junkers are enemies with the Council, or you see them as such.. They have no way in really or out
If they use O-80 to enter they will have to pass later through Champagne or use the hole to Burgundy which will take them right outside your base Macon what do you suggest? how will it be in RP for junkers to move in and out of Galia?

i see it like the Corse also wants to have their hands clean and they will chose to let the Brigand do the dirty work or do it while no one looking and no eyewitness

***Warning: "Reverse Piracy" Referenced Below***

Xoria:
To the first statement... Of course not. Not once did I mention ever blowing up the trader.
I was aiming at something more to the second statement. Maybe even going as far to give the trader what they "bought" the cargo for, in return for its disposal, or redirection to an allied base.

I didnt mention Outer-Gallic Traders, because wouldnt it be OORP for them to dock on Gallic Royal bases anyways due to Gallic Royal's hatred to outsiders? This was only about Gallic Corps carrying military supplies.
Bretonian Lockdown of Orkney is being... settled, though any definite agreement has been stopped for now since all the opposition to its inRP removal.

Weedalot:
EFL and IDF, while being enemies, are still Corporation run by non-militant pilots, Civillians. As Xoria said, itd be wrong to blow them up unless of course in self defense..

Theres two entrances to Lorraine, one by Champagne controlled by Council and Allies, another straight into Burgundy, Junkers, being Council enemies would likely go straight to Burgundy.

My confusion.... Is in the fact that Champagne, which is heavy in factions hostile to Gallic Royals, is accessed by Tradelane and Jumpgate. Instead of Lorraine, which is heavy in factions allied to Gallic Royals.
Wouldnt it make more sense to have a trade lane / JG to Lorraine, leaving Champagne accessible only by Jumphole?

Council ID Clarification - Weedalot - 03-13-2009

yes the one that takes you to Burgundy is right outside council base its not right is it? there should be a navy controlled entrance as well

Council ID Clarification - Guest - 03-13-2009

The Burgundy JH is actually out in the middle of nowhere. At B5

The Lorraine -> Champagne JH and JG are near a Maquis base.

But anyways, back on topic....
Council + "Reverse Piracy" to gain Military Supplies.

Bump...

Would we be allowed to... encourage a gallic trader shipping military supplies to transport them to a Council base? And to add to this thread, is it safe to assume Cardamine / Synth Marijuana can be considered contraband that is OK to destroy the ship carrying it, in the interest of protecting gallic citizens from harmful drugs.

Council ID Clarification - Xoria - 03-14-2009

First, no one in the Council will likely encounter either cardamine or synthetic marijuana because there is no reason to transport either of them into Gallia, and second, since commerce/communication/cultural exchange between Gallia and the rest of Sirius has just begun, no one in the Council should have any idea what cardamine or synthetic marijuana is, so they could hardly call it contraband.

Council ID Clarification - Guest - 03-14-2009

Well.... on that issue, Xoria.

Theres the fact that its a strange substance never before seen to Gallians, Council would definately have questions about it, or would refuse to allow it in to Gallia, Because they dont know what it is.
