Fire and Fortune - Discovery RP reminder. - Tunicle - 08-20-2023
The Devs are unbelievably busy getting the release of Discovery Fire and Fortune ready.
This will hopefully attract new players as well as stimulate some of our older fliers to return. To try and help we have already started to try and tidy up the forum so people joining do not need to look at things now of no help flying the Discovery Universe, suggestions or out of date material location gratefully received.
In a similar vein we are also directing attention to other areas.
Imagine your surprise if you think you are joining a RP server and the first ship you see is named after a piece of nurses underwear quickly followed by your favourite post-midnight foodstuff flying past. That surprise may be confounded if it turns out these ships belong to official factions thus causing you to question the RP claim.
This will always have some degree of interpretation so err on the side of caution, or ask, but please remember
1.4 - All character, faction, ship or station names must be easily readable and roleplay appropriate. The use of profanity, country tags, memes, pop-culture references, non-English letters, or excess symbols is not allowed. For examples, see here.
tldr: change inappropriate names before we need to.

Eh where's the line exactly - e.g. a lot of unlawful lower class characters have meme names, but it's kinda a roleplay appropriate meme

I don't think it's a huge ask for people to use common sense, both when naming stuff and in response to this announcement. The Rogue naming scheme is still light-years away from anything like Skull.Emoji, Ligma.Balls, or NOMAD_GENERAL_ALIEN.
Personally, I like that we're maybe finally moving towards taking a harsher stance (read: any stance at all) on this kind of stuff.
