Subject: Proposal for Diplomatic Discussion
Classification: High

Hola Señores,

I am Miguel Perez, an Observer within Malta Hyperspace Starfleet. Recent records have brought to light the presence of your signature within one of our bases during a past dealing.

Understanding the dynamics of shifting leadership over the years, I believe it is prudent to seek clarification and establish an open channel of communication. The purpose is not to cast doubt but to ensure transparency and comprehend the historical context of such interactions between our organizations. As an Observer with expertise in diplomatic engagements and navigating uncertain situations, my role involves fostering understanding and cooperation between groups. I propose a diplomatic dialogue where we can discuss this matter in detail, exchange perspectives, and address any concerns that may arise.

I suggest continuing our discussion in the same communication channel, at your convenience. I look forward to furthering our dialogue and appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Atentamente,

Subject: Breaking borders

Been a while, Starfleet.

Yes, I had sent Albert into the northern regions of the Taus to find a particular piece of equipment. Didn't expect him to break the crossing and fly into the space you had advised us not to fly through. I'm glad they aren't hurt or the Arcturus destroyed. They did manage to find the equipment, which lines up with his signature being recorded on one of your stations.

With one of ours breaking the border of your home space, I imagine this leaves us in a rough position. Your words, however, suggest otherwise.

As Always, Godspeed

Classification: High

Señor Leon Vicci,

In response to your recent communication, we acknowledge the incident involving your pilot, Albert, and the unintentional entry into Omicron Alpha. We have conducted a thorough review of our records, verifying the sequence of events that led to this occurrence.

While we explicitly discouraged travel through Omicron Alpha, we made an exception for your pilot on time based on our past positive collaborations. This decision was influenced by the historical rapport we have developed, including your significant involvement in a classified summit and joint training initiatives with the Starfleet.

To address this matter and prevent similar instances in the future, we propose an open discussion. The purpose is to establish diplomatic protocols and mutually agreeable arrangements that will contribute to seamless collaboration. Malta Hyperspace Starfleet is prepared to offer safe passage and support to Starfliers in exchange for adherence to shared protocols and collaborative efforts.

We look forward to your input on this matter.

Atentamente,

Subject: Transit access in Alpha

Training with one of my ex-pilots and the Summit. There has been a bit of recorded history. Well, let's get this started then. I'm happy to put the incident behind us if you are.

Being very familiar with our assets and performance level, I'm not convinced that we have anything to offer that you may be able to obtain yourselves. On the flipside, we have been needing to take trips into the Omicrons recently and of course, we have had to take the scenic route due to the crossing being shut to us in the northern Taus.

That presents an option for yourself, and something I am quite curious about. What would Starfleet need from us in order for the Starfliers to gain transit access in Alpha?

As Always, Godspeed

Señor Leon Vicci,

Regarding the recent incident involving your pilot, Albert, we are of one mind on this matter. Let us put this behind us.

We understand well how the Starfliers' greatest strengths lie in research, exploration, manufacturing, and judicious use of exotic equipment. The knowledge and connections you possess to areas beyond Sirius are things that much stand out. However, in fact Alba Station and Gargantua are our own strong research and development centers with important manufacturing capabilities. And especially, Alba Station was the source from which Albert secured that equipment.

Given our respective abilities, we suggest the creation of a cooperative mechanism. We hope to work together on occasion with our groups. The Starfliers' partnership would come into being when the specialist knowledge and unique capacities of the Starfliers are required in a particular project or undertaking. For your expertise and skills, we can provide safe passage and give the guarantee of neutrality whenever Starfliers get active in our operational areas. This would enable us to make use of the capabilities of both our organizations. We think this method is in both parties interests and is conducive towards our business.

We welcome your feedback on this idea, and would look forward to hearing your opinion,

Atentamente,

Our primary goals are exploration and research, we have no need to produce our own equipment. In short, it's a cycle of re-investment that allows us to use high classes of technology. Funny... it all started with the single "Bustard"-Class ship. Now look how far this cycle has gotten us.

Starting simple would be best, no need to overcomplicate things. We need transit access within Omicron Alpha. Our records, at least superficially, show it may be connected to Omicron Theta. That would enable us easier access into the heart of the Omicron Edge Worlds.

What would be an equally needed item or service that would match our request? If this is agreed on and works out over the next handful of months then we may take it a step higher.

As Always, Godspeed

Señor Leon Vicci,

Your observation regarding the direct connection between Omicron Alpha and Omicron Theta systems is indeed accurate. We acknowledge the advantages that this link offers in opening up a door to inner Omicron Edge Worlds.

In exchange for the requested transit access to Omicron Alpha, we seek your support in transporting scarce resources from deeper sectors of Sirius to our research and manufacturing facilities, Alba Station and Gargantua. To ensure minimal disruption to your operations, we suggest that these resources be brought along during your passage through Omicron Alpha, originating from the point of your journey.

If this arrangement works and is deemed fair on both sides, then we shall be happy to take it up a notch in the future.

We look forward to your comments on this proposal.

Atentamente,

Dropping off a few crates of materials to grant us transit within Omicron Alpha is something I can agree on. Can't promise any high quantities, as we do operate ships that are smaller than what the average pilot flies around.

Though of course, I still want to make sure we do not cross any boundaries - to my knowledge this sector is your home space, so please do tell us which areas within that sector are off limits. We're only interested in the pathway between the Tau-37 and Omicron Theta rifts. Keep them from crossing any boundaries... again.

As Always, Godspeed

Señor Leon Vicci,

We understand the limitations of the crafts you operate, and your offer aligns perfectly with our current needs for research purposes.

Regarding the off-limits sectors, you are free to navigate the pathway between the Tau-37 and Omicron Theta jump holes without any concerns. However, I advise not straying from that path to any other sectors, and to be cautious and cooperative in case any other Maltese ships show interest in you. Although that won't be a matter of concern, as long as you're able to explain your presence in the system and our agreement in a careful manner.

Glad to see that your pilots have been informed of this update. Two of our Fomalhaut transports were sent out to Omicron Delta to obtain some Iridium. Along the way we passed through Alpha, where one if your own pilots had green lit our passage.

Keep this up, maybe soon we can talk about the next layer of this arrangement.

As Always, Godspeed
