P.S. I know your system editing pains. Although I haven't edited equipment on patrols and more complicated stuff before, I have a pretty good idea on how hard it's going to be...

It's mostly making sure that when you change stuff in one place, you triplecheck it doesn't require you to make changes in other places as well. Exclusion zones defined in both the system file, and referenced in the corresponding nebula/asteroid zone ini - and when removed, removed from the zone inis as well. Or crash... Adjusting ship type used for an encounter in npcships - ensure the loadout uses the same ship archetype in the loadout ini. Or ships with no guns...

There was only one guardian, and it had a l8 shield and all l8 guns. Totally wasn't this guy though, yeah, totally wasn't me.
