Is it against the rules to have the swear filter save your butt? A pirate with misc pilots and junk approached our patrol like he wanted attention so we gave it to him, then poof he was gone

It's f1ing essentially, go ahead and file a sanction as f1 if you CBA.
This can also be done by /renaming a ship in a fight. You instantly DC though, with no notification message or anything. Insta-cloak.

Rather than kick how about paralyze the player in place for a few seconds. Bonus: it would have the extra benefit of discouraging the actual swearing

Well this can really happen unintentionally, i remember yelling at somebody in pm and accidentally being kicked in front of other people. But yeah, that's pretty much an abuse.

If you think it was an abuse of the game mechanics then file a report and the admins will look at the situation. It's probably the same as F1ing.
