Hello my friends, I was practicing some manouvers and looking for a prey too, but something came up, a Hacker told me some interesting things about some of our colaborators. Cobra, I leave this to you. It's yours to decide

Viper.

Information, especially the kind that lacks citations and substantial proof, from a party like the Hackers should always be treated with indifference. The Hacker in question could be telling you the truth, but it's more likely that he's just trying to stir the pot and incite conflict between us and our partners. Don't underestimate how manipulative those former executives can be, they used to make a living from exploiting people like you, and they're still trying to do it now.

Cobra, you're right. Just unprovable whispers.
Sir, I have a report.
An indie Xeno aka "Acanthophis" joined Brian Cortesch and me in our patrol. He caught a Planetform vessel in Magellan carrying military vehicles from Liberty. We take them back., XA-Sonoran came to pick the cargo up. The Bretonian ship is no more, as for the crew, we leave them floating near the Freeport 4 wreck. It seems that all of this caught the attention of some BHG and Navy ships who came inmediatly after us.
. We escorted Sonoran to Vespucci , he departed to a safe spot. As for the rest I believe Brian got caught after he offered to defend the Magellan gate from the advancing enemy ships, the indie xeno faith is unknown. And I... I will need a new ship. A HF patrol got my pod near Monterrey.

Morreti;

I have a mildly exotic proposal for you. I was browsing through some scrap & derelict auctions, and I stumbled over a charming little gem named the Sunshine Seeker. It's a 15k-tonnage watership originally built for fishing, converted for environmental monitoring, and decommissioned in 809, currently enjoying a quiet life of slow decay at Los Angeles' Coiner Beach. Apparently that's where most of the planet's waterships end up to wait for deconstruction by scrappers or erosion, depending on which happens first. You learn something new every day.

Anyway, I sent the consigner a friendly message, asking if the ship can be disassembled in any convenient fashion for off-planet transport. They told me it wasn't intended for it, but a good team of engineers could make it so in a few days, if required.
Apparently it's mostly just missing the skin, which was some particularly corrosion-resistant alloy they peeled off pretty soon after decommissioning for salvage. It even has most of the environmental monitoring equipment still intact, for what that's worth. It's powered by a typical fusion generator which they assure me, works perfectly fine.

I have to say, I'm intrigued. Because I can think of a certain oceanic planet that could do with some experimental surveying sea-side. The current bid is hovering just under four million credits, and there's only been three changes in the past 48 hours. If they're willing to deliver the pieces to somewhere convenient, let's say Bethlehem, I'm tempted to bid.

Stracke.

Make a bid, we can afford to stretch until the number starts to get close to six, at that point it's simply just going to be a missed opportunity. There's very obvious utility behind the exploitation of an ocean world, the most obvious of which is food. An army marches on its stomach, and while the occasional synth foods care packages have helped, they aren't enough.

. . . . .Activity picked up as a call for supplies on Freeport 14 is put in. Attracts all kinds of people. Locals, Zoners, freelancers... undesirables. Two were found, polluting Ontario with their exhaust and existence. One sod who sold his soul to Bretonia to further their 'cause' had their debts resolved with antimatter. The other, a foul appearance of Gallic technology under the flag of 'Daumann'. Chose to insult us with not only their presence but their words. Honestly, the aftermath was quite more pleasing to view than what was there before.

To everyone;

I am going to need some assistance with a major project I'm kicking off.
I've placed a bid upon a derelict watership up for auction on Los Angeles, with the intention of moving the vessel to planet Wichita in Kansas, a (seemingly) uninhabited oceanic world I've had my eye on for a while.
The consigners have agreed to have it disassembled for space transport and will be shipping the pieces to Bethlehem as soon as the auction ends or I pay the buyout price. So first things first, I want the pieces brought to Milford. It's an enormous load and I'm not sure any of our ships besides the Death Valley will be able to handle it, and certainly not all at once.
Be smart about this and don't get the Zoners in trouble. The pieces are huge and awkwardly shaped, so loading is going to take a substantial amount of time. Have one of you cut the lane to the station and distract any traffic heading for the station while you're loading.
I would like to have this done as soon as possible after the shipment arrives, because renting that much space on Bethlehem is shockingly expensive.

At Milford, we're going to examine what we've bought clearly and plan its reassembly, including rebuilding the hull which will require a substantial load of suitable alloys. I will try to order those as soon as possible.
Now, I don't imagine even the Death Valley has a single compartment large enough for the whole vessel, so we're going to have to do final assembly planetside. I imagine we would want to construct a temporary platform with a large enough crane to maneuver the individual segments. According to my preliminary research, none of the planet's islands are permanently above water, so we'll need to research the oceanic phases and set up a time plan accordingly.

We'll go further into operational planning once the work starts at Milford.

Stracke.

Have Volunteer Greene assist you on this, she has experience as a mechanic of sorts, although mostly to do with big haulers. I'm sure the same principles carry over. The rest of this operation is decidedly in your ballpark, so I'll leave the execution of it in your hands.

We're getting a what now?

Okay, my own skepticism aside for a moment. Getting a boat sealed against water shouldn't be very different from getting a spacecraft sealed against the vacuum - you actually have a little more room for mistakes.

Obviously I'm going to have to take a look at this baby once we got all the pieces in some quiet place. Check if we got everything, see what we still need. If there's some form of documentation or schematics, that would be one hell of a blessing for me, but given enough time we can do without. The only thing that's really important is to get all the major repairs and retrofitting done before planetfall, so we can literally just throw the pieces together once down there. There's not an awful lot of drydock space down on Wichita, after all. And you don't want half your ship to drift of into the see I imagine.

As far as transporting the pieces goes I'll let other people handle that. I used to maintain haulers, not load them up. But if you lot need help with that, I'm not going to argue.

Good fishing, lads
Greene
