simple question - Hagen - 02-24-2013

Am i wrong or not? Last two days i'v been pirated by players with friendly IFF and having a pirate ID. Shouldn't they have both ID and IFF to act as a pirates? for example a Freelancer ( friendly to my faction ) with unlawfull ID, and if that is not right where i can report those players?

RE: simple question - indy.miner1 - 02-24-2013

you cant, unfortunately its part of the game and been discussed before

pirates love that way

traders hate that way

no one wins

(pirates do in the end tho)

Your rep sheet does not determine if someone is your friend or not. Their/your ID and Role Play does.

So as i am with Gateway Shipping i can just change my ID and ship and become a pirate? That's ridiculous. In my oppinion that simply forces newcomers to leave the game as we ( the newbies ) make money mainly by that way.

i dont think so, im not really sure, ive never been a pirate, i think as soon as you equip the pirate id you get rep hacked or something

Many Pirate ID players use Freelancer IFF, you'd best just get used to that. As soon as you get within 10K of a ship, if it has Freelancer IFF I suggest you select them and press F9. If it's a roc or eagle it's very likely to be a pirate.

Also freelancer iff does make some sence, as they are independant (freelancing pirates). Which other iff would be better? Also you said in first post that Freelancers are friendly to your faction. I'm afraid not, Freelancer by the very definition is an independant person, they are not a group so you faction cannot be allied to all freelancers. Maybe you mean't your ship itself has them as green on rep sheet, we that's just game mechanics, what defines who you are friendly or enemies with is the ID not IFF. (i.e navy guard iff as standard comes up as Hostile, that doesn't mean you assume players flying under that iff are your enemies, they are still navy players)

The mistake here is you have Freeelancer as friendly (green). You cant trust a Freelancer. Set them to neutral.
