' Wrote:@Akumabito: maybe you haven t noticed, but important trials are often held behind closed doors. - thats the times when all you see from the trials are some drawn pictures.... .
No, unless there is a very pressing reason for privacy (such as national security) trials are public. You see drawn pictures because most judges don't allow camera's, but like the guy who drew the picture you are allowed in to observe.
' Wrote:I have to agree with Jinx on this... reports should be anonymous because those involved ARE still innocent, the guilt comes after the admins are able to prove it, then the sanction post is made.
And at the time sentence is pronounced there is no longer a presumption of innocence to protect, so at that time the entire sanction process, including the admin discussion should be made public to alliviate fears of bias and uneven punishment, right?
I for one certainly don't mind complete visibility from the start though, just as is done in all civilized courts, as being accused is not the same as being guilty and there should always be a presumption of innocence by all toward the accused.
Especially since the appeal process is denied to some following their sanction, that makes it doubly important that it be open prior to the sanction, otherwise you get innocent people who are not allowed to defend themselves, not allowed input that might show their innocence, not allowed to see the full evidence in some cases and are found guilty despite their innocence.
' Wrote:the problem is not the content of the reports... the problem is that the reports are headlined and subtitled - and those 2 little lines can already ruin a players reputation.
like i said - think of an innocent player. - but a newbie that has never visited the forum, so he hasn t got a name at all...
then you see
OORP!! and PVP whorage! ( as a headline ) <enter playername here>
so when the player actually shows up ... everyone will regard him as the oorp pvp whore. - and that with a locked content. but its those two little lines that should be invisible, too.
I actually see This now. Never knew they were there like that. Will avoid this in the future.
Note to self, don't say anything that might be confusing or you might get side tracked on when it's really late at night and you've been making up for the Freshmen's mistakes by sprinting back to the 18 and slide-tackling someone... :$
Second off: I meant the Rule Violation report, where the admins and moderators do what they can to keep the violation reports anonymous, a lot of them are subtitled with the person being reported's name. You can see this subtitle for several hours afterwards on the "View New Posts" button, or in the Website Portal. So, I'm asking if we could add something to the template saying to leave the subtitle empty, and head it with the type of violation that is being reported.
Does that make more sense? I've had a long week...

Thanks!
EDIT: And Jynx got it right. Listen to him/her.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
I don't mind the subtitle being empty, doesn't affect me wither way, but for reputation sake, empty it. If we must laugh at the rule breakers, we laugh at the SANCTION report, as Tenacity loves...
