I'm afraid that we're going to have to make that appointment sooner rather than later, you see my thrusters condition really hasn't improved all that much - infact it's gotten about ten times worse.
A little while after we went our separate ways I was switching from my thruster to my cruise engines. Well that was an ill advised thing to do because during the charging process I heard something like a small bomb going off at the rear of my ship. At this point I decided to go to the engine room and see what the hell had just happened, well I guess you could say it was like moving out of the frying pan and into the fire, literally. I was greeted by a raging fire, fortunately the ships fire response system kicked in, which most likely saved the ship and my life.
Here's the aftermath of the whole ordeal:
Even just moving on impulse now makes me feel like the ship has turned into a ticking time bomb. I luckily found a passing repair ship, whose captain told me that my ship was nothing but junk, still they at least bothered to tow me from the middle of nowhere back to Liberty space. Though that wasn't cheap mind you.
To make matters worse I'm due to head out on a supply run to the deep Omicrons in a matter of days, if I miss the deadline for that then I wont be getting paid any credits at the end of the month. Which isn't a possibility for me, especially after I had to pay some recent fines, who knew that Cardamine wasn't legal in house space?
So you see I'm in a bit of dire situation. If there is anything you can do for me, Where and when should I drop my ship off? The closer it is to the Colorado system the better as I don't like the feeling of piloting this thing just now.
Oh yeah and if it helps I've attached my specific engine and ship model to this transmission, although I'm sure after our meeting you will have that information.
I'll be awaiting your reply Lucy, I sure as hell hope you can help me out here.
Model information: Wrote:Ship model:BK-65 "Serenity"-Class Transport Engine model:PTE-15 Small scale fusion motor MK-1
Well, I suppose there's an element of distrust with us lot due to our usual activities but hey, you seem co-operative enough so I ain't got a problem. Call it business.
Anyway, I've had a look at the images you've provided and err...wow. I can't say that's going to be an easy fix. It's good to see that the rest of ya ship was functioning enough to put it out before the whole thing went up. That wouldn't have been good. Obviously. If it comes to it, the information you've given me will be of good use. Replacements will be needed.
Welp, I learnt a lot in my independent days back on New London but I doubt i'll be fixing something of that scale myself. I'm sure if I explain to my family that you're not some next pervert then I'm sure they'll allow you passage. They're not a fan of the Kruger lot, they're always expecting some kind of "favour" in return for fixing their ships up. Anyway, my parents were in Liberty too last I heard so I guess that helps. I'll try get hold of 'em to arrange a day and time. I'll get my Salvager out to you when it comes to it, just in case you break down and need a bit o' towing.
I'm not sure I can give you an exact price at the minute as it depends on the time it takes and just how much labour's required but it looks like you ain't got much of a choice.
Oh and one last thing, who knows who could be prying in on these channels so uhh, keep the names of illegal substances out, yeah? Heh.
Here's the latest, I've been contacted by an old acquaintance that owes me a favour or two. They have said I can that I can borrow one of their ships, this looks like a step in the right direction, however I need to be headed out to the Omicrons by the end of this week otherwise I won't be able to finish my job in time.
All that means that I'll need to get my ship to you ASAP, preferably within the next couple of days, however I won't be able to wait around whilst you fix the thing for me, I hope that won't be too much of an issue. I'll still be able to get payment to you when you need it for new parts and well whatever it is your doing to fix my ship up for me.
When your ready for me to bring my ship down to you just let me know via this channel, oh and yeah I think it might be a good idea to keep your Salvager on standby like you said. with my luck and the state of this thing I'm half expecting the engines to fly off the ship altogether.
Alright well I'm available either later today or tomorrow, as are my parents. I've left my Salvager in Puerto Rico so perhaps meeting me Texas-side might be for the best, if you're able to manage that. I'll help you over to our nearest workshop. Payment will need to be prompt but hey, you're lucky you picked me of all people. Heh.
Thanks for the fast reply Lucy, it's good to hear from you so soon, but yeah I am quite desperate. What I'll be delivering could turn out to be a big pay day if done right, or alternatively been gunned down by the wrong sorts of people if I screw up. Anyway, that's nothing for you to worry about, on to business.
What you have suggested should work out for me, I'll move my Transport through to Texas later on tonight and we can meet up tomorrow at some point. I'll keep a channel that goes directly to my ship open, so you should be able to link up with me in space when you and your parents are ready to do so.
Hi Lucy, I'm sorry that I couldn't stick around and get to meet your parents or pass along any useful information regarding the ship after we landed. You see I had already pre-arranged transport to the omegas where my secondary ship is waiting and all loaded up ready for me to get going, and the timing was rather close cut so to speak, If I had been ten minutes later the transport would've left without me.
Once you've managed to figure out how much this is going to cost me why don't you send a transmission to me over this channel telling me what you want to do to my ship along with an account to send the credits to and I'll get on to it as soon as possible. So do you reckon that'll work out for you? If not I'm open to suggestions.
Welp, repair has been underway for some time. The engine had to be totally replaced along with the thruster. Top quality work, mind you. By the time it's done I don't think you'll have another problem quite like it ever again. I had a look 'round the rest of the ship as well while I was here; I hope you don't mind, heh. It's a neat thing you got. Man, I should invest in one of these at some point. I do love my Salvager but ehh, getting a 'lil old.
Anyway, to business. Replacement parts are going to include the following:
- PTE-15 Small scale fusion motor MK-1 x1 - 9,000,000 SC
- Enhanced Thruster - 826,000 SC
- Armour renovation (due to damage to the plating around that area) - 5,000,000 SC
- Service charges - 10,000,000 SC
So that totals uhh...Twenty-four million, Eight-Hundred and Twentry-Six Thousand Sirius Credits pluuus any further donations you'd like to send my way {She winks}. Considering how much you traders and smugglers make, I'd say that's easily coverable for you. Payment should be sent to JM|-Downward.Spiral when you can. Don't delay too much, parents don't like waiting for customers to pay up once the work's done.
Hello, I've received this transmission a lilt *static* la *static* due to how *static* fa *static* I am from any *static*
*A loud electronic buzzing sound fills the speakers, somewhat similar to standing next to a sub-station but amplified many times over*
***CONNECTION ESTABLISHED***
Ah, I never realised there was a button to increase the power to the comm array. Now that you can hear me I was saying that I received this transmission a little late due to the fact that I'm very far out from house space or anywhere at the moment.
You'll be glad to know that I have managed to wire the credits, as well as a little bonus for all the wonderful help you've given me. As well as giving you a rather substantial amount of credits you also have my gratitude for helping me out on such short notice.
I know you've already done a lot for me, but if you're not too busy I was wondering if you would be able to send me a picture of my refurbished engine room, you see I still won't be able to return for a week or so to pick up my ship but I would really love to see how things are looking now.
Maaayn! That noise had my head spinning. Please don't do that again.
Aaaanyway, that's a generous gesture of ya's. I'll keep that...somewhere. Nice and safe. Good to here you're still alive out there. I remember my parents said something about Omicron Theta I think it was? They'd gone to talk to the zoners about a possible small-time business kinda thing on their freeport. Not sure if that went ahead though. I know it's pretty hostile out there so watch your back!
I've got a hold of a quick snap of the new interior.
Involved changing the whole layout but the nature of it means there's still space for as much cargo and such as before. Parents ain't seen much of the Serenity since it was commissioned Sirius-Wide so they went all out to make sure it was back to it's former glory... and then some! Professional teams of mechanics and architects for the win. Well worth it, don't you think?
Woah, now that's something! I really wasn't expecting as much as all of this, I thought there was just going to be a bit of duct tape here and there holding it all together, but I must say that I am more than pleasantly surprised with the work that's been done on it. This was definitely worth the credits, if I'm ever in need of help again I'll know where to go.
Oh I'm glad you like the bonus, it's been more than earned with the work you and your parents have completed. I should be back to Planet Denver later on today to pick it up, incase you don't see me whilst I'm doing that I just wanted to say thanks and goodbye, well at least until something else of mine blows up, which with my luck could be any time soon.
