Good day or good night... I guess it doesn't really matter in Kepler.
You may or may not recognize us but I represent the AFC as President.
The Archangels F.C. have been visiting and staying at Ames Research Station's bar and hangar for some repairs and meetings for some time now.
We are actually quite close neighbors as well as we operate around the Kepler system.
I apologies that it took me so long to learn about who the owner of the station is... so I am writing in part this transmission to extend my hand in greetings to my neighboor in the system of Kepler.
We are looking, however to see, if there is a possibility to be able to rent out a portion of the base as our club's hang out?
We'd be needing some hangar space and a room or two large enough for a conference room... lounge... perhaps a pool table and a mini bar.
We are settling rather well in Kepler so it would be nice to have some space rented out on the installation for some neutral business partners that do not need to be informed about more secure club information.
Furthermore, I would like to ask what kinds of research is being done on Ames? I might have some things I would love to chat about that you might be interested in.
In short: Energy Generator Design, Compact Ship Engine Design, and a custom station mechanism.... thing....
It cannot be really explained in much detail in short, though I would love to know if these types of research would be something up the station's alley.
PS: By the way. That weed you had on the base was excellent quality. Pleasure doing business.

Good morning "Sunny" -
I've seen members of the Archangels around in space as well as on Ames, but never had the pleasure of chatting or meeting one of you before, so it's nice t' finally have contact established. Not a surprise though, given I'm hardly on Ames anymore, and leave much of the operational side of things t' my other counterparts. No harm done though!
Regarding your request t' rent out a portion of Ames, for a club hangout? Rather a strange request for a research station, but... stranger things have happened! In fact, one of my franchises is located here: "McCool's Tavern". Regardless, I would ask that you supply credentials and affiliations with the local authorities such as the Liberty police and Navy. I only ask such because this is a research station, and any move that would endanger our staff and labs here would have t' be denied. I assume you're not necessarily on great terms with them, but again, I just want t' make sure that if we do proceed with renting out space t' you all, it won't cause issue with the authorities and unwanted hostilities.
Now, the meat of your transmission that caught my eye even more so. At Ames we have multiple projects, but the biggest is the continuation as well as purpose of Ames for the study of the Dark Matter clouds in the area. As for the Ingenuus Research Group as a whole, we have projects ranging all over, and definitely include Power cores, prototype systems, and larger industrial applications. You name it, more than likely we have or currently are looking into it.
Hope you are doing well and thank you for the quick reply. I am under the impression you are or will be quite eager to hear our proposal.
Before I mention though this, I have attached below our reputation with the local bordering lawful entities. I have taken these rep samples from two different ships. One being an older ship and the other a much more cleaner version. You may review them all as you wish. Please note however that they do not give a clear picture and thus I shall summarise that the issues with these three, as well as the Kusari entities, are from some fines for petty laws broken... such as an illegal ship... What can we do though since it is from a Junker's hands? These offenses have been done in the past though and we are currently having minimal problems.
We can assure you we will continue to respect the laws put in place for Freeports and we wont use Ames as a get-away location to hide.... not that we wont need it anyway.
We are rather interested though for a place to meet, drink a little or grab a joint, and have a place to repair and upgrade ships as a quick stop. We do not ask for more.
Hopefully that will clear things up appropriately.
I am really happy however about learning Ames station has been doing Dark Matter research. This is excellent news!
You will be happy to then learn that I am eager to hire and sponsor for such research being done.
You see, Mr. McCool, our installation is located in one of these Dark Matter clouds. For the time being we have been using conventional means to provide power to our installation.
With so much potential energy however around us, I have decided we need to go more... environment friendly...
We are basically looking for any research and development to do with using Dark Matter as fuel for a generator so that we can power the station. The use of these clouds to provide power would be an enormous push, and I do believe researchers always need someone to sponsor them for greater advances in research, no?
I would love to hear from you on what you think of this proposal for a Dark Matter Generator.

Hello again Sunny -
Thank you for providing the requested documents. Everything checks out, and we've begun clearing out space in docking bay F for you and the AFC members.
Onto your other request. I do believe we can indeed help with such! I'd like t' bring in Rachel Snow, my counterpart within the IRG, who will join me in this project. I'm sure she'll respond t' this comm when she is able.
At this point in time, do you have any work done on such at your station? Anything that you could bring forward so we're not duplicating any work already done by the AFC?
I love when things run smoothly and I am already thankful that I have contracted you to help in our project we have in mind.
If you wish we would like to invite both you and Rachel Snow and anyone else that you would like to hire from the IRG team to take a look at our installation. I would assume a good site analysis of the cloud around the station and the station itself would be a good place to start.
To answer your question rather quickly... No. The people who had this concept in mind have gone MIA along with their ideas. We do not really have records that I know of that exist of what they were thinking about such a technology. I could however speak to one of my members that is in charge of out mechanics wing. He might know something.
Besides that, the AFC do not have the equipment to do this type of research and development... so in short I will suggest for now that we go from scratch on our part and you maybe bring any information you have to the table to start out from.
You're help and eagerness is greatly appreciated and we will support your research to discover more about the Dark Matter fields along with their possible uses for converting into energy.
Please let us know as well when you are stopping by. You are also welcome to our club's bar for some R&R.

Greetings Sunny -
We indeed would be very interested in visiting your installation. When is a good date and time t' make our way there? I can't speak for Rachel of course, but I will forward on t' her what time works best for you and see if she can join us.
As far as the missing records, not a problem. Sometimes starting from scratch is best, as that allows more freedom in the conceptual phase and for us t' determine the scope of the project unhindered. What we can do though is provide insight into the work already done regarding Dark Matter on Ames, and see what can be applied.
I am curious though, you mentioned Energy Generators, which I assume are tied t' the Dark Matter cloud. But what about the Compact Ship Engine as well as "Custom station mechanism"? Would you be able t' elaborate?
Whenever you are in the neighborhood you are more than welcome to stop by. If I am not immediately ready or you just want to visit even in the future, there is The Black Cherry at the base to visit for a good time. I'm quite flexible with my scheduled so... perhaps in less than 24 hours even we could make some arrangements for a visit.
In terms of the other projects... to not go into much detail the 'custom station mechanism' is more of a construction engineering problem to design and construct. The idea is the create our own gravity on the base using centripetal force with rings that are used as the living spaces. Basically... we are looking for anyone that has knowledge about this type of physics and as well someone with the knowledge of space-building construction. This design though can only be possible.... or at least much easier... if we have the dark matter generator for power put in place. We currently have nuclear generators doing the work for power and the base is split in three pieces. By introducing the 'station mechanism' however we would be connecting the bases parts together as well as making more space from the gravity generators that would not be needed and other things such as hangar space...
Essentially... we have been constructing our HQ in a way towards a Master Plan. For now we are slowly moving from one transitional layout to the other and as such we are getting continuous supplies of Reinforced Alloys as well as other materials.
The other project is to due with a separate ship design. Unless you are in on the project we cannot give out much information but the essence of it at the moment relies on creating a more compact engine design that gives a larger cruise thrust than it's competitors. Basically, Mr.McCool, it's a ship designed for racing and racing only.
Anyways, let me know when you can come and if Rachel is coming as well. We could talk things over face to face even more with perhaps a drink in hand, no?

Evening Sunny -
Very interesting projects! While we have experience in ship construction, station construction is a little more than we are capable of at this current time. With that said though, Physics and engineering projects are definitely within the realm of possibilities for us. So we could take a look at that too.
Regarding your engine design too, well... we're currently developing new power cells of various sizes, and being able t' design a custom engine system t' harness such could be done.
I'll be visiting sometime in the next day or two, and I'll see if I can bring some of my other staff as well. Once there, we should finalize which projects you'd want us associated with, as well as negotiate the contract for such. Until then, enjoy Ames!
