It had been some time. Numerous battles, systems explored, and lonely days later Scott and Fe'Lyrna found themselves in the Chester system, docking with a Nomad station (of sorts) and being repair by numerous microorganisms that functioned like nanobots, only for Nomad bio-ships.
As he normally did, Scott tried to disengage his body from the bio-ship for some fresh air. He was shocked to realize he couldn't. When he thought of 'his body', he thought of the ship. It took some serious thinking to realize that what had once been his body was now completely integrated into the Nomad vessel, and that his organs were barely functioning. Only his brain was doing anything, and new neural pathways connected it to the Nomad ship in a way that made ever disconnecting it impossible.
You are us, now
It was then that the full import of his situation hit Scott -- there was no going back now, no miracles. The ship was dissolving his body slowly, and it was nothing but useless luggage now.
