Faction Overview:
The Golden Chrysanthemums are a terrorist organization seeking to overthrow the current Kusari government and institute a matriarchy.
History
Most scholars date the start of the group as the publication of Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom in 642 AS. The author, Yuyu Matsuda, was a young but critically acclaimed poet. Charismatic and well-spoken, Matusda had a considerable following among young Kusari women who found their lives lacking in direction but were reluctant to become married and fulfill their traditional role in Kusari society.
Matsuda decried what she saw as the corruption of the Kusari male-dominated culture and preached a revolution led by the long-suffering women of Kusari. These ideas were eventually encapsulated in Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom, in which Matsuda described a fictitious nation called Yomi. A place of fat, lazy male bureaucrats who handed out concessions at the whim of entrenched mega-corporations, Yomi was eventually engulfed in revolution and united under the rule of a benevolent Empress personally selected by the goddess Amaterasu to watch over her people.
Matsuda looked to the foreigners as a model, where women could be president and run corporations. The Chrysanthemum went on to become a best-seller. Unfortunately, in 648 AS, Matsuda crossed the dangerous line between ideas and actions when she was implicated in the botched assassination attempt of the planetary governor of Kyushu.
Rather than face the ignominy of imprisonment, Matsuda chose ritual suicide instead. An increase in attacks on government personnel and installations followed soon after. Neither as well armed as the Blood Dragons nor as influential as the Hogosha, the Golden C. have been more of an irritant to the government than an actual threat.
Unfortunately, any attempts to locate the Golden C. base or learn more about their organization has been thwarted by their willingness to die rather than talk. A Golden C. pilot will trigger her ship's self-destruction rather than be captured, and suicide attacks are common. Attempts to infiltrate the Golden C. have proven equally fruitless. On several occasions the Kusari government has received the finger of an undercover agent wrapped in a page from one of Matsuda's books.
The Kusari State Police keeps a watchful eye on the faction, but has been unable to completely control them. This is at least partly due to the assistance of the Blood Dragons, who have made use of the Golden C. base in Hokkaido as a rest stop on the long journey to the inner systems of Kusari. The Blood Dragons also share the group’s desire to overthrow the government and reform House Kusari, although perhaps using more sophisticated methods.
What do you need to know when starting out as new GC player?
First of all. Every fully initiated member is addicted to cardamine. A drug produced on Planet Malta. This addiction is permanent because of the DNA mutations it creates within the user. Cardamine has several positive effects, including longer life span and sharper reflexes. Cardamine withdrawal is very painful and eventually leads to death. Consult more detailed lore on cardamine if you want to know more.
The Golden Chrysanthemums are a woman only faction, also refered to the Sisterhood. Yes there is a male GC NPC on Morioka, called Charles Worthington, who is looking to join the GC, but this NCP was imported into Shikoku from the retconned GC Guard System, which had a very messed up lore to begin with, like a GC cardamine planet. It is my view that he is affiliated instead of a GC member. His current rumors are also a remnant of the retconned Guard system. I have submitted a new set of rumors for him to better reflect his position as affiliate.
To set up a GC character, the quickest way is to use the restart command. The command to restart as a GC is /restart KuGC. You will end up on Ainu Base in Hokkaido.
Japanese names begin with the surname and are followed by the given name. A GC character will be named like Yamada Izumi, where Yamada is the surname and Izumi is the given name.

Unfortunately, in 648 AS, Matsuda crossed the dangerous line between ideas and actions when she was implicated in the botched assassination attempt of the planetary governor of Kyushu. Rather than face the ignominy of imprisonment, Matsuda chose ritual suicide instead. With the death of Matsuda, the radicalization of most of her followers began and an increase in attacks on government personnel and installations followed soon after.
Ainu Depot was the first space station built by the Golden Chrysanthemums, though the exact date of its construction is unknown it is speculated to date back to late 660 AS. Ever since its construction, Ainu has served as a valuable launchpad for raids upon traffic passing through Kyushu and Hokkaido much to the discontent of the Kusari State Police.
With the repair of the Battleship Matsuda completed, Ainu has lost its status as the GCs headquarters though it has retained its importance as an installation with the addition of a drydock, finished in late 824 AS. The ability to maintain the Sisterhood’s fleet of fighters, logistics and gunboats is the first step on the road for Golden Chrysanthemums to become an independent and self-reliant movement.

Battleship Matsuda, Kyushu, Sector FG 2
CLASS: Meiji
CREW: CLASSIFIED
ARMAMENT: CLASSIFIED
The Battleship Himeji, commanded by Chujo Michio Raikatugi, was originally stationed outside Heaven's Gate - an ancient Imperial fortress in the Tohoku system that Governor Tekagi had subverted for his own purposes. The Himeji served alongside a guard fleet led by the Battleships Ishioka, Musashi and Sennan. In 800 AS at the peak of the Nomad War, the Blood Dragons led an attack on the fortress resulting in the Nomad-infested Tekagi's death.
The Matsuda was one of the casualties of this battle. A Blood Dragon bomber wing struck the ship while others distracted its escort fleet. Two torpedoes struck the bridge, killing the entire bridge crew instantly. A third torpedo struck the engine, exploiting a critical design flaw in the Meiji class, and the subsequent explosion crippled the ship. Its crew was forced to abandon ship and seek refuge on Heaven's Gate.
The abandoned ship drifted into an asteroid field, and was assumed destroyed by both the Kusari and Nomad forces it had been a part of. Eventually, Golden Chrysanthemum (GC) smugglers encountered the reasonably intact wreck by chance in 810 AS After a more thorough inspection, the GC decided it was worth the expense of salvaging the ship, and with the assistance of their Blood Dragon allies, managed to repair the engines to the point that it could safely jump.
The ship was brought into Okinawa where it was partially restored over the course of five years, until it could make the journey to Sigma 19 to receive more extensive repairs from the Chrysanthemum's Hispanian allies. Upon its restoration, The Sisterhood re-christened the ship "Battleship Matsuda", in honour of Yuyu Matsuda, founder of the Golden Chrysanthemum movement.
With its sublight engines fully repaired in mid-825 AS, the Matsuda was able to move back into Kusari, positioning itself in the Seiran Cloud to strike at convoys along the trade artery between New Tokyo and Planet Kyushu. While the Matsuda's engines are fully operational, her weapons systems and sensor suite are highly outdated, making a direct confrontation with a modern day Toitsu class or even a well maintained Meiji a serious concern. For this reason, patrols are frequently dispatched to ensure the Matsuda has ample time to flee if ever discovered.

Constructed in late 815 AS, Morioka is a small depot constructed by the Golden Chrysanthemums in the southern part of the Shikoku system. Hidden by the Keiun nebula, it is mainly used by Cardamine smugglers. The Liberty Rogues and the occasional Lane Hacker visits the station for this purpose. Blood Dragons looking to make repairs also visit, but they rarely stay longer then needed.

Nishiara is an outpost station established by the Golden Chrysanthemums in 823 AS after its discovery by the movement. The station was built with the purpose to strengthen the movement's presence within the system, as well as to provide a staging ground for Golden Chrysanthemum patrols and reconnaissance in Sigma-59 and the surrounding systems.
It was later discovered that the station's location and relative peace was ideal for hosting conferences and meetings between Golden Chrysanthemum and Outcast representatives. Nishiara is where most discussions, agreements and debates between the Outcasts and the Golden Chrysanthemums take place, with diplomatic envoys frequently seen entering and exiting the station. As a result of this development, Nishiara is relatively well-defended by both GC patrols and Outcast escorts, and its location is normally kept untold to outsiders.
There are many security measures in place to make sure that the words muttered behind closed doors remain secret. It is rumored that the station's air circulation systems are laced with cardamine to weed out would-be spies that would try to gain access to the station and eavesdrop on meetings.

Places of note (Wrecks)
Shibuya Maru (Shikoku, Sector CD 6)
The remains of the Shibuya Maru. The Golden C. ship was making a Cardamine run to Galileo when it was intercepted by a Bounty Hunter.
Ohtori (Kyushu, Sector D 2)
The remnants of the Ohtori, an escort to the Golden C. ship Yukari Maru. The ship was intercepted by a Kusari Naval Forces patrol while crossing the Kyushu system.
Sakura Kikui (Okinawa, Sector B 7)
The wreck of a Golden Chrysanthemum fighter piloted by Sakura Kikui. It was destroyed in combat against the Hogosha while scouting in the Hasuda Asteroid Field. The fighter's weapons array is still partially intact, though its pilot was sucked into space through the shattered cockpit.
Escort Alpha (Okinawa, Sector B 7)
The wreck of a Golden Chrysanthemum fighter destroyed in combat against the Hogosha while scouting in the Hasuda Asteroid Field. The fighter's weapons array is still partially intact, though its pilot was sucked into space through the shattered cockpit.
Escort Beta (Okinawa, Sector B 7)
The wreck of a Golden Chrysanthemum fighter destroyed in combat against the Hogosha while scouting in the Hasuda Asteroid Field. The fighter's weapons array is still partially intact, though its pilot was sucked into space through the shattered cockpit.
Developed in conjunction with Blood Dragons, the "Blossom" was the first ship designed by the Golden Chrysanthemums. It underwent final prototype testing in late 815 A.S. and full-scale construction finally began in 817 A.S. The ship replaced most of the previously used fighter craft amongst the Golden Chrysanthemum pilots and quickly became the most recognisable ship of their organisation. Designed as a light armored, but agile fighter, the ship has thus far excelled in fulfilling the objectives that its designers set out to achieve.

C12-F "Iris" Golden Chrysanthemum Very Heavy Fighter
Description
Created in a remote facility in the Shikoku system under the codename 'Project Warflower', the "Iris" is the answer of the Golden Chrysanthemums to the superior fighters of the Kusari Naval Forces. By intensive study of surviving technology salvaged from the wrecks of naval fighters, the Golden Chrysanthemums managed to combine the armored structure of the Orchid with the agility of the Blossom. The result was their own Very Heavy Fighter, which they can manufacture using the technology available to them. The first successful prototype was completed in 826 A.S. and lived up to its promise in its first combat deployment. Soon afterwards, the "Iris" VHF was set up for mass production to be used by GC operatives all across Kusari.

C7-F "Orchid" Golden Chrysanthemum Bomber
Description
The "Orchid" was designed by the Golden Chrysanthemums to rival the bomber of the Blood Dragons. The Blood Dragons assisted in the bomber's development, but the Chrysanthemums had a different set of specifications in mind. They wanted something that could rival military bombers, sacrificing some agility and speed for firepower and armour. The women piloting the ship wanted something that could deal a nasty blow, and were willing to sacrifice some, but not all, of the maneuverability of the Blood Dragon bomber, and as design progressed, it drifted more and more from its cousin ship. Ultimately, the Orchid Bomber's unique design became one of the fundamental ships in the Golden Chrysanthemum arsenal.

This is our Kinkakuji, however humble it may seem to you. Here our new recruits must learn the teachings of Yuyu in the "Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom," our source of inspiration. It says that Kusari will eventually be engulfed in revolution and united under the rule of a benevolent empress personally selected by the goddess Amaterasu to watch over her people. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot
133390
I graduated from New Tokyo University with a degree in Quantum Engineering. I found work at Samura pouring coffee for my male boss. When the Golden C. approached me at a Roppongi bar, I jumped at the chance to finally fight back for the women of Kusari. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot

Interspace Commerce has moved to the Okinawa system to ensure the stability of Kishiro's operation in the area. It's a big, long-term investment. Though, the really important part for me is that they have brought Golden Chrysanthemums along too. That's how I ended up here, after all. What's my purpose on board? I mediate between the Interspace Commerce executives and my sisters on Battleship Matsuda. It helps to coordinate attacks on specific targets, inflicting the maximum possible damage on any attempts that Samura makes in its bid to expand into Okinawa. Interspace lets me know what should I be aware of and I share this information with my superior on Battleship Matsuda. She then organises an assault wing, which then intercepts the target. So far this strategy has kept Samura's hands away, but the Hogosha are starting to become more irritating as of late. - Golden Chrysathemums, Fumiko Shimazu, Furyoku Station
462058
I was naive and foolish when I first joined the Golden Chrysanthemums movement. It happened on Roppongi station and I remember it up to this day. My mind wanted a change and my heart craved for a cause worth fighting and dying for. They told me that the change I wanted was already there and all I had to do was be brave enough to seize my opportunity. I follow this principle up to this very day. - Golden Chrysathemums, Fumiko Shimazu, Furyoku Station

We use the Kyushu Jump Hole to the northeast of this base to get into the system. These Outcasts are weird guys, but they sell us what we want. Cardamine is essential to the Golden Chrysanthemum way of life. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Yasuko Hamada, Cali Base
475402 (GC Guard Rumor)
We have strengthened a lot since the Chanai biodome project was completed, and also due to the Bretonian-Kusari war. The population has increased dramatically and our technology is catching up with the help of Blood Dragons. The Golden Chrysanthemums have climbed to a whole new different level. We're at the peak of our power right now, but even such advances are not enough to take on the Kusari Naval Forces in head on combat. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Bartender Arisu Itokawa, Morioka Base
475403
Women have been an isolated part of the community in Kusari for centuries. This is why the Golden Chrysanthemums seek to destroy the system which oppresses them. One day Kusari will have an Empress, who will end the tyrrany of men. I just hope I will be around to witness it. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Bartender Arisu Itokawa, Morioka Base
475404
Michiko Arai is crazy about the Blood Dragons, but we should be careful not to become to dependant on their aid. The Golden Chrysanthemums must grow strong so we no longer need them. After all, when the government falls, we will be facing the Blood Dragons. Both the Golden Chrysanthemums and the Blood Dragons want the same thing. To rule Kusari. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hisano Noguchi, Morioka Base
475407
The Golden Chrysanthemums have two main sources of income. The first one is piracy, of course. Goods stolen from Kusari transports serve us well. Some of them are distributed from Morioka base to satisfy our most basic needs and the rest are sold off at Morioka, making us a nice profit. The second source is the Cardamine trade. We buy our Cardamine from the Outcasts and sell it in Kusari. These two financial branches make for a solid platform on which we base our entire economy. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Mizuki Nemoto, Morioka Base
475418
The Golden Chrysanthemums have expanded greatly in recent years, experiencing a major population boom. Our population now is somewhat four times larger than that of Blood Dragons, although they are mainly fighters while our organisation has a very large amount of civilian residents. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Michiko Arai, Morioka Base
475421 (GC Guard Rumor)
My wife and two children were killed on Glasgow Outpost during a Kusari Navy foray into Leeds, when a stray firestalker missile slammed into the station. I swore revenge, but the Bretonian Armed Forces wouldn't take me, they have war rules and all of that and I didn't want them to be sued by the military court for whatever I'm going to do next. One of my friends got me in touch with the Golden Chrysanthemums, who eventually transported me out here on one of their undercover transports. I know they are comprised mostly of women, but this wouldn't be the first time a man has joined them. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Charles Worthington, Morioka Base
475422
I sometimes work at the bar here in Morioka on the condition that I do not drink alcohol myself. The Sisters hate drunk men bothering them, but I am not like those Rogues who occasionally show up here. I got in a fight with one of them when he bothered Michiko. That guy ended up in the airlock. I pride myself for introducing Bretonian tea to Morioka. I know this sounds cliche, but a Bretonian man can't survive in foreign space without his tea. It is like Cardamine to Bretonians, I tell you. Just between us. Try to mix some Cardamine in the tea, you won't be disapointed - Golden Chrysanthemums, Charles Worthington, Morioka Base
475423
The Golden Chrysanthemums allow me to stay on Morioka and I occasionally join them on raids. I even started to take Cardamine to fit in better and to show my dedication to their cause. I know I am unable to become a full member of the Golden Chrysanthemums because I am a man, but that does not stop me from supporting them where I can. The Golden Chrysanthemums on the station do not mind my presence and some of them have become good friends of mine.- Golden Chrysanthemums, Charles Worthington, Morioka Base
462076
The floors of this ship have been awash with blood in the past. During the Nomad War of 800 AS, this vessel was commanded by Nomad-tainted soldiers who were tasked with guarding the late Governor Tekagi's Tohoku fortress. After Tekagi's base fell to the Blood Dragons, the Matsuda, called the Himeji then, attempted to escape to Okinawa, where she was intercepted and boarded by Chrysanthemum forces. We've been based out of her here in this system ever since. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Bartender Akiko Yamato, Battleship Matsuda
462079
The Hogosha and the Chrysanthemums cannot coexist, they represent everything we seek to escape, alter, and destroy. Soon, the corporate dogs shall be driven out of Okinawa, and the Chrysanthemums will fly unmolested by the conservative and discriminatory mores the archaic and outdated government attempts to perpetuate. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Bartender Akiko Yamato, Battleship Matsuda
462080 + 462081
I have a doctorate in microbiology from the University of New Tokyo, and had hoped to be able to study and research the Alien Organisms of Kurile. I ended up fetching drinks for my male boss at Samura, so I became a Chrysanthemum. What choice did I have? - Golden Chrysanthemums, Izumi Kinashita, Battleship Matsuda
462082
We control Okinawa's Cardamine run aboard this vessel. The Chrysanthemum's the driving force behind drug running in Kusari; we have an intimate relationship with the Outcasts that supply us with the substance, and Outcast fighters and freighters frequently dock here. We don't merely smuggle the drug, however; rather, it's a crucial component of many of our rituals. The sisterhood is grateful to the Hispanians for granting us clarity. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Bartender Akiko Yamato, Battleship Matsuda
470167
The Cardamine we get from this base goes straight to Ainu. Sometimes we come here with H-Fuel from our base so that we can make a little money to buy extra Cardamine for personal use. We don't get bothered by anyone in this system. Even the Bounty Hunters leave us alone. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Yasuko Hamada, Cali Base
470168
We rely upon the Outcasts of Tau-23 to supply us with our Cardamine. We sell it to New Tokyo through Roppongi to fund our operations and to pay for the drugs that we use ourselves. Cardamine use is part of our culture. It is a symbol of our free spirit and the dream of a better life. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Yasuko Hamada, Cali Base
470169
The Ohtori was escorting the Yukari Maru from Cali to Ainu when it was ambushed by a Naval Forces patrol crossing Kyushu. The cargo ship fled to safety while its escort turned to fight the attackers to the death. There are rumors that the Ohtori may be still intact somewhere in the Seiran Dust Cloud. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Yasuko Hamada, Cali Base
131604
We run supply shipments of Food, Side Arms, and Software to our base in Hokkaido. It's a long, dangerous run past the Farmers Alliance in Kyushu and the Bounty Hunters of Shikoku, but well worth it financially. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Nomura, Leiden Base
131605
Down here we run Cardamine and H-Fuel from our base in Hokkaido in exchange for many of our basic supplies. Leiden indirectly supplies the Blood Dragon base in Chugoku via Ainu. That's the real reason we have to make so many runs down to this alien place. They often protect us from hostile attacks, so it's worth it. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Nomura, Leiden Base
131606
The Jump Hole to Shikoku is very close, just to the north of this base. It is the first of three jumps to get to the dangerous but beautiful Hokkaido system. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Nomura, Leiden Base
132958
Roppongi is nice to visit. The foreigners are polite to us, much better than Kusari would ever be. They have lots of luxury boutiques for all those IC employees here, so we take advantage of the opportunity to shop in relative peace. I hate Ainu. If only I could live in New Tokyo again ... - Golden Chrysanthemums, Reiko Saito, Roppongi Station
132959
We will continue our fight until a woman leads this country. I do not believe in much of the strange things they preach on Ainu, but one thing is certain. The women of Kusari must be freed of the oppressive yoke of our paternal society. Only then will Kusari move forward again. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Reiko Saito, Roppongi Station
132960
I think it's time for my afternoon Cardamine break. We sell our cargo here, since they won't let us land on Tokyo. All the hip Tokyo types come here to get their supply. That's how we recruit new girls to join the cause. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Reiko Saito, Roppongi Station
475405
Once you join the Golden Chrysanthemums, there is no turning back to your old life. The Cardamine addiction ensures this. Each of us is fully dedicated to our cause. We will fight until we achieve victory or death. Sometimes this means the same thing, when we crash our ships into the flank of a Kusari naval cruiser. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hisano Noguchi, Morioka Base
475406
Morioka has maintained little cultural value, but its economic role is very important to us. Our economy has become much more specialised in recent years and further development of such logistic centres will be needed in the future. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Mizuki Nemoto, Morioka Base
475408
Our Blood Dragon friends here are welcome, although they can occasionally be troublesome. A few of them tend to favour alcohol a bit too much and sometimes cause a commotion in the bar. Sometimes it can get out of hand and end up with people getting injured. Maybe if they took Cardamine there would be no need for all of this violence. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Mizuki Nemoto, Morioka Base
133386
The only place we can land in Kusari space is Roppongi. The foreigners find us more amusing than threatening, and tolerate our presence there. So we buy Luxury Goods in the boutiques onboard, and sell our Cardamine to the highest bidders in the bars scattered around the station. Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot
133391
We buy our Cardamine from the Outcasts on Cali in the Tau-23 system. They are disturbing people -- always wearing those masks, but we need the Cardamine. It defines our cause and serves as an important security mechanism. All recruits of Matsuda must become addicted to the drug before they are allowed to become full-fledged members. This makes it difficult for the Kusari security forces to penetrate our cell. And of course, they are not women... - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot
133392
We support the Blood Dragons as well as we can. They need access to our base to rest and resupply after crossing the Gap, or after long Kyushu raids. We do not share the same beliefs, but they are not incompatible. We are all devoted to the overthrow of the Kusari government. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot
133387
We are not numerous yet, but that will change as more of the oppressed women of Kusari tire of the old ways. As we speak, underground cells of the disaffected youth are being formed on all the home planets. We encourage them to visit foreign lands, try exotic foods, and experiment with many new ideas. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Endo, Ainu Depot
133388
We must occasionally make the long journey to Leiden in the Independent Worlds to sell Cardamine and buy supplies from the smelly foreigners. The Lane Hackers are strange, but not so bad once you get to know them. The Rogues are disgusting pigs. They always harass us in the bar. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Kazuko Hara, Ainu Depot
133389
Once we are more established in Kusari, we will no longer need this hellish place. Samura puts much pressure on us. Only the assistance of the Blood Dragons has allowed us to survive at all out here. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Kazuko Hara, Ainu Depot

- Golden Chrysanthemums, Etsuko Tanaka, Ainu Depot
462075
A sister perished in the Hasuda field several days ago while engaging Hogosha pilots. Her transmissions were intercepted too late, and patrols in the region could not rescue her. The Hogosha vermin were chased off before they could desecrate our lost sister's Eagle; it remained intact, as it fell to weapons fire rather than mines or missiles, and may yet drift in the asteroid cloud. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ai Takeda, Battleship Matsuda
462077
We are indebted to the Blood Dragons for providing their technical expertise as we reconstructed the Matsuda, she was damaged by the explosion of her fellow battleship Sennan, during the battle against Governor Tekagi's fortress in Tohoku. True, we stole all the materials we required ourselves, mainly from Samura transports, but we were taught how to efficiently repair it by the technicians of Sendai. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ai Takeda, Battleship Matsuda
462078
Our glorious leader, the immortal Yuyu Matsuda, lent her name to this battleship. We consider our base here sacred ground, and will defend it against any intrusion, especially against the vile Hogosha and the chauvinist, unenlightened corporate lapdogs that they serve. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ai Takeda, Battleship Matsuda
462083
The Honshu jump hole is only several klicks removed from here, to the north. We of the Matsuda ensure that our Cardamine runners pass through unharmed, and we also prevent unwanted presences such as Hogosha or the Naval Forces from infiltrating Karatsu. If it moves through that hole, it's read on our scanners. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ai Takeda, Battleship Matsuda
462084
Many of us secretly admire the Blood Dragons. Their grace of flight is wondrous, and they're Kusari's most rigorously-trained pilots. The sisterhood frequently flies alongside our cousins from Chugoku, and we do our best to glean flying knowledge from them. Though many Dragons are male, they are not the swine we've come to expect, rather, they are cultured and well-bred to a fault. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ayame Matsumado, Battleship Matsuda
462067
Have you heard about the new additions to our weapons stockpile? Seems like that robot wasn't lying when he was bragging about 'outside suppliers'. Still, I can't stand talking to that tincan. All he talks about are his 'Cyborgs' and calling everyone 'Meat' and 'Squishy'. But, I have a new portable grenade launcher and EMP gun, so I guess he isn't all bad. He's still a prick though. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Ayame Matsumado, Battleship Matsuda
462085
I miss my boyfriend. He's a Blood Dragon technician stationed at Sendai. We first met when this battleship was stationed outside the research facility being repaired and we've been seeing each other since. I sometimes think he will ask me to marry him, but many of my friends in the Sisterhood think that marriage is a foolish male notion. I do love him though, and I wish we weren't forced into this lifestyle because of our foolish government's conservative views. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Emi Iida, Battleship Matsuda
462086
I've been on scanner duty for the last fourteen hours and just signed off, but I'm back on duty again in seven hours because my replacement is sick. Apparently she hasn't been taking her daily Cardamine supplements and is going through severe withdrawal symptoms, so she's down in medical. Please leave me be, I want to have a drink in peace before I try to grab what little sleep I can. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Izumi Kinashita, Battleship Matsuda
475410
We have operated this base for our Sisterhood for nearly a hundred and sixty years and we are proud of it. No enemy has ever set foot onboard Morioka, except as a prisoner or a corpse, and the station has only ever been attacked once, in 782 AS None of the attacking Hogosha vessels ever survived to report of its location, so it has remained hidden to this day. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Aki Maeda, Morioka Base
475416
I often associate with the Junkers. They are enemies with the Hogosha, just as we are; therefore it makes them natural allies to us. The Junkers are little better than the Hogosha, though. Both they and the Hogosha profit from the corrupt local governments, taking a slice of the black market pie. If the Junkers were to replace the Hogosha, then nothing would really change. The only difference that I see between the two factions is the goods they deal in. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Tamiko Kimura, Morioka Base
475417
Mediating with the Junkers is much more difficult than one would expect it to be. The Junkers cannot really come to us, so we have to come to them. It takes a lot of time and effort to reach the Galileo system where such meetings are usually held. If it were not for the fact that they are also enemies of the Hogosha we would have nothing to gain out of this acquaintance. We hope that one day Junkers will be able to press the Hogosha hard enough to weaken them, but so far the influence they have in Kusari is virtually non-existent. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Tamiko Kimura, Morioka Base
475419
I am very respectful of the Blood Dragons. It was two weeks ago that I was ambushed in Shikoku by four Bounty Hunters when a Blood Dragon came to my aid. My ship was still capable of entering combat, but the Blood Dragon insisted on me staying out of range. He told me that he would destroy the four Bounty Hunters on his own, which he did! I've never seen anyone to fight like that before. I will never be able to express my gratitude. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Michiko Arai, Morioka Base
475420
Have you ever seen a Blood Dragon fight? There is true honour in their ways. Few pilots can match a Blood Dragon in combat. It's a mind blowing experience to see a warrior of such skill handle his weapon like a true master. The Blood Dragons do not use anything to enhance their combat abilities, they win by mere skill. I would have headed for Kyoto long ago if it was not for their old fashioned ways. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Michiko Arai, Morioka Base
475409 (GC Guard Rumor)
It's so beautiful, isn't it? Planet Hiura, I mean. It reminds me of the sight from the viewports onboard Shinagawa station when I was a child and my father used to tell me about the miners working on the surface of Izu, trying to extract small quantities of water and other minerals. I often feel homesick whenever I see Hiura, but I know that as long as our struggle for equal rights continues, we can never go home. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Aki Maeda, Morioka Base
475411
Morioka was built as a Golden Chrysanthemum outpost on the very edge of Kusari. Smugglers from Liberty make frequest stops her to buy our cardamine, while bringing weapons and supplies with them to sell. Some of them think that because we are women, we can't drive a hard bargain. Clearly they never met a Chrysanthemum before.- Golden Chrysanthemums, Aki Maeda, Morioka Base
475412
I have visited Planet Malta myself. One of our Cardamine transport vessels was intercepted by a navy patrol just before entering the Tau region. I happened to be nearby and came to the distress call. With the help of my sisters, the attack was warded off, but my ship was too damaged to make it back to base. Instead I was taken on board of the transport and was allowed to travel with them to the orange planet. It is a sight I will never forget. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Katsura, Morioka Base
475413
Morioka is well hidden in the Keiun Cloud. The Kusari police don't dare chase after us once we leave open space and enter the Keiun Cloud. There are not only Golden Chrysanthemums found in this nebula, but also Rogues and Lane Hackers who come to Morioka to trade with us. The occasional foolish police pilot who does give chase, rarely makes it out alive. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Katsura, Morioka Base
475414
One of our Cardamine transports just arrived at Morioka. It is a dangerous journey to travel all the way to Malta, but it is most profitable to buy directly from the source. The Kusari State Police is attempting to discover our smuggling routes, but we are well aware of this and keep changing them. There are many ways to depart and enter Kusari, more ways than they are aware off.- Golden Chrysanthemums, Hiromi Katsura, Morioka Base
475415
Fuchu prison is located not far from here, another symbol of oppression by the corrupt government. Alot of the prisoners there are Blood Dragons and I shudder to think what might be going on in there. The Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums have launched several attacks on that installation, but so far without much success. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Tamiko Kimura, Morioka Base
475424
Have you seen what the Gauls did to Planet Leeds? It was one of the worst places to live in, but now its a deadly wasteland, unable to support any life at all. I will never forgive Gallia for what they did and I won't hesitate to spill Gallic blood if the opportunity presents itself. - Golden Chrysanthemums, Charles Worthington, Morioka Base
462063
The Golden Chrysanthemums occasionally dock here for supplies, just as they do at Roppongi Station in the New Tokyo system. However, there is less risk for them out here as there are no police or navy patrols in the entire system. It is a shame really, because the Hogosha wouldn't be nearly so audacious with the navy around to keep an eye on them. Either way, the GC girls are friendly enough, and always eager for stories and news from beyond Kusari. - Interspace Commerce, Bartender Kenshin Ohmae, Furyoku Station
462068
There's some real strange stuff going on around here lately. A lot of transports have reported seeing ships with unknown transponders and anomalous energy signatures following some of the GC patrols lately. They aren't Outcast and they aren't Dragons. And that's aside from the recent rash of other 'anomalies' that have been popping up. Lots of mysterious lights and random sensor pings. Something's going on out there, thats for sure. - Interspace Commerce, Bartender Kenshin Ohmae, Furyoku Station
465850
This base was built as a last line of defense for The Alliance. The constant GC and Blood Dragon attacks on Kagoshima forced our leadership to build this complex. It's loaded with all sorts of top of the line Samura equipment. - Farmer's Alliance, Bartender Yoko Mamatze, Cape Soya Station
131265
All of our cruise ships require constant resupply of Luxury Goods for our clientele. I ship Luxury Goods from here at Newark to the Mackinac in the Nagano system. It isn't a joy ride, since there are all kinds of fun exciting ways to get blown to bits on the trip. Hogosha, mad Farmers, drugged out GC babes, Blood Dragons, Outcasts...Bartender, where's my drink?! I'm about to launch and I need three or four stiff ones! - Orbital Spa and Cruise Lines, Travel Agent Miguel Sanchez, Planet Manhattan
132892
The Hogosha are not really criminals, like the GC or the Blood Dragons. They may engage in questionable behavior around Kishiro and foreign shippers' storage areas on occasion, but will never directly attack any ship. Artifacts are harmless trinkets. All this fuss with the bans outside Kusari seem rather extreme to me. - Kusari Population, Bartender Hirotsugu Tansho, Planet New Tokyo
132944
The Golden Chrysanthemums have staged several suicide attacks on the shipyard in recent years. They are not considered a threat, unless there are Blood Dragons in the area, who will often come to the GC's assistance in times of trouble. They make a strange alliance, those two. - Kusari Naval Forces, Corporal Yumi Nakajima, Yokohama Shipyard
133268
They're sending me on the Artifact run to Leiden tomorrow. I don't like going there. Those Lane Hackers are drug addicts, and the Liberty Rogues smell badly. The GC will also show up sometimes, which can be dangerous for us. There have been Hogosha "accidents" in the cloud near the base. - Hogosha, Hiroshi Yamazaki, Kabukicho Depot
133411
Can I buy you a drink? I definitely need one. It was a difficult day. My unit was on a deep reconnaissance patrol in the Shiden Cloud, looking for the GC. We were engaged in battle with the GC for 15 minutes, and then they vanished. Our unit lost Takana-san and Ogawa-san. I was just singing karaoke with them last night, so sad ... - Kusari State Police, Detective Takeo Ishikawa, Sapporo Station
133416
One day Sapporo will be converted into a large complex, much like Osaka. Then we will no longer be needed, assuming that the Blood Dragon and GC is gone. I do not believe that day is coming soon. - Kusari State Police, Detective Takeo Ishikawa, Sapporo Station
133421
One day this system will be full of gas miners, and the enemies of Kusari will be distant memories. The police must first find and eliminate the GC base, which lies somewhere to the west of this outpost. - Samura Heavy Industries, Dr. Kenji Ono, Sapporo Station
133469
I'm in this system operating on behalf of Universal. I handle the problems that they encounter when shipping into Kusari. Let me give you some advice about hunting here: There are two sides fighting a dirty war here. You have Samura paying to kill the Dragons and GC, and Kishiro paying to kill the Farmers and the odd Hogosha. Both sides will pay to kill criminals from Liberty. - Bounty Hunter, Hunter Yoko Maeda, Deshima Station
131408
Outcasts, Corsairs, Red Hessians, Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums, Liberty Rogues, Unioners, Xenos, the LWB, the Farmers Alliance, Gaians, and Lane Hackers -- all these groups attack Trade Lanes. And that's why IC will pay any Bounty Hunter top dollar to kill them, any of them. But especially Lane Hackers. - Interspace Commerce, Bartender Mike Karlin, Newark Station
131610
We get shipments of H-Fuel from the Golden Chrysanthemums in Hokkaido and ship them Food, Side Arms, and Software. Those Golden Cs love the latest Software versions. And guns, they really love guns. - Lane Hackers, Bartender Wade Edmonds, Leiden Base
131611
The Golden Chrysanthemums get most of their supplies from us. We keep them living in the style that they are accustomed to. In return, they supply us with all the Cardamine we can use from their Hokkaido base. - Lane Hackers, Bartender Wade Edmonds, Leiden Base
131616
This is the end of our Artifact smuggling route that begins in the Border Worlds and crosses all of Kusari space. We don't like to see the Golden Chrysanthemums here, but we have no choice if we want to sell these trinkets to the rich Liberty fools on Manhattan. The Lane Hackers seem okay, though -- nothing like those disgusting Rogues. - Hogosha, Tadashi Endo, Leiden Base
131651
Xenos do a lot of their pirating in Colorado. You'll find Lane Hackers there, too. Going north into Shikoku and beyond, you will run into the Kusari criminals such as the Golden Chrysanthemums, Blood Dragons, and Hogosha. - Bounty Hunter, Hunter Chris Lakowski, Ames research Station
131657
The Golden Chrysanthemums that hang out at this base are into their Luxury Goods, probably the daughters of rich Samura and Kishiro executives in Kusari. I like 'em. They're all into Cardamine and stealing -- my two favorite past times. - Liberty Rogues, Mel Jackson, Leiden Base
132038
Bretonia is the largest source of Gold for the entire Sirius Sector. We are heading back to Yokohama with a load as soon as we can arrange the escort. Between Outcasts, Lane Hackers, Liberty Rogues, Xenos, Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysantemums, whomever we hire will have plenty to do. - Samura Heavy Industries, Hakkera Endo, Planet New London
132338
Cardamine was the one good thing that fate gave us. When we first landed on Malta the weak who didn't want to live anymore could go to a better place chewing the orange grass. Taking an extreme dose of Cardamine raw from the grass is almost always fatal, but it's a gentle way to go. It was also a curse, as we became dependent on Cardamine to survive, though we don't get a high from it anymore. Now we use Cardamine to make money. Eventually we'll run Sirius. Once a large enough portion of the populace is hooked, we've got them. The Rogues and Golden Chrysantemums are proof of that. - Outcasts, Lucy Williams, Trafalgar Base
132820
It's been hard to crack into the Kusari market with our drug, because their strongest crime syndicate, the Hogosha, refuse to deal with us. But we have found allies within Kusari who will help us tap that well. The Golden Chrysanthemums have discovered the allure of Cardamine. - Valletta Bartender, Gaetano Brega, Valetta Shipyard
132881
Tokyo is the only place we can buy Light Arms legitimately within Kusari. It's very controlled here -- not like Liberty, I hear. We don't have rabble like the Rogues and Xenos in Kusari -- just misguided souls like the Golden C. and those Blood Dragons. - Hogosha, Takao Shimizu, Planet New Tokyo
132889
Life in State Police is not as simple as it once was. We and the Hogosha had an agreement. Smuggling Artifacts is fine, but not Cardamine. The Golden Chrysanthemums have disturbed this harmonious balance. They insist on importing drugs into Roppongi, where we cannot watch them carefully. IC is not very concerned with their activities, so there is little we can do. - Kusari State Police, Inspector Miki Wada, Planet New Tokyo
132891
We believe there is a Jump Hole in the Kanto Field that leads to Kyushu and points beyond. From there, the Blood Dragons and Golden C. can access our system and attack the Kusari people. We are certain that the Hogosha know its location, but they will not tell us, as it is most likely used for Artifact smuggling. - Kusari State Police, Detective Takeshi Yoshida, Planet New Tokyo
132902
I just sold a shipment of Manhattan Luxury Goods for the spoiled brats of our Shibuya district. The trip from Liberty is tiring, given the threat of Xeno and Lane Hacker attacks. Then you must contend with those crazy Golden Chrysanthemum pirates, who would rather steal their designer clothes than buy them like a proper Kusari woman. - Samura Heavy Industries, Dr. Yuji Nomura, Planet New Tokyo
132927
The life of a Kusari State Police Junsa is not really very exciting most of the time, unless you are posted in Hokkaido. Sapporo is the most dangerous assignment on the force. It is all clouds and radiation up there. You never know when the Blood Dragons or Golden C. will strike. - Kusari State Police, Inspector Junichi Ogawa, Narita Station
132933
I'm headed to Roppongi after this. If I'm lucky, maybe some Golden Chrysanthemums will show up at the bar. They've always got extra Cardamine to share. - Imperial Shipping, Hans Knaup, Narita Station
132940
The Yokohama shipyard has been producing all of Kusari's Naval Forces ships since 100 AS. We have worked hand-in-hand with Samura to forge a great empire. The Blood Dragons and the Golden Chrysanthemums are a threat to the peace and stability that Kusari has enjoyed for 800 years. - Kusari Naval Forces, Corporal Yumi Nakajima, Yokohama Shipyard
132957
You see Golden C. out there in Hokkaido also. I guess that's where they've got their base. They are just a crazy bunch, in my opinion. Bartender, give me a shot of whiskey for the road. - Deep Space Engineering, Dr. Chris Johnson, Roppongi Station
132963
Kusari would have minimal criminal problems if the government agreed to some of the reforms proposed by Blood Dragon and Golden C. sympathizers some time ago. The new government insists on those groups laying down arms first, more likely they just don't want any radical voices in the government. - Interspace Commerce, Rep. Cynthia Williams, Roppongi Station
132964
We allow the Golden Chrysanthemums to land here, since they do not attack shipping indiscriminately. Their dispute is with the Kusari government and industry, and its stifling, paternalistic traditions. We at IC would view any reforms of Kusari society as beneficial to IC's interests. - Interspace Commerce, Bartender Shozen Katsura, Roppongi Station
132980
We view the Golden Chrysanthemums and Blood Dragons as misguided political terrorists who occasionally engage in acts of piracy against our ships. They embody the pent up frustrations that certain elements of Kusari society are feeling towards the glacial pace of change in Tokyo. Now that our influence can be felt in government, we expect these groups to lay down their arms and rejoin Kusari society. - Kishiro Technologies, Bartender Arinori Inoo, Shinagawa Station
133003
We have a little deal with the police -- no drugs, no problems. Some of the young Bosozoku object to that. They usually get a one-way ticket out of a garbage airlock in short order. The Golden Cs are a different thing. We can't control those zealots. Misguided feminists, that's what they are. - Hogosha, Bartender Watamoro Kyubei, Kabukicho Depot
133050
There are several groups with an interest in this region. The GMG lay claim to this space and run frequent patrols, mostly around the Trade Lanes and their Gas Mining platforms. The Hogosha, Unioners and Junkers come here to buy artifacts. Recently, the Outcasts have also become more numerous in the region, probably peddling their drugs to Rheinland and Kusari. The Golden Chrysantemums are sometimes seen with them. Last, there's the Blood Dragons who seem to enjoy a good brawl. No shortage of foes in this space, but that is nothing new to a Corsair. - Corsairs, Alejandro Seve, Lagos Depot
133057
This is not the safest system for a Hogosha pilot. The Corsairs are our allies, yes, but just about everyone else is not. The GMG will shoot us on sight, as will the Outcasts, Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysantemums. Luckily, these nebulas are dense enough that we can usually slip through undetected. - Hogosha, Minoru Hiroshi, Lagos Depot
133378
The Blood Dragons can land nowhere in Kusari space, so we must come here to purchase our supplies from the Golden C. girls. They are all drug addicts, which we do not approve of, but they share the passion for a new Kusari, so we help them fight the evil Samura. - Blood Dragons, Miki Hayashi, Ainu Depot
133383
The Golden Chrysanthemums believe that they have the next Emperor -- excuse me, Empress of Kusari back in a corner of the living quarters in the form of a seven-year-old Kyushu girl. They're teaching her everything she needs to know to run the country. Good luck, Kusari has no Emperor at all now, let alone a female one. - Blood Dragons, Miki Hayashi, Ainu Depot
133414
The Golden C. are the main problem in this part of the system. On the other side of the Gap, it's Blood Dragons. But that's the military's problem. Anyway, they like to attack the gas miners, or wait for supply ships to pass along the trade lanes. - Kusari State Police, Bartender RBT-86, Sapporo Station
133422
We have begun gas mining operations here, but they are not up to full production - too many attacks by the Golden Chrysanthemums and Blood Dragons. The Matsumoto should be stationed here, not up by the Tau-53 Gate. - Samura Heavy Industries, Dr. Kenji Ono, Sapporo Station
133428
We prefer to attack installations and Samura-owned transports rather than raid foreign shipping, which does not help our cause. Unfortunately, sometimes we must obtain supplies. The Golden Chrysanthemums are not nearly as discriminating, which has created a publicity problem for us, since they are perceived by the press as our allies. - Blood Dragons, Tadashi Hashimoto, Kyoto Base
133430
The Golden Chrysanthemums are a bit unorthodox in their methods, but share our vision of a new Kusari. We do not espouse their heavy use of Cardamine, however. That drug is evil, and will prove their undoing. - Blood Dragons, Tadashi Hashimoto, Kyoto Base
133435
The Golden Chrysanthemums are becoming too close to the Outcasts. The allure of Cardamine is seductive, but deadly. If you use too much of it, irreversible physiological changes occur in our body. You are no longer truly human. That is the curse of the Outcasts. - Blood Dragons, Tadashi Hashimoto, Kyoto Base
133442
The only other group that attacks this prison is the Golden Chrysanthemums. They do not have the skill or equipment that the Dragons do, but they are fearless. We kill plenty of them, but they are not disheartened. That dastardly Cardamine is such an evil thing. We must fight each day to keep the people of Kusari from falling to its allure. - Kusari State Police, Bartender Junkei Tsukawaki, Fuchu Prison
133444
The Golden C. usually attack from the Keiun. The bold Blood Dragons will attack from anywhere. Most of the other criminals fly within the clouds to hide themselves, yet the Dragons will cross in open space, daring anyone to give chase, even the military. - Kusari State Police, Bartender Junkei Tsukawaki, Fuchu Prison
133453
This system is a crossroads of Kusari and Liberty shipping. Consequently, we get a lot of Liberty criminals here. There are Rogues and Lane hackers as well as our own Blood Dragons, Golden Chrysanthemums, Farmers Alliance, and Hogosha. - Kusari Naval Forces, Bartender Nagate Oichi, Battleship Myoko
133466
If you are looking to kill Golden Chrysanthemums, head north to the Kyushu Hole in Saiun. The Golden C. also use the clouds to move through the system. I get paid good money to vaporize those ladies. Watch out, if they sense that they are about to be destroyed, they have no problem ramming you. - Bounty Hunter, Hunter Yoko Maeda, Deshima Station
133488
We don't have a lot of enemies in Libertonian space, but we don't have any friends here. My ship got attacked by some crazy women calling themselves the Golden Chrysanthemums. They freaked me out, talking about how I was a male oppressor and such. Hey, the Zoners don't oppress anybody. - Zoners, Lance Harper, Deshima Station
133492
The Golden C. are dangerous fanatics who do not care if they live or die. The Cardamine has made them mad. One tried to ram my ship. Fortunately, I dodged her attack and blew her craft to pieces. - Kusari State Police, Detective Kyoko Sasaki, Planet Junyo
133511
The Blood Dragons are the greatest threat in this part of the system. We also encounter Golden C. and Farmers Alliance attack patrols on the Trade Lanes running from the Jump Gates. - Kusari State Police, Inspector Naoko Ota, Ohashi Border Station
133513
My daughter has joined the Golden Chrysanthemums. It is a terrible dishonor for my family, and I try to keep the fact secret. She was always a precocious child. I only pray she is killed without being identified. - Kusari State Police, Detective Akio Hayashi, Ohashi Border Station
133546
Golden Chrysanthemums lifted our Water supplies twice in a row. I have not been able to bathe in more than three days, nor has anyone else on the base. It smells unbearable. Do you know how badly miners smell? I am slowly being driven mad. - Samura Heavy Industries, Bartender Shingen Aida, Tsushima Depot
133553
One of the greatest threats to Kusari is the spread of Cardamine abuse. The Golden Chrysanthemums have been smuggling Cardamine into Kusari through this system, and it must end. I have ordered all Golden Chrysanthemums to be summarily executed and given flight commanders a red pass on patrols in the Border Worlds and this system. - Kusari Naval Forces, Colonel Takeshi Ogawa, Battleship Nagumo
133555
The Golden Chrysanthemums might be our number one priority in this system, but it is the Blood Dragons who are the greatest threat to our physical safety. The Golden C. pilots are young and reckless; the Dragons are skilled and fearless. - Kusari Naval Forces, Colonel Takeshi Ogawa, Battleship Nagumo
133559
Our patrols in Tau-29 come up against Outcasts on occasion. We know they are the source of Cardamine, but they are not the problem for us. It is the women who smuggle it into our system. Before the Golden C. there was no Cardamine problem in Kusari. The only other encounters we have are with the Gallic Royal Navy. We keep a respectful distance from them, as do they from us. - Kusari Naval Forces, Colonel Takeshi Ogawa, Battleship Nagumo
461670
There's a rumour that the Bretonian Queen is addicted to Cardamine and her military has been supporting the Golden Chrysanthemums in an attempt to undermine the Kusari government putting a stop to the trade. - Gambler, Mogami Yasutaka, Golden Dragon Casino
461807
We're lucky that the police keep the Golden Chrysanthemums busy toward the galactic west, or else this system would be even more dangerous. We generally only have the Dragons to deal with, and those traitors who are in league with them. - Kusari Naval Forces, Bartender Ensign Kazuo Endo, Battleship Sado
461831
We see Golden Chrysantemum smugglers moving from Okinawa to Hokkaido every now and then. We cover them when we can, but once they leave the nebula they are very vulnerable until they reach the Hokkaido hole. Sadly, not all of them make it. - Blood Dragons, Nakae Roku, Ryuku Base
461933
A lot of the technicians here at Misaki spend their days off at Planet Tomioka. It's a short trip, espeically with all the traffic coming and going from that place. We also get shipments of rice and fish from Tomioka here, and pretty cheaply. Easier than traders from Kyushu trying to get past all the Golden Chrysanthemums in Hokkaido. - Samura Industries, Noboru Suzuki, Misaki Station
462061
Damn the Hogosha! They might be legally tolerated by the authorities in Kusari, but Okinawa is still a frontier system in most respects, and the police and military are busy with the war in the Tau systems. We seem to get a raid every week or so now on this base, and I heard that one of Fujisawa's gas miners was destroyed recently after the Hogosha broke through the GMG's defensive perimeter. Furyoku's manager contacted the Golden Chrysanthemums recently in order to request their aid in clamping down on the Hogosha issue, but it appears they and the blood Dragons have their own problems of late. Something to do with a system called Tohoku, I heard. - Interspace Commerce, Bartender Kenshin Ohmae, Furyoku Station
462064
Don't try to hit on the Golden C. Girls when they're in the bar, buddy. They might all look stunning, but they're tough women, for the most part. Still, I managed to get chatting with one the other week and it progressed to the point where we...ahem...best not say here, my manager is watching. But it was really something, let me tell you! - Interspace Commerce, Samuel Peterborough, Furyoku Station
462184
I fly the occasional mission for the Gas Miners Guild as an escort and fighter pilot. There are also several fat Naval Forces bounties on members of the Golden Chrysanthemum. Being a free-wheeling mercenary, I'm able and willing to collect. I've equipped my Eagle with the appropriate shields and weapons for countering the G.C. There's one pilot in particular, Noriko Sato, which I'd like to bring in. - Kishiro Technologies, Jiro Iwasa, Isehara Refinery
470158
It's been hard to crack into the Kusari market with our drug, because their strongest crime syndicate, the Hogosha, refuse to deal with us. But we have found allies within Kusari who will help us tap that well. The Golden Chrysanthemums have discovered the allure of Cardamine. - Outcasts, Javier Hernandez, Cali Base
470162
One of our allies is the Rogues. They aren't our partners as much as our pawns. We have them under control because they are addicted to Cardamine. Soon more groups will fall to the allure of the drug, and they will also be ours to control. I see this upon the horizon for the Golden Chrysanthemums. - Outcasts, Gloria Ruiz, Cali Base
133549
I would love to take a shower; I haven't bathed in days. At least those damnable Chrysanthemums didn't steal our Food shipments or else we would be starving to death right now. Imagine starving to death in Kyushu -- there's irony for you. - Samura Heavy Industries, Bartender Shingen Aida, Tsushima Depot
462055
Adam Sensicle basically runs just about everything that comes through Okinawa. He has his hand in so much dirt he's gonna end up dead one of these days. That or running off to the Chrysanthemums for protection when the Naval Forces finally catches up to him. - Interspace Commerce, Sarah Montgomery, Furyoku Station
462091
We've had an alien biology division aboard Sendai for over half a century. Though the Blood Dragons own and operate this base, we have a surprisingly large contingent of Chrysanthemums here; many were educated and trained as brilliant scientists and the work in xenobiology and xenoarchaeology we offer is the only alternative to a life of crime due to the corrupt, Samura-backed government. - Blood Dragons, Miagi San, Sendai Research Complex
462094
Samura's not present in person in Okinawa, but their pathetic lackeys, the Hogosha, have a base here - somewhere in the Hasuda asteroid field - and constantly attempt to find Sendai in a misguided bid to displace us from the system. The Hogosha are amateurs, their vessels weak, their pilots inferior. Perhaps they can kill the occasional Chrysanthemum, though even there, they're outmatched, but never a Dragon. - Blood Dragons, Miagi San, Sendai Research Complex
462096
Noriko Sato, a fighter ace of the Chrysanthemums, frequently docks here. She's a credit to her sisters; there's many a Dragon that could learn something from her. The Naval Forces have placed a sizeable bounty on her head - well-merited - but she's escaped or destroyed all pursuers to date. I doubt she'll ever be caught; she's far too agile and alert. - Blood Dragons, Miagi San, Sendai Research Complex

The Shibuya Maru was making a Cardamine shipment across the southern end of the Shikoku system when it was intercepted by a Bounty Hunter named Jake Rush. He swears that he opened fire and badly wounded the ship. He searched the cloud for some time, but never found the Shibuya. The word around Deshima is that it never made it to the Galileo system. It's probably out there somewhere in the Keiun Cloud. - Lane Hackers, Dave Beyer, Leiden Base

"We get shipments of H-Fuel from the Golden Chrysanthemums in Hokkaido and ship them Food, Side Arms, Pharmaceuticals, Engine Components, and Luxury Goods. Those Golden Cs love their Luxury Goods."

"Kusari would have minimal criminal problems if the government had agreed to some of the reforms proposed by Blood Dragon and Golden C. sympathizers some time ago. But they refuse to change their fundamental way of doing business, whether it is looking the other way with the Hogosha or supporting the corrupt Samura."
[801 AS] GC Popular with Younger Women
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] NEW TOKYO -- An independent news organization conducted a secret poll recently and discovered some surprising results. It appears that three quarters of the female population in New Tokyo under the age of thirty support the actions of the terrorist group Golden Chrysanthemums. Many of those questioned in the polls stated that they believe what the Golden C. are doing is best for Kusari in the long run. Government sources responded to the findings in an official statement, "Since the terrorist organization began operations Cardamine abuse is up 200 percent, and piracy is up 29 percent."
[801 AS] Infiltrator Uncovered During Initiation
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] AINU -- A government agent was discovered last week when she attempted to become a permanent member of our sisterhood. This is the third such spy. When will the government learn that Matsuda watches over us and will not let interlopers into the house of her visionaries? It is unfortunate that a potential sister of ours turned out to be nothing more than an agent for the chauvinists trying to oppress her own gender. It is our duty to enlighten women like her that have been dragged from the truth by the brainwashing of the patriarchal Kusari culture.
[801 AS] Blood Dragons Honor Us
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] ROPPONGI -- Blood Dragon pilot Kozai Suzuki was saved from certain death a few days ago when he sent out a distress call to any Blood Dragons or Golden C. in the area. The sisterhood picked up his message; fortunately, three of our warriors were nearby. They found him in a badly damaged ship fighting off two Hogosha and immediately flew into the fray to assist. Within moments one of the Hogosha was destroyed, and the second fled. Suzuki-san honored us with his personal gratitude and an original Kuichi Li portrait of Yu Yu Matsuda.
[801 AS] Cardamine Profits Run Higher
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] MALTA -- Cartels across the planet are celebrating tonight after quarterly Cardamine profits were registered. "The criminals that distribute the Cardamine are accounting for a significant portion of total profits," said Jorge Garcia, a profits estimator, "and the popularity that Cardamine is experiencing among the most wealthy citizens of the House systems is soaring." With the introduction of Cardamine into Kusari -- thanks to the efforts of the Golden Chrysanthemums -- plantation growers are enjoying their highest profits ever recorded. Many believe that this is a critical transition point for Cardamine and project that a quarter of all Sirius will be addicted to the drug by the end of the decade.
[801 AS] Changing the Status Quo in Kusari
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] KYOTO -- The Hogosha crime syndicate is trying to keep things as they are in the Kusari Empire. This brings them into conflict with the Blood Dragons, a faction whose primary goal is to overthrow the government. It also puts them at odds with the Golden Chrysanthemums, another group that is striving for revolution in Kusari, but for different reasons. The Dragons wish to eliminate government corruption and the Golden C. aim to bring about a new age for women, yet the common goal for these two groups brings them together as allies against the Hogosha.
[801 AS] The Cardamine Connection
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 801 AS ]] BUFFALO -- The trade and use of Cardamine has brought three criminal factions together around the Outcasts, who produce the powerful narcotic. The Golden C. use Cardamine as part of their ritualistic subculture and distribute it into Kusari space. The Lane Hackers trade valuable shipping information to the Outcasts in exchange for the drug. Finally, there are the Rogues. They supply and shelter the Outcast smugglers on their way through Liberty space. This symbiotic relationship has been very effective in spreading the drug throughout Sirius.
[812 AS] Coalition Formed Against Corsair Expansion
[[ NEWS ARCHIVE - 812 AS ]]Since early 812 AS tensions have been steadily rising between the houses of Bretonia and Kusari, and it is expected open war will break out soon. What was less than expected however was news of Corsair involvement. A few weeks ago the Corsair plot was uncovered by Outcast operatives: the Corsairs and their Hogosha allies are attempting to use their influence on Samura to steer the Kusari government into open war with Bretonia! While the reasons for such a move are unknown as of yet, many speculations have emerged, including a possible renewed Corsair offensive on Cambridge while the Bretonian Armed Forces are busy elsewhere, and perhaps even a renewed strike on Outcast holdings in the Omicron systems in an attempt to tip the scales in the long war.\n\nWord has also came in of many factions now supporting the Corsairs in their move, including the Gaians in Bretonia and the Farmers Alliance movement in Kusari. This has immediately prompted a call for a summit on the issue, and today marks a breakthrough in the proceeding talks as a majority of Liberty Rogue, Lane Hacker and Molly leaders officially came together on Buffalo base to sign an alliance with the Outcast nation. The Junkers have also expressed their support, and in Kusari the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums have invited Outcast representatives to discuss long term plans. Outcast leaders have stated that they hope this to successfully tip the scales in their favour and nip the Corsair threat in the bud.
[814 AS] Anti-Corsair Coalition Broadens
MALTA -- 814 AS -- The Bretonia-Kusari conflict continues to escalate in Tau-29 and Tau-31, and the Corsairs are expected to also make a move soon. The Outcasts are preparing their defenses as Corsairs continue to try and ensure a lack of Zoner involvement in any military operations that would take place in Omicron Theta. Despite the obvious Corsair threat, the Zoners of Freeport 9 continue stalling between proposals for cooperation from both the Outcasts and the Corsairs.
Despite this surprising lack of direct military activity, the Outcasts have succeeded in rallying many core world factions to their cause. These include Mollys from Bretonia; Liberty Rogues and Lane Hackers from Liberty; Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums from Kusari; and lately and most importantly the Red Hessians and Bundschuh from Rheinland. In contrast the Gaians of Bretonia, Hogosha and Farmers Alliance from Kusari, and Unioners from Rheinland, as well as in an extremely surprising move, The Order chose to side with the Corsairs. Both sides continue to try to rally support from the other factions of Sirius, however no other group has openly declared support for the Outcasts or the Corsairs so far.
[814 AS] Kusari Close to Victory in Tau-31
NEW TOKYO -- 814 AS -- Bretonian attempts to delay Kusari fleet movements by employing pirates known as the Golden Chrysanthemums within the Kusari core worlds has failed, as a Naval Forces mobilisation has reduced pirate presence in Kyushu to an all time low. The Chrysanthemums are a fanatical female movement which attempts to overthrow the Kusari government in order to replace it with a liberal, cardamine fueled matriarchy. The Bretonian government was further implicated after State Police forces seized a transport smuggling explosives to Hokkaido, on board which was a message intended to Chrysanthemum terrorists, signed by a high ranking Bretonian official. These efforts, as underhanded and sneaky as they might be, have hardly impeded progress however with no less than six Kusari battleship class vessels expected to reinforce the front line in Tau-29 within the next three days.
With Bretonian attacks rapidly diminishing, the final liberation of Tau-31 appears to draw close. Although the Naval Forces has stood its ground and maintained low losses, a spirit of vengeance befalls our people. Bretonia must be purged from the Tau border worlds, there is no other way.
