History:
Born into a working family with two siblings, Calego led a hard life. His parents were the average couple that did everything they could to make money and give their kids a future. They were starting up the harsh work on California Minor when Calego came into being. He was the third child in their ever growing family. After three years had gone by the accident that killed his oldest sibling happened. After that the family decided that it was time to try their hand at a different trade. They traveled around seeking work and stumbled across an agent of the IMG, Independent Miners Guild. He had a generous work offer and so they accepted.
Working in the miner ships among several systems Calegos family stayed with the IMG for five whole years, the whole time transmitting the message to their son Calego. Calego, a quickly growing child of six, was fascinated by all of the amazing ships the IMG had constructed and designed. "The Best in Sirius," he was constantly told by the Ship Dealers he and his father would visit. He found that rather hard to believe so one night he verified the claim by, to the best of his ability, researching The Best Ships in Sirius, over the Neural Net. To his surprise, Five hundred million results came up. He asked his parents about it the next day and they told him about the advertising schemes most common in Sirius. His father then took him to the computer and began coaching him on the basics of using the machine. Calego took up an interest in computers and research at this time, and was often found researching odd bit and bytes of information late at night. His very first task when he became competent enough to weed out advertisements from true facts was to find out if IMG ships were the best in the galaxy. There was no particular reason why he wanted to find out, he was just curious. And the curiosity of a 7-year old rarely lets go. Eventually he did find the answer, or at least the best answer he could come up with, They were. He decided then and there to return to IMG once he had grown up and purchase one of their craft for his own uses. After five years with the IMG, Calegos family decided that they needed a more stable life. Thus they set off looking for a good place to settle down and raise what was left of their family. During the two years of moving among the four houses searching for the perfect place to live, Calego never once passed up a chance to access the Local Neural Net Library and copy the information he wanted to his own databank. He spent his spare time reading, copying, and sorting information on virtually every topic he could find information on.
His thirst for knowledge was noted by his parents and they soon started supporting his knowledge craving as much as possible. They knew that he could educate himself better than their own educations would allow. They bought him a higher line computer and a massive data storage system, then they started finding packets of information for him to read through. In this manner he self educated himself over the next ten years in the ways of the average space pilot, as well as other subjects like computer coding, spacecraft upkeep and repair, weapons systems, and many more things relevant to Technology and Spacecraft that his normal education did not teach him.
After two years of doing odd jobs in various houses, his family settled down in Leeds to work in the thriving industry there. They decided as soon as they landed that This was the perfect place and that from now on they would lead semi-normal lives that had stability, they would stay in Leeds no matter what happened. Calego liked the planet for its vast library in the section of Equipment and Spacecraft. Soon, he was enrolled in the school system to receive a more proper, standard education. After a bit of catching up on the basics he became the top of his class in subjects like Astronomy, Mathematics, and all other subjects that might help a space pilot; in addition, he also excelled at computer sciences, coding, and other computer courses he was able to take. As well as going to school, Calego made frequent visits to Tobias' Equipment shop and soon became good friends with the dealer. After finishing school, Calego went to work at the famed equipment shop under Tobias. Tobias was a good teacher and he taught everything he knew about space craft to the young adult, now around nineteen years old. Calego soon realized that all the researched information in the world could not compare to an ounce of experience. Tobais was pleased and surprised about how much the teen already knew, even though the kid lacked experience, he knew that would come later. They enjoyed many an evening debating what ship is best when and what sort of equipment would be most useful under what circumstances.
During his time there on Leeds, however, all was not always well. The pollution affected a heavy toll on his family. The toxic fumes had killed both is mother and his sister, leaving him an only child with his father. At the age of twenty-five he left this world he called home in search of his fortune. Two years later his father died leaving him all of the familys belongings. Among them, to his astonishment were several million credits, the saved wealth of all the years of work his parents had done. He soon gathered all his newfound belongings and set off to fulfill his dream. The first thing was to return the IMG and obtain his new ship and then outfit it with all the information banks and top of the line computers he could find. He also hooked up with two of his friends from his old school, one a weapons officer on some Battleship that had resigned once he heard they were giving him a desk job, the other a fellow communications and computer specialist. They both agreed to join him on his new ship.
Mindset and Motivations:
All throughout his life one virtue, one ideal was ingrained into his mindset, Make a Buck. His family was never among the rich, nor were they ever completely poor. But they still saved each and every credit they could. Because of this, his morals have been slightly tweaked, if it allows you to make a buck, then it can and must be done. He did inherit his Fathers logical mindset though. Before any decision he first weighs all the options. This alone has kept him on the lawful side of things. He chose to be hunted/chased for a while by a few rouges rather than have an entire navy on his tail. This among other reasons has kept him out of trouble. He still has bouts of rage whereby he will disregard all safety and destroy an aggressive raiding party that attacks him, however, these are not frequent and normally he avoids trouble at all costs. He prefers having people watch his back and thus would rather be a part of a team rather than work alone. The new found power in having a custom decked out ship has slightly warped his judgment and he now takes on more and more challenging foes.
Future:
Calego will continue making money anyway he sees fit. Eventually he will settle down and buy a nice ship and probably raise a family or start a company of some sort. All the while thinking Make a Buck, make a buck...
