Hello, my name is Dnicu, and im a mercenary. I was born in the proud and wealthy state of Liberty, but i was always impressed about something else, something beyond the boarders of my safe haven.
For many years i worked in Liberty, doing odd-jobs, living from day to day. I was happy, but i needed something more. Then one day Liberty decleared war on Reihnland, and i thought; oh no, this isn't good
I saw short news-flashes from the fights between Liberty and Reihnland, and then i saw it... the look of it, the power, and the unique-ness... The 13-ARKM-N37 "Fafnir" Bomber... it was perfect for me to live out my dreams, and i thought; I MUST HAVE IT.
3 days later i took off from Planet Manhattan. Destination: Reihnland.
It took a long time, and i worked hard over there, worst part was the locals. Were-ever i went they showed signs of hate and anger. I weren't wanted there in any way. They used to call me a spy, back-stabber, snitch or something so rough that it can't be mentioned in public.
Then after working in Reihnland for almost 2 months i got the green light from the navy, in the form of a letter, stating.
"We are hereby accepting you, Dnicu, as a honest, hardworking and decent man. Henceforth we shall let you stay in Reihnland on trail, but if you are caught, talking or communicating with any Liberty related Person you will be executed in public."
Thrilled over hearing this i jumped into my ship and left Hamburg. I was on my way to the capitol.
The day after i landed on the capitol planet of New Berlin. This planet, which i had heard so much bad things about were nothing short of breathtaking. It showed no sign of poverty, no sign of economical issues. Everyone was happy, peaceful, but tense. The war had just gotten more serious, and rumors about a mass invasion by either side was floating around.
The day after i overheard a little converstion between two military officers. They said that there was a jumphole to the "Base of operations and intelligence" near one of the tradelanes. I jumped into my ship and took off. 10 hours later i found it, i was a little afraid, but mostly eager to check it out.
I flew into it.
On the other side i was "greeted" by a battleship and no less then 4 heavyli equipped fighters. They asked what my buisniss was with this place. I told them that i were looking for a place to meet brave men and see marvelous ships.
They said that the Moselle was the right place, so i flew to the battleship and docked with it.
There i found it, the ship of my dreams. I checked my balance, i had over 32 million Sirius credit at that point, and using 14 millions for this ship was just fair. So there i was, brand new ship and equipment, with no idea what to do next.
I went back to my flat in New Berlin, and there i got the idea: Why fly a Reihnland bomber in Reihnland were thers no real action? Why not go back?. These were my questions, and i felt i had no reason to stay in Reihnland. After all, Liberty jobs were always better paid.
So i went back home, and the Reihnlanders didn't like it, not one bit. I were met by resistance at almost ever corner, and when i finally got off New Berlin, then the military was waiting. I fought hard, and after what seemed as a ethernity i had killed them all... This was my journey to a new life.
After getting away from the Reihnlanders, i got a new problem. The Liberty Police. They had heard about my little "field trip" and were never gonna accept someone who had betrayed Liberty.
I told them countless times that i had never told the Reihnlanders a thing, not even the vagues i had gotten from my previous odd-jobs. But the cops didnt see reason for me to tell the truth, after all, i could be a double-spy working for someone else.
So there i was, untill that one day when they said: We shall let you go, someone paid the 2million Sirius credit bail..... I was free....
I swore to never go on anymore "field trips", and the lesson i learned helped me make my decision to become a mercenary.
After all, money had gotten me out of troubble, and i were determined to use money to keep troubble away too....
