this pob feature is just fine, but the aftermath is too much taken seriously. If you want to update cores only for officials, you could have done so without nerfing the rest, and without using the civil war in disco to push yet another resolution. I have had plenty of chances to see King's Cross, and Golden coin, but not once have I critisized it, I simply ignore it and take a different route. Think about it, You can spend your time taking a different route, infact a shorter time, instead of complaining over and over again. Mollys guarding the entrance to their "land" is fine by me, its legit, LN holding alaska jumpgate is legit, King's cross holding London from Gallia is legit.
It all makes sense, so on the one hand, you whine about insufficient RP, but then you ask these pobs to be removed because you dont want to RP with it, and possibly silent trade. Having these "annoying" pobs forces people to stay longer, the longer they stay, the longer we have activity, and the bigger chance to meet someone. The good overrides the bad.
Again Tel, there's a point where, for the sake of keeping the server happy, fun, and active, that RP must be sacrificed for actual in-game play.
Sure...it would probably make AMAZING RP sense for Bretonia to build 3 PoBs at every Jump Hole and Gate that enters New London and then surround it with 6 defense platforms each...making New London basically an impenetrable fortress. But....that would also kill activity entirely.
PoBs that effectively cut off systems, while making sense inRP, kill activity. There's apparently plenty of evidence to support this, and I think there'd be an overwhelming support if you put a poll out there asking if blocking PoBs should be outright illegal. I'd be surprised if there isn't such a poll out there already...given how some like to create them.
